I had a large 20 pax group booking for dinner on NYE and the whole experience was superb from the get go. The reservations/events team were friendly, responsive and accommodating. We arrived to a semi-private upstairs area perfect for group dining and shortly after were served a delicious seasonal feasting menu. Everything was standout and my fav was the yorkshire pudding with terrine. Great service on the night(sorry if we were a bit loud)! Highly recommend for groups!

Overpriced. Ordered the chicken and bacon salad. A few cubes of bacon, with some roasted chicken in a measly bit of field greens for 14 pounds. The only dressing they had was a honey-mustard type. Very bland, with minimal flavor. The staff was attentive and polite, but not very welcoming. The protruding balls of a nosering, hanging out the nostrils of our waitress didn’t help make any of the menu items more appetizing. Overall, not very satisfying, for the palate or the wallet.

The steak sandwich lunch special was awesome, but the dinner steak lacked any flavor

The environment is very nice. Big with a high ceiling, cool decoration. The food was excellent. We had a steak and it was very well made and tasty. Dessert was also great(ice cream with chocolate). I am giving them a 4 because I thought the place was a bit too noisy(there were kids screaming a lot).

Interesting atmosphere but not sure I will go again… The food looked good and tasted average. The service was fairly good but it is pricy for what you get. I also feel they lack variety on the menu. If you are an art lover who loves meat in its raw sense, you would love this place.

A good steak place, the meat was well cooked… Not specifically seasoned like some places but decent enough. Sides were standard with no real frills. Steak is served with a selection of mustard which I thought was a good touch. Beers are a bit on the pricey side bit the selection is ok. Venue is very spacious, there are lots of tables that can cater for up to 8 people and booths for a more intimate experience. The venue is impressive very spacious with art work from Damien Hurst(who is famous!!) Price ppintnia probably above what I would want to pay for the over all product but good for a treat.

For starters we went with the Cock ‘n’ bull croquettes– made with a ground beef and chicken mixture with mashed potato and deep fried and Beefballs ‘McIlhenny.’ Our favorite was definitely the Beefballs, a MUST! Whether you live in London or just passing through, Tramshed is one stop you have to make. I promise it will be an unforgettable meal.

Came here to get the roasted chicken but we also wanted to try other things. Do exactly as I say below and you won’t be sorry! For 2 people sharing: We ordered the Yorkshire Pudding, Cock n’ Bull Croquettes, half roasted chicken, side salad, salt and vinegar onion rings and it was more than enough food. Yorkshire pudding — pâté was whipped, smooth and fabulous with the popover bread. Croquettes — delicious with the mustardy/mayo sauce it came with. Half roasted chicken — very tasty and just enough for the both of us. We saw couples getting ONLY the whole roasted chicken and it was too much for them to finish. I personally like to have a variety of flavors so I was happy with our selection of dishes. The half portion and the whole portions both come with chips. Onion Rings — not usually a fan of onion rings because they usually end up soggy. These were so crispy even to the last bite. Very delicious, one of my favorites! Salad — came with a light mustard vinaigrette. I always need some greens or veggies with my meal. Didn’t get dessert this time but I will definitely come back to try it.

LOVE this place. Its my go-to when I’m visiting London. The food is delicious, the bar menu is great, and the staff is as friendly as they can be. Oh did I mention the giant cow and chicken in the center of the restaurant? Its such a fun vibe. I usually go for lunch.

Absolutely amazing. The food was excellent, the place is remarkable and the staff are brilliant. The art is also pretty cool, cow and chicken at one end, a fermented cow in the middle and very cool décor. So we went for out 6 month anniversary and as I booked, I happened to mention this with the booking. We ordered the salmon starts to share, a beautifully cooked steak which just melted in my mouth, and then came desert, the cheesecake… It arrived with ‘happy anniversary’ written round the plate in chocolate. They went that extra mile and made the evening really special. I appreciate what the waitresses and kitchen staff did for us and we’ll be back very soon — I’ll try not to make it the year anniversary!

By far one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. I came for lunch and went for one of their £10 specials, the cock n’ bull sandwich. I also ended getting the pork crackling and apple sauce nibble/starter, which was amazing but make sure you’ve got teeth made out of steel as it was pretty hard to eat. The sandwich was made up of half chicken and half beef. Beef is cooked perfectly but you’re aren’t asked your preference of rare, medium/rare when you order, so could be an issue for a fussy eater. The chicken had to be the star, it had an amazing herbed crust and I wished the whole sandwich was chicken. You also get a huge bowl fries with it and some onion rings. So big I wish I hadn’t had got the crackling. Atmosphere is great and I could see this place being a great venue to bring large groups.(Visit — 18/06/2015 Lunch)

When you walk in, the first thing you see is the massive work of art by Damien Hirst. A massive formaldehyde sculpture of a cow with a chicken on its back, in a holding tank on top of a massive stel pedestal in the middle of the restaurant. AWESOME. On the staff’s recommendation, I ordered the 1 kilogram Porterhouse. 1000g of monster steak comprised of the fillet and sirloin sitting each side of the bone. For the non-metrics among you, that’s 2.2 lbs or over 35 ounces! Don’t worry, I didn’t tackle this beast alone. I had the help of two friends, but chosen for their smaller appetites, it’s all about strategy going into this! The steak was served a perfect, pink and juicy medium rare and carved at the table by a steady hand. It arrived on a massive chopping board accompanied by fries and unlimited béarnaise and mustard sauces. The beef at Tramshed comes from Shorthorn, Hereford and Aberdeen Angus breeds, hand-picked from the Swainson House Farm in Lancashire as I mentioned earlier. Despite the variety in breed, the one thing they all share is dry aging in a Himalayan salt chamber. I don’t know what that is, but it sounds magical, mystical, and fantastic. Now I’m primarily a ribeye man, going for that nice ribbon of fat in the middle cooked to a medium level to melt it smoothly into the surrounding meat. But I gotta say, a Porterhouse is a perfect sharing cut at Tramshed. The Fillet offers a less flavorful, but more melt-in-your-mouth texture and the sirloin packs a punch of flavor with its ribbon of fat and more bite. When the judges scorecards were added up, the Sirloin portion prevailed as the favorite of the table. At £75, the 1000g portion easily served three and I believe it’s worth the price. It’s steak, unsullied by anything fancy, just straight to the point! I go into some more detail on my site, but I highly recommend this place!

A very cool and weird place. We sat at the bar and had the chicken and steak. It seemed like chicken was the thing to get as everyone was ordering it and it was quite good. They give you plenty of dipping sauces for it as well which was nice. Great presentation of food and a unique place to stop and eat if you are in London.

Really really disappointing. Came here around March time. Table of 12 of us. We were assigned only one waiter for the entire table. The waiter was surly and rude. he was unfriendly and didn’t explain the menu. he didn’t introduce himself and generally looked annoyed when we asked for things like water for the table. Drinks were forgotten during the meal, or brought after an entire course was finished. We had the whole chicken with fries which wasn’t piping hot and not worth the money. My dirty martini was great and even came with extra martini and extra olives. The manager had a sarcastic attitude when I asked for missing drinks. The steak was delicious but a rip-off. I would never come here again and I’ll be advising friends against it too. Its a bit ‘done’ anyway. There are loads of more up-to-date restaurants in the area with great staff that actually care.

Amazinng! We took our friend there for a surprise birthday meal and the staff were great, service was great. The food was incredible. I love the industrial feel to the restaurant and the art work is a great touch. Atmosphere was fun and lively, it’s a great place to dine and drink with friends.

We stumbled across Tramshed as we wasted time for our Callooh Callay res. It looked really cool and had that big bar which is hard to find in London so we plopped down for a couple glasses of wine and split cock n bull croquettes(tasty, sauce with some kick), chicken drumsticks(good fry job) and shaved cauliflower(kind of boring, too creamy a sauce) all in the £6−7 range. Sorry to have missed the Yoorkshire pudding tho. Lots of cool stuff in the Hoxton Sq. area but glad we found this spot.

My friends and I can be real ay-hole, particularly one of my friends. But at Tramshed, I felt like our inner ay-holy-ness was well received and OK. The place serves beef sticks(a kind of beef jerkey for any Americans who are reading this) and chicken staked with claws hangin’ all up INYOFACE. And lets not forget the giant formaldehyde’ cow smack dab in the center of the joint. Let me break it down for you yo… order below and be happy as taffy… for 8 people, we had: Fun beef sticks Excellent Yorkshire pudding Excellent chicken Superb porterhouse steak and some tasty croquettes! I am so excited that this was a Mark Hix spot… Mr. Hix is my favorite UK chef /restauranteur to-date and I recommend his restaurants to all my friends.

I’m not a big fan of red meat so I got the vegetarian/fish menu, the food is good I got the curry sweet potato and the fish fingers. The atmosphere and decoration here goes on top of everything. One thing that got me a little annoyed is that they try to hard to be cool, the waitress was rude and she kept making b*tch faces to me and my friend when we where paying. This restaurant is more for the experience than the food.

Located in the heart of Shoreditch, this place is huge in comparison to most restaurants in the area. It’s a converted railway arch or depot or something as it has super high ceilings. For starters, we got the Yorkshire pudding and liver. The Yorkshire pudding came out a bit burned unfortunately(see photos). The liver, however, was more like a smooth pâté and it was very tasty, well flavoured. Also got the beet root side which was good. They’re serious about meat. I got the sirloin and my friend got the rib. Both great and cooked well to spec eg medium rare. We topped it off with dessert which was fantastic though expensive at £14.50 — Salted caramel fondue with churros(or what seemed to be?) and marshmallows. The Salted caramel was amazing. Really tasty with the churros. It was too sweet however with the marshmallows. I’d recommend asking to substitute the marshmallows with more churros. A great meal, good location and great for a couple people or groups.

You know what, I’m going to go for it. The full five stars. I unabashedly love Tramshed. I love that it’s all cow and chicken based, so much so that they have a giant mural of the old Cartoon Network show«Cow and Chicken» hanging above their second floor. Who even remembers that show? I love that you can order a full chicken and that it comes on a pole, face down, feet stuck in the air, perfectly cooked. They’ll even start the carving process for you. And then inside the chicken is delicious stuffing which comes with a metal spork to get it out. No, not fork, not spoon, spork. When was the last time you saw a spork that wasn’t plastic and in Burger King? I love that it’s not overpriced for the quality of food. Lunch sandwich(and a delicious one at that) complete with chips at £9? A whole chicken and chips(with four different types of sauces, including Bearnaise) for £25. So good. I love that there’s a giant cow and chicken piece by Damien Hirst, saved forever in formaldehyde, hanging above this restaurant. I love that in Shoreditch, where people are always fighting for space at tiny bars and restaurants without reservations, there is tons of room in Tramshed. So much I don’t think I’ve ever waited for a table(granted I’ve only come for lunch and dinner on weeekdays, but still, I’ve waited for longer for worse during those periods.) I love the service here. Spot on. They are always around without bugging you and if you need anything, just signal, they’re so good at coming right over. Well done guys. I think I just love this place. Five stars!

Les plats sont plutôt bons mais clairement surpricé pour ce que l’on mange. Le service n’est pas ailleurs vraiment pas terrible.
