Wong Take Away & Delivery

I can’t believe that I have lived in the West End of Newcastle pretty much since I left home, and I didn’t know about this place!!!
Peter Wong is a force of nature!
And, ooooh, the food! Just amazing.
I have had 3 lots from him in the last 2 or 3 months, and each time I have been blown away. Lastly, I had scallops with spring onions and ginger. All fresh ingredients, big chunks of all, and beautifully tender scallops! (£5.50) My partner had shredded chicken with bamboo shoots in Oyster sauce, and the bamboo shoots were all HUGE crunchy chunks. (£3.80!)

Peter is a man of mature years, who seems to single handedly runs, cooks, and serves behind the counter in his shop near the corner of Condercum Road and Adelaide Terrace in Beenwell. He is such a character! Joking with his customers, and all chopping, slicing, dicing and cooking in full view through the door at the back.
Delivery is free over £10, £1 if not, and he is open Monday to Saturday 6.30pm to 12.00pm, 6.30 to 11.30 on a Sunday.
Best Cantonese meal, takeaway OR sit down I think I have ever tasted! I will never go anywhere else in Newcastle again for this kind of food. Yum!
