I would highly recommend this restaurant. If you’re in Newcastle for a holiday or just stopping by it’s a great choice for high quality, innovative and delicious food, and excellent service in a cosy yet sophisticated atmosphere. My boyfriend and I were in Newcastle for a weekend break and decided to try Vanilla. We were not disappointed! Our waiter was friendly, engaging, and lovely. He took time to explain the menu to us and made us feel at ease. The food is a little on the pricy side if you’re ordering a la carte but if you want to treat yourself to an amazing dining experience, it’s well worth it in my opinion. I had a delicious starter of calamari, tender beef, chickpea fritters and Asian salad. The flavours were exquisite together and the squid was the best I’ve ever tasted outside Asia– beautifully crispy and tender. I had a beef main, and my boyfriend and I shared a rich and indulgent dessert of chocolate fondant with a melting white chocolate interior. This is rich and tasty food at its best, so skip lunch and pig out! Vanilla is an amazing Irish restaurant. Love it! Will definitely be back in the future.

Vanilla is a cosy restaurant on Newcastle’s Main Street. I visited for lunch a few weeks ago and decided to get the soup and sandwich combo which costs just £6.95 which I thought was very reasonable! I chose a wrap which was filled with chicken, herb, stuffing croquette and black pepper Mayo. Delicious! The portion size, in terms of both the wrap and the soup, were great! Very impressed with this little gem!

Best meal I’ve had in a long long time! An intimate little restaurant where non other than Jamie Redknap ate in a week or so before. We treated ourselves to a date night down in Newcastle and we weren’t disappointed. The service was very attentive and friendly, making recommendations and not overbearing rushing us through our dinner. We started with a couple of cocktails, a Juniper Orchid and a prosecco and passion fruit sorbet float. I would happily have sat here all night and just drank the cocktails! I had to start chicken liver parfait with brioche and Chutney, rich and flavoursome, and my bf had soup, I can’t remember what type but there were little crispy bits of bacon, he devoured it! My mains Oven Roasted Chicken withSmoked Corn and Roast Garlic mash, I think chicken dinners can get a bit samey, but this was amazing, delicious and just the right size. We opted to stare then chocolate fondant and a few more cocktails. Although it was on the prices side it was absolutely work it and we are already talking about when we are going back!

Excellent restaurant. In my opinion the best in Newcastle by far. Which brings up the point that the address Unilocal has is incorrect! This restaurant is at 67 Main Street Newcastle, not Dundrum! Wrong town.

Every course was excellent. This is a restaurant that concentrates on flavor with attractive looking plates served by real human beings with good humor. It’s a joy to find this outside of a major city. It isn’t cheap but it is good value.
