The restaurant itself is gorgeous with the glass walls and ceiling and greenery. The wait staff is very friendly. The food is average for the amount you’re paying. Basically it’s a place to come for ambience rather than for top notch food.

Such a romantic spot. Probably the most beautiful restaurant in Oxford. The restaurant’s walls and roof are entirely glass; the décor with its small indoor trees and dangling lights make this place look like it’s straight out of Pinterest. The comfy corner booths made for an intimate Valentine’s Day dinner, and the large center table was perfect for a group birthday brunch! The gelato is to dieeee for. It was SO good. Get dessert if you’re here for dinner for sure! They’re also quite good about allergies; I have a nut allergy, and when I told the waitress, she took the menu back to the chef and he marked all the items that were guaranteed to be nut-free or that he could alter to fit my dietary requirements. Definitely a great place if you’re looking for a special occasion venue.

Amazing atmosphere! Nothing comes near in Oxford for lunch time. Whether it is sunny, cloudy or rainy day, for every weather the atmosphere is unique in the restaurant. It is a glass house converted restaurant. Their menu changes depending on the veg and fruits of the season. Their prices are very reasonable for the quality of food, atmosphere and service! I go to this place for lunch once a month. It’s my top favourite place for lunch in Oxford. You can walk to this place from cornmarket in 15minutes.

Great atmosphere! We had a really nice meal at Gee’s, good food, good service. I don’t think I’d bring my children there for dinner, it’s more of an adult crowd. Very relaxed atmosphere in a beautiful room.

We had an excellent meal here. The menu was great(we appreciated the vegetarian options), the environment was delightful, the food was prepared beautifully, and our server was both knowledgeable and sweet. We will be going back.

Best food in Oxford. That glass house is perfect for business meeting and family lunch. Sometimes there is live music.

I am biased. This is not the kind of restaurant I like. It is a giant greenhouse and serves OK but not great food. The service is OK but not great. The ambiance is(I suppose) OK but not for me. I no longer eat here. There are too many other much better places in Oxford.

Gee’s came recommended and I placed it on my list to try. I opted for the 3 course dinner menu which was priced at £19.90. Grilled squid with lime and thyme This is probably the best way to taste the freshness of squid. Grilled to give a bit of smokey flavour and a touch of acidity with the lime with a hint of thyme, this would have gotten the thumbs up from me if not for the fact that the entire middle bit of the squid which is this one big chunk of meat was actually still raw. Understandably it does take longer to cook that section but I didn’t finish it. Whole red mullet, saffron tomatoes and green beans The red mullet is actually quite a meaty piece of white fish. You get the whole mullet which actually equates to quite a substantial portion of meat. If you generally don’t like the smell of fish, you might want to avoid this one. I loved the green beans which still had a good crunch in them and wasn’t overcooked that it is just a pile of mush. The Bakewell tart had the slightly crumbly base and was pleasing to eat. I enjoyed my meal at Gee’s. The service was attentive and it has a good vibe to it.

Gee’s came highly recommended as one of Oxford’s best restaurants. Therefore it goes without saying that it needed trying out. I went there with a couple of friends on a Saturday night. The dining room which looks like some sort of glasshouse with cast-iron columns was booked out which usually is a good sign. So far, so good. After we had ordered, some bread arrived, that not only was overbaked with a brownish-black crust, but it was also horribly stale. I had ordered goat’s cheese that came with a bit of dried-out salad and was completely lacking the characteristic tart flavour. The steak I had ordered as a main course came well-done although I had ordered it medium-rare and was dry and tough. What a shame for a nice piece of meat. After such an awful two courses, we opted not to have dessert there and left the place in utter disappointment. That said, service was quite attentive and the staff was friendly but slightly overwhelmed with a full house. What a pity !

Yum! This place is an experience. We went for lunch on a Saturday, and had the three-course prix fixe. I had Jerusalem artichoke soup, gnocchi, and chocolate mousse. It was delicious. The ambiance was lovely, being surrounded by the glass of the old greenhouse. It had the feel of a garden, but still warm. The waitresses were very attentive, and the service was definitely good. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would highly recommend it!
