I hadn’t been to the Old Beams in two years, so when my husband was asking me where I wanted to go for Sunday lunch I suggested we go there again since I remember having enormous Yorkshire puddings and overall a nice time. We arrived at 4pm and were seated after waiting for a few minutes. I won’t go into the mundane details, but the service could use some serious improvement. We ended up having two sets of drinks come within 5 minutes of each other, which can only mean that no one knows what they are doing since all orders are put through a computer system. In the end, we ended up being double charged for our drinks but the manager took them off and acknowledged that the service that day was very poor. I don’t think we will ever come back. Food was average and service was just bad.

I had a night out with coworkers at Old Beams and had a lovely time. It is in Shenley Lodge and looks just like an old farmhouse of sorts. Our night started off standing round the bar getting some drinks to get the night started. Bartenders were friendly and quick. It started off a bit rough as we made a reservation for 15 and then had a couple of late additions or some kind of miscommunication on numbers and they didn’t have enough seats at the table for us. It all worked out in the end but this pub was absolutely packed! I had the Bangers & Mash as it had been on my list while in England. It was soooo good! Absolutely loved it here. It had pork sausages on buttered mashed potatoes, rich gravy & caramelised onions for £7.95. Following dinner, had some more drinks and just overall were served well while here.
