How in this day and age can anywhere have a ‘no women in the shop’policy — they should be shut down.

For any guy with super curly hair, you will know the pain of trying to find a good barber. Most haircuts involve a week of looking like you’ve done it yourself before it grows enough to look partway presentable. Stop looking and get yourself down to Barber Barber, excellent service, top venue, and best of all(it is a barber after all) great haircuts. Cannot recommend it enough. Get there early as there’s no appointments, just queue to be seen and they are so good you can almost guarantee a queue.

Great set up and atmosphere, but worst haircut Ive had in along time, the lad that did it just didn’t listen to what I asked for, going to take months to get the length back

The only place to get a haircut in Manchester! A completely warm and friendly service with free beverages(alcoholic or non alcoholic). A beautiful vintage themed barber shop tucked away in a Victorian arcade which very much suits the feel. For a small fee you can even have a traditional cut throat shave. Safe to say the best haircut experiences/haircuts I have ever had. London, Los Angeles, New York? No thanks I’ll stick to Manchester.

As you walk into BarberBarber you will be greeted with a warm and friendly service with free beverages(alcoholic or non-alcoholic). A beautiful vintage themed barber shop tucked away in Barton Arcade which very much suits the feel. The interior of the place is gorgeous — think Victorian barbershop, right down to the gents getting cut-throat shaves

«Man cave» is the phrase which springs to mind about BarberBarber. A gentleman’s grooming parlour, no women allowed(literally — they send them to wait outside). The interior of the place is gorgeous — think Victorian barbershop, right down to the gents getting cut-throat shaves — and blends in really well with the style of Barton Arcade. No appointments allowed — just turn up and join the queue. This has pros and cons because on the one hand, you can just drop in but on the other if you pick a busy time you can have a long wait. The real stars here are the barbers. Their attention to detail in incredible and I can honestly say I’ve had some of the best haircuts of my life here. Someone once told me that the difference between a barber and a hairdresser is that the barber offers identicut styles whereas the hairdresser works with your hair and gets to know you and your preferences. BarberBarber sits somewhere between the two — the fast turnaround means you get your hair cut by whoever is free next, so you don’t have that same personal relationship you have with a hairdresser. But the styles are far from identical — these guys really know their craft and turn out some great work. So why not five stars? One simple thing — sometimes the laddish culture of the place gets a bit much, and I’ve seen folks having conversations with lots of swearing right next to a young(primary school age) child having a hair cut.

A well thought out and equally well executed barbershop. The no woman rule is kind of funny, but kind of pointless. The free drinks is a nice touch although not really appropriate when I like to go in at 10am. The queue is ridiculous at times, even with all 4 chairs in full swing, an hour or more is common for a hair cut. This place is a modern classic — the guys are friendly and well trained, and the place is obviously clean and well run. The boom of lumberjack beards in Manchester doesn’t do anything to help the queue time as once self-respecting men now debate which beard oil to opt for, or how thick to keep their sideburns. For a simple guy with a simple hair cut, I do love the attention to detail here, but not sure I’ll keep returning for long if I have to commit half of my Saturday to waiting, for a 10 minute sit in the barber chair. Having said that, I really can’t fault the place.

It’s a great little throwback vintage-themed haircut parlour. It’s the perfect place to get a classic no-nonsense haircut. The hairdressers are friendly. The best part about this place is free alcohol at the mini bar. Unfortunately this place does not allow women in.
