Being a fan of Chinese especially the all you can eat variety i was a little freaked out at the system Orient Express used initially. After having had explained in various ways via a glass of wine and basket of prawn crackers the penny finally dropped! So, here’s the beef; for the buffet you pay a mere £12. You pick as much as you want of the menu and its cooked fresh for you, unlike these all you can eat in, where dishes are topped up and you help yourself. Oh no, in this place its all cooked as fresh as fresh can be. Marvellous! Now, after you finally get your head round this… obviously you’re probably not as stupid as yours truly… the food is amazing and the best thing is you can keep it coming! Although, do be warned they do state to try and not order more than you can eat or you will be charged! Now to the nosh; the duck in the wraps to start is the nicest thing i’ve ever eaten and i’m still having wet, as in drooling, dreams about it! The lemon chicken, chicken curry and barbecue ribs are also to die for, not literally though as the restaurant tends to be pretty quiet during the week so you don’t want to cause a scene. Service, is second to none and as i’ve stated all ready prices are super reasonable! Again, off the beaten track but pip squeak to find once your in Merthyr Tydfil the Orient Express is definitely worth going to!
