Cafe De Vie

Tucked just off Northumberland Street, Café De Vie is not your usual eatery. There is a simple rarely changing menu that is well cooked and tasty but hardly ground breaking. So what, its good value and served quickly. (I recommend the steak au cheval b.t.w.)
It is run by a French guy who is unfailingly polite and welcoming and his staff are great. I love the unfussy décor and simple layout, its corner site also means you can neb on passers-​by as they scurry past to shops and car parks.

Aujourd’hui, j’ai pris un café ici avec une amie qui va partir Newcastle bientôt. Nous sommes arrivées avant midi, donc, il n’y avait pas beaucoup de clients et il y avait beaucoup de tables pour nous. L’atmosphère du Café était tranquille et détendue ce matin, alors nous avons eu une bonne conversation avec nos boissons.
J’aimais le café d’ici, j’ai pris un café noir aujourd’hui, mais la dernière fois que j’étais ici, j’ai pris un espresso. Les deux sont étaient fort, riche et absolument délicieux. En Angeterre, on a besoin d’être spécifique si on voudrait un café. Si on voudrait un café noir, on a besoin de demander pour un «americano» noir… d’habitude ils sont le même.
Au Café français, on parle en français… mais ce n’est pas nécessaire, parce que on est en Angleterre! :)
