Excellent selection of draft beers and ales. Real food, I mean real food, not airport food, but delicious real food after a long day of travel, before a late night flight. The high top tables are nice because it allows you to stand a bit after or before a long flight when your butt has become numb and your knees stiff. Late night service is a bit slow but friendly none the less, just head up to the counter and give a smile, they are happy to serve you. You can hear all of the gate announcements easily from any table and it’s well lit so you won’t worry about forgetting your stuff, or having someone swipe something easily. Can’t wait to go back and try some more items on the menu.

Absolutely stunned at the positive reviews here. It’s the bog standard over priced airport stodgy rubbish but the beer was terrible and undrinkable. Nearly £40 for two poor burgers and two unfinished pints. Go with the boots meal deal.

I headed to terminal 2’s pub before jetting off to Budapest on a lunchtime flight. Being well prepared we arrived with our baggage with plenty of time for a drink and some food to take us through till the evening when we touched down in Hungry! We were both in the same mind in terms of wanting some good hearty English food so the decision for pub food was a fab choice. We both ordered some drinks; wine for me of course. Food wise, being on the same page meant we both went for the steak pie served on a bed of mash and red wine gravy. It promptly came out and honestly was soo much better than I thought! The gravy was nearly the best part, you could really taste the shriaz — as it was aptly named. The mash was creamy and smooth and the pie itself huge! Filled to the brim with meat and mushrooms with more gravy it really surpass my expectations! I’d say i’ll be back on my next flight however thats to Krakow at 7am — and even an avid pie lover I think thats slightly early…

As far as airport bars go, this is among my tops. They have a very wide ranging selection of beers and what not to choose from, which is great compared to the average airport bar that has 2 – 3 taps. It was all fairly reasonably priced, though you’ll pay a slight airport premium. The food was fine if nothing special. Certainly better than your average airport food, which is grim. Technically, this is an order at the counter place, though if you are alone and have bags, they will do table service. I was alone, and while it took a while to get someone’s attention, once I did the service was speedy and attentive. Great seating space too. I snagged a comfy chair and hung out there for the duration(I got to the airport way too early). Cons: You are out of the range of the airport wifi(and you only get an hour free at Manchester, what madness). There are no plugs for laptops(which given the first con is I guess less important). They could use 1 or two more monitors showing flight times and/or sports.

Airport food tends to be over-priced and lower quality, but this was pretty good by those standards. I went for the mini-burgers with a side of chips and everything was pretty good. The seating area is large and comfortable, with couches and comfy chairs. You take your table number and order at the bar, and get served at your table. Take note of there terrible/brilliant puns on the ‘newspaper’ that your chips come in
