A decent sized stationary and bookstore in the Arndale Centre. It’s generally a bit untidy, and there seems to be an inordinate number of magazines available, however, if you know the book you want you can always order it in specially. Downstairs you can find the childrens’ book section as well as a decent map and travel section. Overall the fiction and literature is basically non-existent except for the current best sellers. Basic stationary can also be found here

A fairly typical branch of Smiths, with a decent selection of magazines, books, CDs, DVDs, toys, and assorted stationery of various types. The layout is a little cramped, if truth be told, and the magazine aisle is always crammed full of people reading, but if you can put up with that, it’s a good place to pick up most stationery and books that you’re likely to need.

This is a very huge shop with few stuff in basement. They sell a wide range of newspapers, magazines, stationery, books and entertainment products and gifts. The books are always on offer. They have even a facility of ordering for the books which are not currently available on shelf. Recently they have introduced a privilege club and offer monthly money off vouchers to its members. The lift in this store is so small that it is very difficult to accommodate a buggy. Staff is friendly and helpful.

this is quite a large store and all the staff are really friendly, whsmiths is filled to the brim with books galore. it has a great section downstairs with childrens book but i always find wh smiths to be rather expensive unless they ahve a specific offer on something that i want then i wouldnt bother buying books fomr here. they also sell dvds and games. we recentley brought journey to the centre of the earth from here as it was out of stock everywhere else so this shop came in handy then.

sometimes the staff are a little slow at helping. have a huge selection of magazines and stationery on the first floor and then you can go downstairs to the kids books etc.
