Lime

So far, my only visit to Lime on a Saturday night has left rather pleasant memories. I went with colleagues, and all of us have thoroughly enjoyed the night. Lime is found next door to Croma, which makes it a logical extension of the night out that started with a pizza. The one and only things I didn’t quite get was music: random Asian and Italian video clips playing on a big screen, barely heard. I have no doubt that Lime is great in all other respects, but music left me nonplussed.

I was shown/​taken here on Saturday with a few friends and let’s just say we didn’t stay long.
I’ll get the reasonable points out of the way first.
1) The décor looks nice and from what I heard from a friend the toilets are clean/​tidy.
2) This seems like the place to be if you like to pose/​shop at Top Shop/​Man and hang out with your clone-​like friends.
It appears my second point is rather negative, oh well
Firstly, the drinks are unreasonably expensive! £8.40 for two single vodka and cokes! Last time I checked, we weren’t in London! I should have bent over the bar, whilst you shafted my wallet with you obvious recession busting prices! And to top it off, it wasn’t that nice anyway!
Secondly the place was stupidly crowded, waited ages to get shafted financially for drinks at the bar, no seating areas and no comfortable standing areas which didn’t result in you getting shoved or trod on by Trendy Wendy and her clones.
My partner and I downed our expensive drinks and left, our friends left shortly afterwards.
Complete and utter pants!

On a night out in manchester I usually start off in here. It’s hidden away just off Albert square and it’s got a really good lively atmosphere inside. On the ground floor they play a lot of old skool rnb/​soul classics which is great and then downstairs there is a club open later on. The bar serves great cocktails and there are usually quite a lot of staff on so there’s not too much of a queue at the bar.

Its a great bar to go for a drink after work, to start of finish your night in.
The staff are great and theres always a fair few of them on as it gets quite busy, so at least you’re not waiting too long to get a drink.
At night time theres always good music on and on some nights and at weekends theres sublime downstairs which always has great music on whenever Ive been.
The bar/​club is always clean and tidy and there are a good number of toilets so the queues don’t get toooo long.
A night out in Manchester’s not complete with out at least one drink in Lime.

This place is a fairly large bar/​restaurant, with a downstairs club. I’ve had many a great night out here on a Saturday night, good cocktail list, and the music is your usual cheesy/​commercial stuff but great if you just want a fun dance with your mates without being surrounded by pretentious people.
Crowd is mid-​late 20s, well dressed but up for fun not posing! The upstairs is free entry but the club downstairs charges 3.00, and is open til the small hours on a Fri/​Sat night.

I had a great night out here just before Christmas. There was a great atmosphere even though it was very busy. There is a fantastic little cocktail bar hidden behind the main bar, which is great for avoiding the queue. My girlfriend was impressed with the variety and quality of the wine and cocktail list. I thought the staff where very friendly even though it was so busy. Best of all is the music: funk and soul and a bit of R&B on the ground floor and the club downstairs is wicked. Top night all round.

Lime bar is an ok place to go for a quiet drink or before a club. The music is house and the drinks are reasonable. The interior is great, the bar is very bright– with lime green lights. They serve excellent cocktails and their club has a good atmosphere– although the music could be better. Recommended.

A neon place just off Albert Square, this bar is ideal for a post-​work g&t, or a pre-​clubbing cocktail. With decent dance music, cool seating areas, an basement club called, cleverly, Sublime, and a surprisingly good food menu, its difficult to dislike, unless of course you’re not a fan of lime green…
