OMG, I’m still burping monosodium glutamate 12 hours later!
An insult to Cornwall.
I didn’t expect it to be a healthy snack, just something filling after a long day. But it was the worst takeaway ever experienced.
Get back to basics. Pastry, meat and veg. Cut the preservatives and fake flavouring.

So the pasties here aren’t always the best. I’ve had some really bad ones(fish and chips? terrible). But on the whole I’m always happy with them, especially the traditional ones. Plus this place is conveniently located at King’s Cross quite near to the platforms we often take to get home, so it’s always super awesome when you’re heading home late at night from a night(or day) out of boozing and you REALLY need something to fill you up and soak up the alcohol in your stomach. They’re open late too, and that’s perfect for grabbing a pasty before a late night train home.

This is a chain where they make pasties — it was awesome to try it out in London, in front of the British Library. There was a little stand, and I tried their Traditional Cornish Pasty(prime skirt beef layered with potatoes, swede, onions, salt and pepper) and the Steak & Silton Pasty(prime skirt beef with stilton crumb, vegetables, and white pepper) — it was warm, flaky, and had a good amount of filling, and definitely could be a meal on its own. I would like to go back and try the other variety! +Steak & Stilton Pasty +pasty cart

Chain Pasty Company located just outside of King’s Cross Station. Pretty good quality and at £3.15 for a regular pasty, it’s relatively cheap by the standards of the area.

West Cornwall Pasty is a chain to be seen at most London train stations. There are several such pasty chains but this one is head and shoulders above the others. The pasties are really hearty and delicious and their chicken and veg pasty has a special place in my heart. Nothing beats it for a filling, portable dinner. Prices are very reasonable as well.
