Costa Coffee-Luton Arndale Centre

costa has one of the better chain coffee tastes, nice décor, nice team generally decent, there are a few horror places however this was clean, well kept and team kept the place in tip top shape, well done guys

Bad Points
Slow when busy.
Lot of dirty dishes and trays lying about even when not busy, usually when certain staff are on.
Some staff are rude. Good Points
Coffee quality is great.
Food quality is good.
Opens later than other local Coffee Shops.

I don’t drink coffe, hate the stuff, but I love costa for the hot chocolate. Pricey yes, but worth it for a treat!

Ho hum. Costa is a bit bland for my liking. There’s so much choice when it comes to coffee chains that I don’t see any particular reason to go to Costa. The coffee is a bit ordinary, the seating area is usually crowded, and I have no idea why the staff are so brusque and unfriendly, but they are. Frankly I don’t know why people bother — probably because there is no competition (no Starbucks or Nero in Luton). Don’t bother.

Every time I walk into Costa Coffee I get excited about having a ‘real’ coffee drink. And every time I’m disappointed in some way or other. The staff is inattentive and there are generally not enough of them. When you need a table they seem to all have left over coffee cups on them, and if you try to clear them to a counter top the staff get mad at you for cluttering up their space.
Possibly most disappointing is the fact that the worst service I’ve had is generally from the managers themselves. The drinks are adequately prepared at best, often not hot enough, or with too many shots or too few shots of flavour. Their iced drinks are far too strong — especially the lemony one. I took two sips and threw it straight away. I just wish there was another decent coffee shop in town.

Costa is the latest coffee shop addition to hit The Mall Arndale, and boy are we glad. Lets face it the Arndale centre is hardly hip and happenning but the more big names it attracts the better it will get. I love Costa over all the brands of coffee out there so it was sure to be a big hit with me, but I like the use of space outside the shop converted into tables and its always clean and friendly.
