I wasn’t too familiar with the area, but I was recommended this place by a local business owner and I can definately see why. Martha and Darren you are both fantastic! I loved the pizza, the customer service and the overall atmosphere. What I especially love about this place is that they keep everything local — the Cider is from Hoxton, the Pizzas are named after near-by locations(Stoke Newington, London Fields.) etc. They tailor to all groups of sizes too. Me and my friend had a table for two, but next to us they moved tables around to create a table for six, and was very attentive to the gentleman in crutches. I’d definitely recommend it.

Horrible pizza: burnt outside and raw dough inside(see picture). Poor service and long waiting times. We will certainly not go back

This is a superb pizza place, personally I think it’s some of the best pizza I’ve had in London although to be honest I don’t think pizza is something that London does especially well on the whole. The pizzas are thin and judging by the taste are made with high quality ingredients, prepared and cooked very well. The starters we had here were also delicious, the garlic was very garlicy and all the ingredients rich and flavoursome! You can also choose from a range of drinks here including one of my favourites Karma Cola, and various craft beers are on the menu too. One of the best things is there’s no additional charge for adding extra toppings, so you can put as many different toppings on your pizza as you want and still pay the same price. The staff are quite attentive and friendly, and very happy to answer any questions you may have about the food! There’s a happy hour between 3pm and 6pm where starters and drinks are half price, so well worth a visit if you’re hungry during those times.

Back in London and freshened up for a Tuesday pub crawl, we’d only ventured a short distance from our flat when we came upon the sidewalk sandwich board sign indicating 2 for 1 Happy Hour at Wedge Issue. This is an inviting pizzeria along busy Clerkenwell Road in the very nice neighborhood of Farringdon. We were greeted by the owners, an extremely friendly Canadian couple(I’ve yet to meet an unfriendly Canadian!) I only had the rosemary and garlic strips to nosh on, but they were fantastically flavorful. We enjoyed 2 bottles of wine as well. If I’d had more time, I’d definitely return. To those visiting or living in the neighborhood, I’d give a hearty endorsement of Wedge Issue based on the vibe of the surroundings and the owners alone.

I’ve gotta say, my crew was all very impressed with everything at Wedge Issue. Out for the day in Clerkenwell to check out a couple new places and gather intel for a future pub crawl with friends, and we made sure Wedge Issue was included. It was a great call, too. Owned by a Canadian couple, the place had a welcoming vibe. The owners bought the place from the guy that started the business as Real Man Pizza Company and what ended as the Free Speech and Liberty Pizza at the end of 2015. They covered up the red walls, and painted all of the open rooms a neutral dark beige colour, and finished the look with wooden tables and chairs. You can watch your pizza being made from start to finish in their open space surrounding the pizza oven. When we went in, we noticed that starters and beers were on happy hour specials(50% off) from 3−6pm, and as we still had 30 minutes, we jumped right in. We ordered four pitchers for the table, as well as the Pesto Pomodoro and Rosemary Pizza Breads to share. Though there was some kind of misunderstanding in the kitchen and they didn’t arrive until our pizzas arrived, we enjoyed them both very much. Especially the Rosemary one. So delicious. What I find unique and awesome is that for £8.50, you can select everything — the sauce, cheese(s), toppings, etc. I chose to get the standard crust with a sauce of olive oil and some garlic on it, Bufala mozzarella cheese and grilled pineapple. So delicious. The pizzas are wood fired and delicious. Most of the group I was with ordered from the menu, making little additions here and there, but everyone was happy with their order. Even my friend who ordered the Calabrese(N’duja sausage, peppers, chilli, mozzarella and tomato sauce) with added anchovies, grilled pineapple and gorgonzola cheese, loved his, even though the combination turns my stomach. We will be back for sure.

This pizza shop has Italian style pizza with American service. The pizza and the pasta were both great and came out quickly. Very few beers on draft, but the one I tried was very good and reasonably priced. There are a few options for dessert that all sounded amazing but we got a caramel banana pizza that was great. The crust was chewing with a slightly sweet sauce. I highly recommend checking out this place if you want some Italian food!

Excellent Xmas bash we had here! The garlic bread was so gorgeous, it almost brought tears to my eyes. Crunchy, yummy and oh-so-garlicky! Also tried the generously-pestoed flatbread, and a variety of perfectly thin and crusty pizzas. My favourite was the simple Margherita, just exquisitely done. The chilli oil was actually spicy(win!) and the owners were super-friendly and hospitable, even when they were busy bringing out pizza after pizza from their authentic oven. Class: D
