After poor experience of the other beefeater near me we decided to try this one one night as the menu uis actually quite good. We booked ahead as was unsure how busy it would be however there was no table reserved. The? manager was aimlessley walking about to find us a table. Our server was lovely and our drinks order was taken quickly. We ordered our food and only waited around 15 mins … i was impressed until i looked down at my plate to find it eas the wrong meal. Beefeater seriously!!! My meal was replaced but i had to wait and there was no offer of money off or replacement fries as i munched them whilst waiting. The food was nice but again customer service is seriously lacking.

Enjoyed the lovely meal here tonight, Husband had the garlic mushrooms and I had the chicken liver pâté both arrived in good time and healthy portions. For our main meal hubbie had the double chicken piri piri which was served with a side salad, corn on the cob and chunky spicy chips(which were bottomless). I had steak mushroom cheese burger, this came with its own jar of homemade slaw and of course the chunky spicy chips. Chips come in a choice of skinny or chunky, pain or spicy. I had a glass of cola, although a bit pricy for a one off, the drink is unlimited which makes it well worth the money. Hubbie had a pint of Lager, he said was a good pint. Total price £35 well worth the cost.

I asked my niece why she shows this place for her 16th birthday, her response was that there was something for everyone. She wasn’t wrong, but like all pub grub chain menus it was vast and it looked a little ominous for my tastes. I ordered off the early evening menu which limited my choice, but I wasn’t fussed. My wife’s nachos arrived first, it was an impressive looking platter. Then the garlic bread arrived it was a pretty bland affair, but not burnt and actually quite tasty. My burger was brought and actually it was delightful, I’d added the cheese and bacon. The bacon was crisp as was the accompanying veg. So much so, I ordered a brownie and ice cream. Now it’s not going to win a Michelin star, but it’s certainly better than some of the other chain pub grills I’ve been in recently. So while my average for such places would be three stars, this one isn’t bad and rockets to the heady heights of a four.

You cannot beat the Beefeater for burgers. You can’t. It’s a fact. I come here at least a couple of times a month and take advantage of their Beefeater Rewards Card which allows points to be saved and exchanged for money off vouchers or special offers. All good value. The food here is of a very high standard. Yes, it’s a Beefeater so the menu is limited in the sense that there’ll be a lot of red meat but there are still some fish, chicken, pasta and salad dishes too. The focus is on steak and burgers and so it should be as they do it very well. The restaurant is part of a hotel/pub/restaurant complex with a Premier Inn(in Newton Mearns?!?) so the clientele is varied between the traveler and the local and there appear to be a lot of regulars from the local area(always a good sign). Here are some points of interest: 1 — Hobgoblin on draught at the bar 2 — Bottomless fries 3 — This was the last Beefeater to be given an individual name.
