Happy Days bills itself as a dessert lounge, and sure, they do a few desserts — but really it’s a milkshake place. This was one of the early milkshake places in the area — now they’re everywhere. Located in Uxbridge tube station, it’s entirely too convenient after visiting the in-laws to pop in for some sugar therapy. In all honesty, it’s not great — I’ve had better milkshake — but I still enjoy it. It’s around £3 for a small milkshake, but the small is plenty big. They have a huge variety of candy, cakes, biscuits and cereals to mix in to your custom milkshake. The staff are really nice, too. I had a Caramac milkshake last time — I don’t recommend it. It’s a bit bland. I used to get Reeses Peanut Butter cups but I find it just too sweet normally. Worth stopping in if you’re passing through with a sweet tooth!

If you love ice cream or milkshakes, and are in the area, then Happy Days Milkshakes is the place for you. It is clearly a tween-magnet with a plethora of different varieties of milkshake– including ‘chocolate bar’, ‘biscuit and cereal’ or ‘muffin’ shakes. They also have coffee and doughnuts for those would not consider those appetising. There are also healthier options such as smoothies and fresh squeezed juice for those of us coming out from Virgin Gym(!) However, I go for the ice cream! They have New Zealand ice cream, which tastes really quite unique and has many different sounding flavours. My favourite is ‘Vanilla Chocolate Kisses’, which is a variation on Choc Chip. Second favourite is Butterscotch. So if you’re shopping in Southside mall and have a sweet tooth, consider this instead of the standard trip to Ben and Jerry’s.
