Martin’s Swiss Confectioners

Can anyone triumph in the face of Gregg’s? Well, Martin seems to be giving it a go. There are a few of his Swiss Confectioners around Manchester — I’m not sure what exactly is Swiss about them to be honest but aren’t you a little intrigued about Martin?
They had ran out of jam donuts which was a big disappointment but I consoled myself with a Bakewell Tart. The little desserts on their bottom shelf may not look as good as their Mr. Kipling or Krispy Kreme counterparts but I can vouch for the taste.
Otherwise, they sold snacks, sandwiches, drinks and delicious looking bread. My boyfriend used to work in a bakery and has impressed upon me the difference in the taste between this and supermarket fare. I will never stray from my sacred White (loaf) though. None of this granary, seeds and nuts business.
