Evans Evans Evans, I have a friend who plain refuses to go in here, she thinks it’s a bloody travesty, her words not mine, that someone is making brightly patterned shapeless sacks and charging too much money for them. Hmmm. Harsh I think. I went in with her and pointed out various tops and things that actually were very pretty. Evans has shed some of it’s strictly middle aged and beyond image, and now seems to incorporate more younger styles, and isn’t mortifying for younger girls to be seen going in. Plus it helps that Evans has started advertising their sizes starting from a 14, psychological impacts and all that, less alienation from the standard high street size 8 – 18 brackets. This Evans seemed well laid out, with sections split into day wear, work wear, and then underwear and footwear and accessories. I thought the underwear section was genius. Everything was very thoughtful in it’s design, and every shopper is made to feel comfortable as they shop. Being part of the Arcadia group, it was easy enough to nip through to next door for Dorothy Perkins and have a gander over there too.

Evans, as they say is for ‘real’ sizes. Sometimes I feel calling them ‘real’ sizes is not that great, because to be honest, every size is real, some people are paper thin, some thin, some a little more and some very voluptous. But they’re all real people and they’re all real women. Coming back to the store, it is quite a lovely store, with good, styled clothing for women. A little older women perhaps. It has a very comfortable feel to it and makes you want to browse through more. This is a good sign. What I did not like would be that I found the clothes to be a little boring. They were too plain and needed some jazz in them. But, as I said before, older women might prefer this than a fully jazzy top or dress. Other than this, the prices are great and when women do come out of the trial rooms, the cuts do make them look nice! Evans is just another real store, in a real world.

Evans caters for real women who are real sizes. Unlike many plastic celebs that appear on our T. V screens we are not all paper thin with massive kahootas… we are all different sizes with lovely humps and bumps. I myself not a size that means I have to shop in Evans however I have been into this shop a few times with friends and I have to say the shop is great. The cuts of the clothes are really fashionable and flattering and the costs are not as high as you would expect. Let Evans make you feel beautiful and proud of your body… Oh I am getting all Gok on you aren’t I. …‘It’s all about the confidence :)’

I like Evans. I’m not going to get into all that ‘real women’ shite– I’m not married to Rooney and I’m pretty sure that even skinny women are real, I’ll also bet that they have hang ups and body image issues just like the rest of us so I’m not getting on that band wagon of slim hate. All I’ll say is that Evans is a more realistic store, where everyone feels comfortable as everyone is catered for. The women who work in store obviously love their jobs and couldn’t be more helpful or involved. The prices are reasonable and the trends current. Nice place, nice people.

Evans is a clothes shop especially for those ladies who are not a size zero! The clothes are made for those of us who have voluptuous curves and would like to wear something stylish or sexy! They have all the latest fashions and trends from size 14 up to around a size 30 I think! They also sell shoes which are made for wide feet and legs and go up to larger sizes than most other high street shoe shops. They sell underwear for larger ladies and nice bras that go up to decent sizes! They usually have a nice selection of jewellery and bags too. I really like this shop, it just proves that you don’t have to be a size zero to look nice or to wear fashionable clothes!
