I’ve lived here 14 years and is a fantastic place to live, it’s bit like anywhere else in the city. It has a real community feel, neighbours that say hello and don’t just pass you by. A few residents have been here since it was built in 1990 as they live it so much. It’s very quiet and yet right in the city with loads of outside space and private gardens dotted about. It’s well maintained and not ageing like some of the newer builds around, the service charge is also pretty low. We’re self managed so don’t suffer all the usual issues with managing agents and are able to manage our own costs which keeps the service charge down and the village in great condition.

Piccadilly Village is a pleasant and peaceful housing complex based around the Rochdale Canal. Loads of the flats and maisonettes back out on to the canal, which really would be an awesome place to live, no? I walk through this area quite a lot as it’s a nice way to walk in or out of town. You could be in the countryside somewhere in a quiet little riverside village were it not for the low rumble of traffic from a few streets away.
