We had dinner here two nights in a row, which is rare for us. This is because(1) the other restaurants/pubs in town have *much* more limited hours and availability, and(2) it was delicious. Overall, it’s a large restaurant space(attached to a hotel) that has an outdoor area that overlooks Mont St. Michel. The tables were spread out enough for comfort, and it was casual and relaxed. The service was excellent on both nights. They are open later than seemingly any other restaurant in town, which is very convenient. They have a local beer special: you get three ½ pints of Cornish beer/cider for the price of 1 pint. It was a good deal, and the beers and ciders were tasty. In addition to the regular menu, there are 3 – 4 specials each night. We tried out the fish and chips, burger, lamb shoulder, hake, power salad, and monkfish(special) — and we all enjoyed our food. While we were there, the waiters sang happy birthday to a diner and brought him a cake with sparklers, which was fun. We would definitely return!

We keep returning here when in the area, as the food is consistently interesting and tasty, without being over the top. And the view of the Mount is to die for. I think there is a new chef, and the food now seems better than ever. Recent meals have included seared rump of Cornish lamb with crushed new potatoes and pink peppercorns; and hake tagine with almond and apricot rice and flatbread. Excellent desserts too, with summer berry bread and butter pudding with clotted cream a standout. They do a lovely espresso martini too. Dinner for two(main, pud, drinks) was £65. It’s a must.

Very nice pub, situated over four levels, which all take advantage of the spectacular views of St. Michaels Mount. Great areas for eating or enjoying the views and a quiet pint. You shouldn’t be put off by the prices as the food is excellent quality and worth the extra holiday treat, so indulged yourself, you deserve it.

Stopped here for a coffee after our visit to the mount, a maze of rooms to eat in but sat outside with a nice view of the mount. May go back for a meal later on our hols.

We had found this hotel on the internet before our recent trip to Cornwall and all agreed that it looked absolutely stunning. Alas, when we arrived we felt a little disappointed and I was all set to give them a low review. The bedrooms felt like they had been recently refurbished but the rest of the hotel was pretty tatty, with chipped paint and flakey wallpaper. Doors to cleaning rooms were left open and rubbish was left outside which gave a very poor perception of this hotel. The shower in our bedroom also fluctuated constantly from freezing to scorchio and the door wouldn’t shut resulting rapidly in a flooded bathroom. However, the level of customer service in this hotel was exceptional and just proves how simply things like friendliness and helpfulness can turn someone’s experience around… The front of house staff were quick to change our room for us when we mentioned the problems with the shower. We were, in fact, moved to a room with a brand-new top-of-the-range shower and breathtaking views of St Michael’s Mount from the window. A room that would normally have been a lot more expensive. In fact, all the staff we came into contact with were amazing good at their jobs — from reception, to bar staff, to waiting staff, and in particular the older chap(Anthony) that single-handedly ran the breakfast service. Oh the breakfast! There was so much choice from full English, to Continental, to smoked salmon and scrambled egg, to poached haddock, and any combination of the above. Nothing was too much trouble and our server never batted an eyelid when my slightly fussy travelling companions made particular demands on how the scrambled egg and sausages should be cooked, as well as asking for extras!!! The evening food, although nothing outstanding, was tasty and filling. My one complaint was that there was nowhere in the bar where you could escape the noisy television, which happened to be showing the final of BGT on this evening. We ended up going to bed early just to get away from it! Overall, what could have been a disappointing stay turned into a lovely travel experience and we ended up staying for an extra night.

We had breakfast here before going across to St. Micheals mount. The English breakfast was excellent with proper sausages and mushrooms. The staff were also very friendly and helpful.

Sunday carvery is very tasty and is only complimented by a view to die for(especially if you get the table in the window!). Can get very busy(shows just how good it is) so would recommend booking for a special occasion. Definitely one to add to the list of places to try, if you haven’t already done so.
