It’s a shame the last reviewer didn’t taste the Thai food. Yes it’s an English pub but the Thai food is excellent. I have eaten there many times and it has never lost anything. Friendly service, good(no very) good food. I will certainly be going back.

5 Star! After a false start at another restaurant down the road, we came to Robin Hood. Man, I am sure happy we did! Tucked into an old fashioned pub, this family run Thai restaurant is a hidden gem. We arrived for Christmas Eve dinner. They were kind, accommodating and even had traditional Christmas Crackers out for the guests. We drank, cracked and wore our paper crowns with joy while gobbling up some of the best Thai I have ever had! Pad See-Yu, Pad Thai, Green Curry, Massaman, Prawns and my favorite in the world, Tom Kha Gai! Amazing. If you have reason to be in or around the Queen’s Forest of Epping… Go! You will be delighted! My overseas visitors wanted to try out a traditional English public house. Well it might have fitted this description a few years ago, but no longer. The exterior is certainly authentic but after that, forget it. To be fair, the staff seemed friendly enough and we didn’t try the Thai food(which is the pub’s main claim to fame), but the soapy cheese in the ‘mature cheddar’ Ploughman’s lunch was nothing to write home about. Has anyone seen that TV ad for Kwik Fit, where the mechanic hypnotises the irritating child? Well, the whole time we were having our lunch, a five year old boy(obviously a relative of the owner), was running all over the pub, alternating between repeatedly bashing the jelly bean machine with an empty plastic bottle and practising his Kung Fu kicks while screaming in Thai. About five minutes before we left, our heads throbbing from the constant onslaught, one of the staff apologised, explaining the child was bored. Really?
