This is the best place in Levenshulme in my opinion to eat. The restaurant itself, if you are eating inside is gorgeous. Although small and facing such a large restaurant, the charm of this place and the quality of the food is outstanding. I have never had a bad meal here. As it is a small business itself when they get quite busy service can sometimes be a little slow however it’s always worth the wait. Plus take away from here is always an option it’s just collect only.

Recommended. I have been coming here since it opened. A mixture of the familiar Indian dishes and Nepalese dishes. Equally interesting menu for vegetarians and meat and fish eaters. Full bar and an alternative to the nawaab opposite. Friendly staff and competitively priced. They do take away, delivery and pick up. If your looking to eat in Levenshulme it’s well worth a try. The starters are amazing too.

Great place with a lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. Came here for a quiet birthday curry and was not disappointed. We got the banquet menu which was so much food for 2 people we had to take some home!
The starters were the best part with the mains being a little too much and also some of vegetarian curries weren’t too tasty for me!
However I would return for the starters and cold beer! They have other kingfisher and cobra on tap– perfect to accompany a curry!

We originally found New Himalayas when we found Nawaab across the road was packed. It didn’t look like much from the outside and indeed it didn’t look anything spectacular inside either however this place, in my opinion is special.
The staff can’t do enough for you and the food is delicious (for both veggies and meat eaters). Fantastic Nepalese food, filled with fresh ingredients, delicious flavours and good portions.
This place doesn’t get very busy which is a shame but it always means there’s a table available. The staff make you feel very welcome.
Takeaway is just as good too.

The New Himalayas in Levenshulme is often overlooked. It’s proximity to Nawaab certainly doesn’t help. And while selfishly I’m quite pleased that it’s never overcrowded, it’s a shame that it doesn’t receive the attention it deserves.
Specialising in Nepalese food the menu is generous, offering a good range of curries and sizzling specialities. All tastes are catered for from mild to spicy to hot.
The services is very good and you’re always sure of a warm welcome. A local take-​away service is also available.
