We stopped in for a glass of champagne at around 12:30PM before brunch. The place looked great, but for some reason there was no bartender and only one waitress in the entire restaurant. She was running around like crazy trying to do her job and so the service suffered. We sat for probably 10 – 15 min before she was able to come by for drinks. We had ask the chefs if there was anyone that could help us. Understandably the waitress was not in a good mood and therefore again service wasn’t pleasant. We did order a drink and then moved on to another place that was properly staffed and hopefully going to have service with a smile or at least without a bad attitude. Haven’t been back. Not saying wouldn’t give it another shot, I’m sure we will, but we aren’t pining to walk back through those doors.

I went twice because it was close to where I was staying and has a two courses for a tenner menu. On the first visit, I ordered the vegetarian risotto(and was holding the tenner menu as I spoke to the waitress). I was served the crayfish and asparagus risotto bit didn’t realise until I’d started. I spoke to the assistant manager who instantly apologised saying that that the chefs may have done it automatically as it’s their most popular dish. He offered to replace it but it was so tasty that I accepted a free drink instead. Then I found a piece of cardboard in it!(probably packaging) so more apologies and all charges waived. Service was prompt but not aggressive I felt that the issue had been so well handled that I returned two nights later. This time I stuck to the tenner menu and had the humus starter 3 varieties served with warm bread and olives all dribbled liberally with olive oil. A hearty starter that could be shared. I then had the green thai curry as recommended by the cheery a/m last visit. It was tasty and not over hot but not quite enough sauce so that the rice seemed too dry(although it wasn’t actually). More importantly they started playing banging beats shortly after I started eating whereas the muisic was unobtrusive on the first visit. There was a different manager and the service was not so good. He and the waitress spent much time giggling by the till. So disappointingly patchy but if the much tattooed assistant manager is on site I recommend a visit
