We were in Nottingham and needed to stop for lunch, turtle bay was our first choice as we keep meaning to try the Birmingham branch, having tried the Nottingham branch we have already planned to get to Birminghams this weekend! Turtle bay is a gem, if you like Caribbean food, and what’s not to like with pulled pork topped burgers, slow cooked one pot meals, curry, fish and spiced chicken. Service in the Nottingham branch was outstanding, we was told it was a 15 minute wait but was actually seated in the time it took to pour our drinks, cocktails are two for one until 7pm My beef burger(street burger) with pulled pork topping came in a brioche bun, served with fries and was super tasty. It’s a wonderfully relaxed restaurant, perfect for taking the family, no one will mind if your little ones drop a spoon or spill their drink. Lovely food with a nice touch of spice, although you can spice it up with the selection of sauces on the table. I’m already excited at the thought of trying our local branch. The barman in Nottingham was lovely, friendly, chatty, knowledgable and helpful, recommending some fab cocktails, and preparing Keith a Guiness cocktail which was mmmm so lovely, like a Guinessy milkshake for grown ups!

I’m a huge fan of this place and I hope you get round to experiencing this place. An authentic West Indian restaurant situated in the heart of Nottingham. I popped in here with a friend on a visit to Notts for a catch up. A word of warning, it is very busy at the weekends so book ahead of time or get there early. I had the jerk chicken with rice and peas with a side of sweet potato. Incredible food! The drinks were also great! The bar serves a wide variety of rums and other drinks. To start we also had roti and patties which were great as well. Big shout out to Holly who served us tonight. Lovely lady who really took the extra time to make the experience even better than it already was. 5 out of 5. I’ll be back!
