For a halal steak house I wasn’t feeling greatly optimistic. But I will try anything once. On entering it was very low key café based but the busyness encouraged me. Taking a seat in a plastic chair I soon discovered there was no alcohol served. I did try a mocktail of sangria and my friend a strawberry daiquiri. As you can imagine the menu consisted of meat and luckily fish, all at a reasonable price. We ordered the ten spicy chicken wings to share, me the tilapia fish and himself something steak like. The cocktails were nicely presented however mine was very Vimtoey. Chicken wings soon followed which were plentiful, the spice on them was good and sized averagely. When the mains landed I was pleasantly surprised. Served on a giant wooden platter I double checked to see I hadn’t ordered the baby whale instead. The steak was laid out in the same manner smothered with pasta. The flavours were good, although glancing over at the steak it looked so anemic with out the blood. Dependant on who you are this is a great place. I. e if you are T Total, eat halal meat you will love it. me however am only just coming to terms on meat eating . The fish was good but usually I try a slither of rare/medium rare steak. but I find meat isn’t as succulent or as tasty without the red stuff. also I do enjoy a glass of wine with this kind of food. Will I be back? No but I will recommend it to some of my friends and it is cheap. and meaty.

An incredible new Steakhouse that adds to the diverse and ever-changing nature of Rusholme. Against our better judgement we decided to come here on the night of Eid a few weeks ago. Which, in the end turned out to be not such a shabby decision. Yes it was etremely busy, but we managed to find a parking space without incident and the atmosphere was extremely family friendly. Upon entering and to our amazement we discovered that the place is open until 4−5am depeding on how busy it is.(Not sure who eats steak at 4 am but we weren’t complaining. The interior was very pleasent, as were the staff. I had the Toro’s special steak and it was sensational(Especially at £14) and served with a great sauce, rice and chips. The Sirloin was well done and deliciously at the right side of tender. A special mention for the chicken livers whicha re also divine. As I always say I’d happily take incredible grub at a place like this than an upmarket overpriced shindig in a city centre postcode. A quick tip if you’re driving here, park on Rusholme Place. There’s ample space most nights and it’s only a few minutes walk away. In conclusion it’s places like this that are increasingly making it difficult to call this ‘the curry mile’ any longer. The stretch of road has become in the last five years a bit more than that.
