Standard Subway shop, always busy especially when the students come back Sept/Oct time. Queues are always out of the door. The staff work fast and hard and give you a free cookie to say sorry busy times. Bread, salads always look fresh the manager and staff are always polite. Even if its busy you usually get served in about 10 mins. Its worth it for the free cookie :)

The food is always the same in a subway but the service in this one is worse than many. The workers seem to take offense at any type of delay or question about what they might be serving or whats available. If you know all about what subway serve and youve been to many before and just want a quick bite to eat its ok but if its a rare or first subway experience dont go here you wont get anything beyond the basic service.

Healthy alternative to its neighbouring McDonalds, however you will be paying nearly a fiver for a sandwich and a drink. Good quality mind along with quick and friendly service. Usually a bustling branch of Subway however at all times of the day so do expect a long queue at lunchtime and evening teatime.

Apparently ‘everyone loves Subway’. Oh dear, that means there must be something wrong with me then. Whilst I’ve never found their food to be all that bad, I’ve never actively sought out a Subway sandwich experience either(well, apart from that time where I was stuck in Preston and it was the only place to eat for miles around). Their bread has a strange sponge-y texture to it, their meat always tastes quite plastic-like, and their vegetables just seem to lack any taste whatsoever. Also, each store appears to have a rather distinct smell to it — a chemically stench of pretend baking which always puts me off the place whenever I walk past a branch. Saying that though, the last time I ate one of their Meatball Marinara subs it was rather satisfying, even if I did have to use a knife and fork when I was eating it to ensure that it didn’t slop all its sauce down my nice white shirt. And you can’t really complain considering that it was only £1.99 for six inches of meaty joy(£2.99 if you want to throw in a fizzy pop and a cookie). Subway has its fans, but I doubt I’ll ever really be one of them. However, it’s good to know that if I’m ever stuck in the middle of nowhere with only some loose change in my pocket, one of their outlets will probably be there.

This little Subway is staffed mainly by students. According to a couple of coursemates who had part time jobs here, it’s a great place to work. I think this is mainly as you get a free footlong sub after every shift worked. So if you’re a skint student looking for a job then this might not be a bad option. Otherwise it’s a very standard Subway with a few seats if you fancy eating in. Just like its next-door neighbour McDonald’s, it’s fine once in a while. I too, used to suffer from the sticky warm bready mess that Sam describes, but now I’ve got my subway ordering to a perfection this is no longer a problem. Mine’s a 6 inch tuna on Italian herbs and cheese, toasted with cheese, with all the salad apart from jalapeños and no sauce, thank you please. You could get a slightly cheaper sandwich from Gemini Café across the road, but apart from this there are no independent sandwich shops in the area, so quit your whining and get a sub of the day for £1.99(tuna is on Friday).

Whilst I can certainly agree with the popular opinion that, despite what they would have us believe, Subway are not sandwich artists, I have to give it three stars simply for being cheap. Sub of the day is £1.99? Excellent, especially since it’s not ridiculously unhealthy or anything. Adding £1.50 for a cookie and a drink is good to me. I can understand the whole ‘wanting to support an independent’ idea, but I don’t actually know that many independent, good sandwich bars. If I find one I’ll certainly review it.

Always a better option than McDonalds, but always a worse option than supporting any kind of independent sandwich place or café, Subways are just everywhere nowadays aren’t they? Rest assured, your baguette will look like it’s full of tasty little morsels and salads, but by the time you’ve put some garlic mayonnaise on it like I do, and it’s all wrapped up, it will just be a slightly warm, wet, bready mess. Which, unfortunately, is sometimes quite good. Especially when the ‘sub of the day’ only costs two quid. Subway is fine I guess. But sometimes I like to remember I’m British and that all I really want is a sausage and egg butty, and to my local independent sandwich shop I will go. You don’t do those, do you Subway?

Lordy. I was so hungover yesterday, I nearly found myself wandering into the fast food hell that is Subway. I’d been walking for a good half hour, my fingers and tootsies were starting to freeze and my appetite was starting to kick in. For approximately thirty seconds, the melted sandwiches in the window of Subway actually looked pretty tempting. I was about to open the door, walk in and order one when I read the words ‘Limited Edition, chicken, stuffing, cranberry sauce and gravy’. Some people might like those four ingredients in a roll. I’m not one of them. Realising my close escape, I kept on walking to Babylon Pizza where I celebrated New Year in true New York style. With a slice and a coffee!

If you’ve heard the new radio ad that proudly boasts how Subway have a sandwich fit any and every situation then you will know what desperation sounds like. If you want to see what desperation looks like, visit your local branch and peep through your fingers at the poor souls in line– as with the sun, it’s not advised that you look directly at them, too much sadness can actually blind you.

This place only gets three stars on nostalgia and service. I swear to god, the kids that work in this place are the friendliest bunch of fast food workers I’ve ever met in my life. The food however, is Subway so it’s pretty crappy – carb overload!

Subway is great for when you are in a hurry but don’t want another boring snack or unhealthy Macdonalds. The staff in this subway are really helpful and quick which is good for when you are on your lunch break and in a hurry. Subway do lots of sandwiches on different breads such as italian or honey oat. They also do a 1.99 sub of the day which is great for if you are on a tight budget. Several of their sandwiches can also be heated in the microwave or grilled. My personal fave is subway melt; chicken, ham and cheese. You can also choose whatever salad you want and from a variety of sauces. Subway do meal deals which include a drink and cookies or crisps which are aso good value for money.

Subway is overrated, and is NOT healthy. The food is like fake stuff! Salads are simple and dull. I think its overpriced too. Its ok/good for a hunger fix, but nothing more.

Subway is a godsend on a day when I am trying to consider what Im putting in my body whilst on a bit of a budget. The choice is sooo extensive that you could say maybe there’s too much choice?! You can choose between a variety of breads, fillings, salads, garnish and finally sauces to top it all off! I usually go for the 1.996″ sub-of-the-day which is always value for money — they are different every day which is good for those who have certain tastes i.e. if you(like me) really like a meatball marinara then Tuesdays are the day for you! Pop in and get it for 1.99 woop woop! They also offer meal deals which include crisps, soft drinks/water and cookies. The service is generally really fast and the portions are quite generous. Also, currently at this particular Subway(Im not sure about the others in Manchester) with every purchase you receive(or can request) a little book of discount vouchers which claims to save you over £40 on lovely Subway snashters… good eh.
