Having seen the review, I visited these little gardens as I am often nearby at Didsbury Cricket Club. Its a lovely little spot for a park lunch, and a very brief stroll as the gardens are pretty small. You’ll often be the only person there, which makes it perfect for a romantic picnic or suchlike rubbish that I never partake in. Also, you can visit the Fletcher Moss Park in the same swoop, and there are plenty of pubs nearby to stop for a beautiful beer, in which I do often partake. Also, go on the weekends during cricket season and you can sit around the cricket pitch at Didsbury Cricket Club and watch the game. You can almost make a day of this little leafy/puby area.

Unlike Fletcher Moss this little gardens remains well hidden, despite its close proximity to The Didsbury pub and the Wilmslow Road. It is also deceptively large, and well worth walking through the ornate gate behind the Cock Inn to get to. OK, so it’s not quite the Secret Garden, but we went on a warm summer’s day and were the only people there, which was a contrast from the hoards of families and couples which had taken over Fletcher Moss. The gardens are set around the Old Parsonage building, which was recently an art gallery but is now disused. The gardens are very colourful in the summer and there are plenty of benches to relax on. However, we went for the more adventurous option and decided to climb a tree. I can reliably inform you that there are many trees which almost look as if they are designed for climbing in these gardens. But sssssh, don’t tell everybody about it.
