I come and eat here frequently, mostly in the evening when it’s not crowded when everywhere else is. The food is good and the price as well, they only sometimes seem to forget to bring the Miso soup but when you remind them they quickly come and bring it. It shouldn’t be like that but I got used to it. I often also order food instead of taking it from the conveyor belt, only the cold dishes anyway because warm food gets quickly cold on the belt. It’s also more common practice in Japan to ask the cook what you want anyway and I’m doing it here as well. I love the area where the Yo! Sushi is and if you listen well, you hear St Paul’s in the background. Nice London feeling with a small Asian touch. The sushi bar is 5 min from St Paul’s Station on the Central Line and right in front of the bus stop St Paul’s Cathedral served by the buses 4,(N)11,(N)15, 17, 23,(N)26, 76, 172 and N21.

Came here on a Blue Monday, this place is just bad, from the presentation of the rolls to how timely my orders came, it was just bad. I know it’s just Monday but no excuse, you are located by St Paul’s and can’t serve like this. My salmon rolls tasted like it just came out of the freezer. Try some where else I should have known better from the review rating;(

Decided to take advantage of the blue plate January offer after work. This branch is my nearest to work so I went along to find there were only seats near the door. Fair enough, it can’t be that bad. It was 2° outside so this turned out to be a mistake. The door to the restaurant did not close properly, leaving it 6″ open every time someone came in or out. The restaurant was quite busy and so my partner and I had to get up about 20 times during our meal to close it. It was freezing inside because of this. By the time we were ready to leave, I was pretty annoyed about this. I noticed our waitress was wearing a fleece so I asked about the door. She told me that the heating was broken too. It was annoying putting up with that for 45 mins, I can’t imagine how awful your staff must be feeling. HSE regulations suggest that 16 ° is the reasonable minimum temperature for employees(workplace regulations 1992). I think this is probably a good temperature for customers too.

Average mass marketed/produced Sushi Got a long hair in a sushi piece. Also saw an employee pick up sushi from one side of belt and put it on another side of it to make it look like freshly prepared. Sneaky!

This place was not good at all. I walked in on a pretty dreary day and as soon as I walked in I had feeling it was going to be average. But I do love in Asia so get quality sushi consistently. However it was well below an average sushi. We ended up not eating 3 of our plates. Plus it was quite an expensive place for Japanese.

Waste of calories. Same 5 or 6 things are on the conveyor, all salmon, rarely any other fish or creativity. Fish was warm so texture was gross. Plenty of better sushi within a few blocks.

Yikes. My friend and I came in on a Sunday and there were a few occupied seats. They had their 10 plates for 20£, with a few exceptions, of course.(We passed on this«deal») We decided to just stop by for a quick bite since we were meeting up with a friend for dinner in two hours. There was way too much food on the rotating belt for the amount of people there. Who knows how long that food has been on there. Sushi was meh but service was good. Waiter was attentive but the chef who took an order from us was lackadaisical. Rice was stale. Also, for the price you pay a la carte, go somewhere else! It was expensive but then again, I’m not from this side of the pond…

Worst fast food sushi ever. The employees prepping the dishes were rude and the waiters outside the belt do not pay attention to customers. The«specials» plates on the belt were not fresh with few selection. Be careful when you order anything from the actual menu and confirm the price before you order them. Double check your bill. I would not come back even it meant I have nothing else to eat. Yuck! Sushi it should rename itself.

Tasteless miso, shrivelled sashimi, soggy rice and to top it off I already feel sick to my stomach. Worst sushi I’ve ever had, and it cost me… dum dum dum… £15

Conveyor belt concept is nice. You can grab what looks good with no wait. A couple issues one might have with this– –the food on the conveyor belt was cold. Kind of a bummer. Stupid tip I SHOULD’VE figured out before I started grabbing 50, 000 plates– try to grab the plates that have steam on the inside of the lid still, chances are it’s more fresh and maybe a little warmer. –we went when they were having a special. 2.50 per plate. All the plates were blue. same price for any plate grabbed. Good deal but the selection wasn’t the greatest. Take a second to look at all the choices and the informative placemat before grabbing stuff to try. If it doesn’t seem appetizing– order something cooked fresh from an employee instead. the sushi wasn’t the best i’ve ever had, and i’m assuming they don’t put the best stuff on the cheap plates buzzing around. maybe a special order might produce better results? eggrolls were flavorless and overall the food was subpar. Maybe i would enjoy this place more at a different time when they offer different colored plates/variety to choose from. The cheap deal blue plates held nothing special. I think the only reason I grabbed as many plates as I did is because I was REALLY hungry and I was hoping that eventually I would find something that actually had some flavor and tasted GOOD. also kind of bummed, we were shown our seats and never got an explanation from the employee that ran off on how everything worked. we kind of had to figure it out ourselves by staring at everything like a bunch of idiots. yet he took the time to explain everything to the next couple that came in… derp. overall I can’t hate this place because it’s an interesting dining concept, good location for hungry sightseers, and the place was decent enough inside. Like I said– the lunch special selection didn’t wow me… maybe at a different time, the food might be better…

we went here for a sushi making course that we got as a gift from red letter days. it was a really fun day and for the money you get the chance to make and eat A LOT of sushi which is great. it was really interesting learning all about the history of the food and then being talked through how to make it. the only thing was that this is a really busy and noisy restaurant so often it was hard to hear what the instructor was saying — located right outside st pauls cathedral(we could see a wedding going on which was nice) there were lots of people coming and going. we were seated right at the back of the restaurant and again because there were so many of us and one instructor it was s struggle to hear. i think they should make the courses a bit more intimate so that you can get the full advantage of the teacher — as making sushi is quite technical! the goody bag you get at the end was really good though, with the chopsticks and mat and a certificate and like i said a MASSIVE box of sushi that youve made! recommended for a cool date night

Das Restaurant ist ganz«hipp» mit diesen Laufbändern auf denen die Speisen durch den Laden fahren. Das Sushi ist ganz ok. Mittags kann man hier gut essen.

I am by myself on a business trip and the format of having food zip past me seemed to be a better option than sitting by myself at some other restaurant. That said, the sushi is just average at best and most is very much directed at the entry level sushi person. Most is either Salmon or chicken based, with tuna a rarity and a special request. No biggie, it is just clear that who they are targeting. While no sushi was bad, it wasn’t great either. I guess you get what you pay for at £2.50 a plate for two pieces. It was eating, not a dining, experience.

I was wary of having sushi in London. It was only made worse when we went inside and it took a while to be seated despite only a couple other groups in the restaurant. I ordered two dishes and after 30 min it still hadn’t come. Someone came around and asked how I was doing so I told her I was still waiting for my dishes. I then see her helping the cooks make sushi. But still none of the dishes I ordered comes. So when I get the bill I tell the guy none of the dishes I ordered came. At least he knocked off one of the dishes I ended up sharing with my friend.

My friend who moved over to London took me here for lunch and I must say I had an enjoyable experience. The small«Pacman» themed restaurant is something quite humorous and comical. The sushi was fresh and and the choices were interesting. As i can recall, this place had great customer service, If I’m ever back in the UK and I’m craving for sushi, I would definitely hit up Yo! Sushi.

Solid sushi in the UK when you have a craving, and pretty much as reasonably priced as you will find in the UK(but still no where near as good or cheap as sushi in NYC). The belt usually has what you want, and they will make whatever you want if they dont. Just be prepared, it is really easy to run up a big bill here.

I still dont see what the fuss is about it. Too expensive for the quantity/quality of food. You can eat in Benihana for the same money. I will give it a new go though.

Before studying abroad, I had heard about Yo! Sushi quite a bit. Sure enough when I got to London, I noticed that there were a lot of them! Of course, with the bright colors, cool-modern décor and seemingly clean, rotating sushi, I just had to try the place out at least once. A few of my friends and I decided to drop by for lunch after our class had a tour of St Paul’s Cathedral. The place was packed with business men and a younger crowd. Service was quick and friendly and the conveyer belts were neat and tidy, not to mention lots of fun! Although I had a pretty bad cold at the time, I couldn’t not try an array of different dishes — some more pricey than others. My total ended up being roughly 20 British pounds. I didn’t expect the sushi and sashimi to be as fresh as they were. You can also order other dishes like handrolls, yakisoba, and fried rice. They were all decent, especially compared to some other similar places I’ve since tried in the States. Overall, the price is a bit high, although not bad for London. It’s a fun, nice place to relax and enjoy solid sushi. I would definitely introduce friends and family to this UK-based sushi place!

Décor and ambiance were cool, but food left something to be desired. The water spouts on teh table were FANTASTIC as I could self serve there, though the food selection/inventory was not as good. I was there around 4:30PM, so that could explain why there was little selection on teh belt and I had to order everything i wanted myself. Good thing about that is it ‘s a bit more fresh — bad thing was that I had to wait for the food longer than I expected, considering there were only 2 other parties in restaurant at that time. The real dealbreaker for me was that they had NONOODLES available on teh menu this day, so taht meant no udon, yakisoba, ramen, etc… very limiting for a Japanese restaurant, where I’m still not sure how you can be so completely out of noodles. So, I ordered a noodle dish first, and was told to pick something else. I then order a duck roll, and was told that there was no duck… so I just asked what is available actually… The quality of the sushi was ok, though the seaweed salad had too mcuh dressing that made it too salty. I also tried the curry katsu chicken, and found that to be a strange combination… I ended up scooping most of the curry sauce out because that was too salty a combination for me too. I did like that they had good tasting mochi(so hard to find in Cincinnati) and the shrimp tempura was very good! Prices were high though… so take your risk with this place and hope they actually have the food for their menu in stock when you go!

What a fun place. We were touring St. Paul’s Cathedral when it was time for a lunch break. My husband is a big sushi fan and gets to go to places like this sometimes in japan on business, but I’ve never been to one. The sushi came around on a conveyor belt and you could pick whatever you wanted. The were in different color bowls that determined the price range. The sushi was pretty good. But I had a spicy chicken salad which wasn’t good. It needed dressing. You had to pay one pound for water, but it was unlimited. I still wasn’t used to this whole paying for water thing they do in Europe. At one point I muttered that no edamame had come around. The sushi chef all of a sudden handed me some. It was weird, but cool. There was a button you could have pressed if you wanted them to make you something you didn’t see. There was a tip jar after. I think we were the only people who tipped them. I would definitely try Yo Sushi again.

This hit the spot, and I especially loved the water spouts on the table tops! The sushi quality tasted great and fresh to me, though I did think the price was a bit high in general(but not for London :)) I’d totally come back here to eat again.
