Very large multi bar establishment mostly catering to the after work drinks crowd. Happy hour seems to vary each time I go. Happy hour means drinks are £3 per pint as opposed to £6. Decided to try the restaurant on the ground floor for a meal as it was 50% off with a tastecard. Crab cake starter was adequate and Thai green curry was fairly standard but uninspiring. I had the better option as my friends had chicken which was quite tough, when you can tell it’s been taken from the freezer and microwaved to death. There are much better options for dining in this area. It was cheap — £24 for 2 courses for 3 people. But you definitely get what you pay for.

I have been here twice now. First time was really good and enjoyable. However the second i had a very unfortunate experience which sadly has hampered my opinion on the place, a lot!

I have had the unfortunate experience of going to this horribly tacky place on more than one occasion, both times for the misguided efforts of my friends looking for a supposedly good place to celebrate a birthday. I think staying at home watching reruns of Coronation St would be more entertaining and I HATE Coronation St. The menu looks delicious but it simply doesn’t live up to expectations, my rib-eye steak was so rubbery it would have bounced had I dropped it and the chunky fries were crisp on the outside and nice and cold on the inside. The drinks are over priced and overly sweet. The only good thing about Tiger Tiger is… sorry nothing comes to mind. Wait yes there is one thing… leaving

4 Stars for Tiger Tiger??? Yes I know, this is exactly what you must be thinking and I would have probably said the same before my recent visit to this popular Manchester club! I have 4 very good reasons backing up all my stars : 1. Space: This is probably the biggest night club, in terms of space and capacity in Manchester, spread out over 3 floors and more then 8 different rooms. The interiors don’t look tacky either they did put in a lot of effort to do up the whole place! Come on you ought to give at least 1 star if not more for just this reason! 2. Variety of Music: This is a concept I really like inside Tiger Tiger that they have different music playing in their various rooms, so if some room is playing blue, the next one is playing commercial and some other might be playing R&B. It has something to cater to each persons palate in terms of music. 3. Karaōke Rooms: I don’t know too many people who are not a fan of Karaōke, for me it is definitely a great way of spending your birthday or re-unions with old friends. We all have our favorite songs which we want to sing aloud after a few beers or cocktails! Tiger Tiger has some really swanky Karaōke rooms where you can have a private party with your friends if you are not keen on dancing the night away in the club. 4. Price: Yes, price of drinks can be a make or break factor on a night out, who wants to spend 12 pounds on a drink when you want to have a more than a few? No one wants to feel skint after a party, I surely don’t! Yes but I agree that Tiger Tiger might not attract the best crowd in Manchester, but after speaking to one of the managers there seems like they are working on it! I personally have only been there a few times but to be honest it was not too bad! Verdict: This place has lot of potential, the only setback is the crowd but once that improves it could well be one of the best clubs in Manchester!

Chain restaurants are one thing, when you like them and trust them. Chain bars are something I’ve never been too sure about. And to be perfectly honest, although I’ve only visited the Manchester branch of Tiger Tiger before, I’ve had very mixed experiences the couple of times I’ve been there. Pros: A friend had to do a Tiger Tiger Tour(yes, these things exist) and I kind of had to go there. No, that’s a pro, because that was the time that myself and Vickie S sat around for ages waiting for the band to pack up — and we enjoyed some of the finest music possible. Believe it or not that was the moment I first heard Ian Brown’s FEAR. I know, I’m a crap Mancunian. But the bar will always have a special place in my heart because of that. Cons: Where do I start? It’s in the Printworks for a start, which is a fine place to wander round and watch movies but an utterly dreadful area for a night out. Think orange-tanned hen parties, yobs on parade with their finest wet-head look and Ed Hardy jeans on display, all accosting you with their mere presence as you stumble out of the cinema full of Ben and Jerry’s having seen something quite thought-provoking. What a wake-up call. More down points include that the chain vibe automatically means a few surly members of staff, which I’ve encountered more times than I’ve cared for. However one of its redeeming factors is the food, which while not mindblowing I’m told is actually pretty decent. Just avoid at weekends… it’s not massively pleasant.

Ususally very busy with a young crowd and the dress code is less is more. The karaōke pods upstairs are fun, they add a service charge which is not always quoted, so always check. Tiger tiger are known for their strict bouncers unless you flirt with them. They have several bars so doesn’t take too long to get served and they are reasonably priced drinks.

I am not reeeeally a Clubbing kinda of person, obviously if I drink enough I’ll be taken in by the atmosphere of wherever I am and act accordingly which for the sake of this abode = Minimalist dancing due to lack of space, trying to talk very loudly and not being heard by the person next to you, and metaphorically bending over everytime I went to the bar(infact this last one only stopped physically by aforementioned lack of space). I sadly have been to Tiger Tiger a few times, always due to being part of the crawl of a stag do or birthday and so never by choice. It joins my list of places I object to paying on the door, £7 to just walk into a building so that I can spend more money… You’re already on a loser in my book. Upstairs there are multiple rooms with different music playing, this one thing I will give to to place in that when you actually go into a new room you can’t really hear what was playing in the previous one, maybe this is just because everything is played so loud, or maybe its the walls of people you wade through absorbing the sound waves with their tightly packed bodies. top floor from my view is rubbish, they pack so many people in that you there isn’t enough room to dance, unless you were in a mosh pit but its the wrong music for that. Second floor as best I can figure has always been cordoned off whenever I’ve gone so I’m assuming its an area you hire out for parties? who knows. The Groundfloor is alright… after 1am… at peak it’s as rammed as the top floor, after 1am it becomes bareable. Basement is toilets, and the largest space dedicated to Coat check-in I’ve ever seen, you could fit some of the smaller bars in Manchester in their basement. I Loathe but also feel a minute bit of sympathy for the guys on the door of this place, I always get a lecture about behaving inside(to which I always really want to state, I’ll probably be the soberest person in there, they must be intimidated by the beard) and they are pretty aggressive. But at the same time outside TigerTiger is just some form of organised chaos, with people trying to skip queues, already hammered and leary, falling over pushing, shoving getting in each others face… lovely. Beer… Well who would try and get a pint on tap when you’d lose half of it trying to get through all the people, Bottles £3.60 — £3.80 a piece, Shot and a mixer I’d had a few by then but through my awesome powers of deduction I handed over a tenner for a bottle and a Single Rum n Coke and barely got change so a 1 shot and mixer must be around £5−6 mark, I wish I’d been more sober to just stick with the bottles. All in all as I think i’ve already said, I don’t understand why people go here, it’s just the epitome of what is wrong with Weekend Drinking culture and how a place can survive based purely on location. Sadly I have no doubt I will attend again during the next Stag/Birthday.

Well I’m still very new to Unilocal and so far the places I’ve reviewed I’ve chosen to review because I want others to find them and enjoy them as I do… Tiger Tiger is not one of these places. I’m struggling to think of a place in Manchester I dislike more in fact, the staff, both door and bar are rude, it is tacky, has no character, I don’t know what their food is like but I’d imagine it to require its packaging to be pricked with a fork and heated in a microwave before serving… I just really dislike this place and I suggest anyone looking for a nice bar to go to just avoid the printworks entirely and walk up the road a little into the bars of the northern quarter as you’ll undoubtedly have a much better night out

Awful! Full of chavs and idiots who drink too much wanting a fight. The place is huge, over 3 floors and mainly plays R&B. Drinks are cheap, hence chavs being in there. They do have a «dress code» but I have seen people wandering around in there in sneakers and stripy tops… not a good look! I would not recommend this bar to anyone! Well, not unless you’re a chav!

Tiger Tiger– the name pops out when you think of innovative club names! Other than the innovative club name, the club itself is huge! 2 storeys and so many rooms! And boy, are they massive! I’ve been her here numerous times on their famous monday with Vodka Island and then the thursdays with Lollipop. Both really popular student nights with cheap drinks of course! This is the home destination to countless birthdays and celebrations. The bathrooms are well stocked with perfumes, lipsticks, hair brushes and some lollipop and they all cost about a £1.50 to £1. A great way to tidy up halfway into crazy clubbing nights. The music is great, if you like r&b and commercial nights, you would definitely love this place! Though right now, Tiger has become a bit calmer than the start of the year and how it used to be the previous year. It needs to come up with new nights and new ideas to attract crowds! Otherwise, if you haven’t been here, you might want to give it a shot and I’m sure you won’t be disappointed!

Another mega dega super duper club. Urgghh. Biggest rip off of my life, it was in here that I first handed over a £20 for 3 drinks and got a quid or so back. Not good. Tiger tiger is a nice idea spread over a lot of floors the place is usually buzzing with a big queue on a hardcore night e.g. Friday and Saturday, so expect to be stood around in the cold for quite a while. Inside there is level after level each with a different vibe and dance floor theme. They have some private booth things and I once met the guy who was in skins then went on to do slum dog millionaire was in here, he was a nice guy but I doubt he would of chatted to me unless he knew I was a friend of a friend(claim to fame). Tiger tiger attracts the crowds I don’t really do hanging out with, this includes the«skin head overload on protein so your fat brigade» and the«I have no concept of modesty with a bottle of spray tan» kind of lady. I avoid like the plague, give it go if you’ve got money to burn.

I was disappointed on two counts with Tiger Tiger when I accidentally ended up in here the other night. 1. No tiger. 2. No tiger. The queue is massive to get in. Why? It’s rubbish in here. I was quite overdressed. I.e., I had clothes covering my arms, legs, chest, back and special garden. Some of the other people here weren’t covering some of these bits. Fortunately their fluorescent tans covered the blue of the hypothermia they’d got from exposing so much flesh. Probably not again. Not really for me.

I don’t believe this place is really a nightclub; it’s a twisted sanitorium for the sickest of society, namely those cursed with the disease of ‘being a tasteless berk’. It’s a testament to everything that has gone wrong with nightlife in Manchester, homogenising it all into one bland, pasty soup populated by grey-faced drones that all dress alike and sound the same. It’s too expensive, it’s too bloody big, and the design seems to have been lifted straight from the pages of M. C. Escher, creating a convoluted nightmare of generic music and generic people. Just save yourself the bother, and go somewhere actually designed to cater for your particular tastes.

In the main, Tiger Tiger is a woeful experience. As recent reviewers have noticed, it’s very pricey, especially on the weekends. I too have heard that student nights are cheaper, but the massive numbers flocking to the venue have ensured that I have never been able to validate this assertion, as despite my most valiant attempts, I can’t get to the bar. I would like to suggest that they employ a large number of rugby players in Super Dry shirts to stand all along the bars pretending to be enjoying the awful pop music, to prevent people from actually purchasing the reduced price beverages that they so fervently advertise. This ploy also has the repercussion of making it take 15 – 20 minutes to get to the toilet. On the other hand, they rent out Karaōke booths! And they’re brilliant(see the business photos for me absolutely loving it). I thought I hated Karaōke because the idea of singing in front of a bunch of strangers scares the life out of me(and I’m appalling). Thanks to Tiger Tiger, where you and your mates can rent out your own privet Karaōke booth, I have discovered how much fun it really is. Each room has an amazing track selection, with literally everything you could want(comment not applicable to classical music fans). You also get access to a different bar where you can get served… bonus. So do go to Tiger Tiger, but only if you’re going to rent out one of these!

So Tiger Tiger is not to everyone’s taste. It’s big, it’s loud and it’s pricey. Situated next door to Hard Rock Café at the front of the Printworks complex, it has a very central location and is conveniently surrounded by lots of other bars/clubs should you get bored and fancy a wander! Clientele varies between students on Mondays at the insanely popular Vodka Island to hen and stag parties galore at the weekends… and everything in-between during the week! They’ve got seven bars spread over several floors plus a restaurant, you can actually get very lost in this place! The many staircases are slightly difficult after a couple of drinks too! Music varies depending on the night so you’re best to check the website in advance, the website is also quite good for booking onto the guest list too… a free service which means you skip the queues and sometimes the entry fee too! The big downside has to be the drinks prices, the student nights are an exception to this but expect to pay at least £7 for a double spirit+mixer at the weekends!!!

I’ve been to Tiger Tiger only a couple of times, both for work Christmas parties. The food in the restaurant is pretty good, although we were choosing from a set menu so I can’t vouch for the normal selection. However the food was competently cooked(my steak was slightly on the rare side of medium-rare, which to me is better than being slightly too well done) and the service was friendly and attentive, even though there were several large parties in. Upstairs is a bar and club area, the Lucky Voice Pods karaōke booths, and a cocktail bar. The music was, typically for bars nowadays, incredibly loud for a relatively early stage of the night. Bar prices were okay(£3.60 for a gin and tonic) but beware them pouring a double without asking first. I wouldn’t include Tiger Tiger as one of my regular haunts, but for the occasional work night out, it’s pretty good fun — as long as you get on with your work colleagues! NB: A word to the wise — they were charging £10 entry on Friday night at 21:30! This may have been due to the number of parties in that evening, making it more busy than usual, but it stank of profiteering to me!

Dominant, bolshy, the cheeky mistress of Manchester — this place is very popular, very brazen in it’s lust for a good-time and a hearty place to have a meal, enjoy a drink and soak up some atmosphere. Becoming a little obvious nowadays(who hasn’t heard of Tiger Tiger?) but you inevitably end up here at some point. A huge entertainment complex for eating, drinking and dancing — with seven bars, a restaurant, club and outdoor terrace — you won’t be short of things to do here.

Huge bar/restaurant/nightclub in the Printworks complex in Manchester. I went on a hen night — and they catered for our large group very well, although the restaurant was full of hen/stag nights and other large groups so it’s probably not the best place to go for a quiet candlelit dinner for two! Food was very good and served promptly. Upstairs it’s more of a nightclub — good(if slightly cheesey commercial) music and atmosphere.
