Fantastic atmosphere on weeknights and not too busy usually! We use this place for society meet ups and they’re really friendly and open to groups! The staff are fantastic and the selection of drinks is definitely worth it, especially if you’re one for foreign beers. They also have really cool private rooms downstairs and upstairs which can be hired and come with their own sound system(downstairs one does I believe). These are great for groups of friends and décor really adds to the great atmosphere.

This pub has such an amazing feel about it. The interior is fabulous and we loved the vinyl collection! As ever with Yummy Pubs, the staff were very polite, very much on hand to help and the wines seemed very reasonable price wise. It was a pleasure to be able to dine at the Chef’s Table and meet the kitchen staff. Head Chef James is a total credit to the pub! Will be ruturning to try their burgers very soon!

Ah The Victoria, I do love you. I love the fun welcoming striped awning outside and the funky yet still pub like feel inside. I know it’s not going to be everyone’s cup of tea, especially if you like a local to feel like a rundown local, but if you’re looking for a clean space with heart, this is it. But what really impresses about the Vic are it’s beautiful upstairs room for dining and meetings, including one with a chef’s table, where you can either sit at the table or right at the counter and watch them make the food. They have a new chef and I tried the menu the other day and holy god, everything on it was delicious. I don’t know what it was like before, but this is the best meal I’ve had in Bow. No question. Don’t miss this spot. I really love it as a place to go.

Great beer, competitive prices, the interior in well planned out and inviting, the front outdoor area allows for a fantastic vantage point for some excellent people watching, the beer garden at the back offers an experience reminiscent of British beach holidays from a bygone era, and the staff are just the nicest bunch ever, try this pub and it WILL become your regular watering hole…100 out of 10

Really, really enjoyed my visit to this pub. Prices were reasonable(for London), and they took credit cards, the refurb seems to have given it a new hipster kind-of vibe. I recommend this place for sitting outside on sunny days, they have an opened up Cocktail Caravan out back to sit in and theres chickens coming soon on the roof!(yes chickens in LONDON!) HOWEVER their smoking area does close pretty early. Their smoking area also has a couple of pods with roofs(any smoker knows this is the place to go in the rain for a fag) We got the sweet potato fries which looked a little pricey but were definitely worth it. The best chips I think I have EVER had they were absolutely gorgeous and I definitely recommend. The barman was a little rude, and got our order wrong the first time, but quickly sorted out the food and brought it over without any fuss. The waitress was SO friendly, and even had a little chat with us about roll-ups. Really nice to have such lovely service from her. Definitely recommend, especially on sunny days!

I do not like the new refurbished style in the slightest. Gone has the good food, gone has the awesome quiz nights and gone has the grungey charm. Now it has baby sick green paint outside, a terrible illustration of queen vic and an insecure area to serve coffees and stale croissants as well as doing everything else at once. It strikes me as trying to bring all the cool and quirky parts of East ldn and putting it in one pub. Frankly I can’t decide what I like and what I hate. The flooring is nice but then you are confronted with a dozen types of wood and wallpaper, the backdoor always swings open, leaving diners freezing and why do they have a caravan outside like barrio East? Also, the beer selection is dire. However it’s a local and it’s functional, it’s good for a quick drink and that’s what pubs are for after all!

Had dinner here a few weeks ago with some friends. Booked a table over the phone, the staff were really helpful! The wine was highly drinkable and not too pricey. The food was good — had a burger and fries, was tasty and of a high standard, however at £12.50ish I thought it too expensive and have had better burgers for around the £10 mark. if the food had been cheaper I’d have given it 4stars. We were there on a Friday night and it wasn’t too rammed, a nice bunch of people in there, not too gentrified at all. There is a cocktail bar too — although we didn’t venture that far, am keen to give it a go! Would def go back.

Since refurbishment(I assume new management), the pub has completely lost it’s charm, and the quality of food & service has dropped considerably. Despite now being a lot cleaner, with a very colourful aesthetic, the main room of the pub has been left empty and rather sterile. After asking the staff a few questions about the refurb and the new menu, but not being told a huge amount of information, we found the food to be well below average, overpriced, and it took almost an hour to arrive. One dish in particular that I would steer clear of is the ‘Calamari with pork scratchings’- a bizarre combo that just does not work and was ordered without seeing the part about ‘crumbled pork scratchings’ on what ended up being undercooked, soggy calamari. Compared to pubs including The Tredegar, The Crown, The Royal Inn on the Park and others around the area. This one star review is generous. A huge shame as the ‘old’ Victoria was warm, welcoming and good fun– even if a little dark and rough around the edges!

Recently taken over. For no apparent reason previous owners lost their tenancy. Sad. Refurbished and modernised. Very weird interior with a strange cage café. Food is average and overpriced. Portion sizes are suspect. For example sausage and mash, a pub staple, offered two meagre sausages accompanied by a spoonful of mash and about 10 peas. For a tenner! We use the local butchers on Roman Road so are used to decent sausages around here! Fairly average wines and beers. Usual sky high London prices. Lunch sandwiches are decent. overall the menu is overhyped but under delivers with average cooking and its way too expensive.

Burgers are tasty, could use a few more ales on tap, but a quality boozer all week round…

Now this is a cracking piece of quirky East End life… This is not your average pub– there are vintage jumble sales at the weekend and during the day one corner of the pub transforms into a hair salon. Weird and wonderful clutter adorns the walls,(notice the stuffed squirrels behind the bar) and there’s a little stage which often showcases up and coming dj’s and bands. Drinks can be a little on the pricey side, but its worth it just for the atmosphere when live music is blaring! The Vic is a great place to stumble upon and serves hearty american style food, and something I’ve been excited about in the daytime is the range of board games they have on offer– yes we were playing scrabble whilst drinking pints! However if you’re looking for a good ol’ traditional pub to take your parents, grannies or gramps, this may not be the spot. The Vic prides itself on being young, fresh and hip, which it does to a t.

This little pub is a treat for many reasons. They house a variety of real ales and beer. The music and the interiors(stuffed animal heads on the bar ceiling!) give it a very rundown, rustic appeal in my opinion. The Victoria hosts a number of live events throughout the week including quiz night and open mic nights on alternating Wednesdays and live music and DJs every friday and saturday. Quiz night is usually just a quid to enter and it’s really quite a lot of fun because the host gets into it and that’s always entertaining. They also show live football matches from time to time for the sports fanatic in you and every other sunday they screen a film, which is quite nice. The downside to this place would definitely be the price. It is not too expensive but with wetherspoons just a few minutes away, 3.50 for the cheapest beer gives you something to think about. The food menu is quite good but the kitchen closes very early, at about 8.30pm or 9pm, depending on which day of the week it is. Overall, The Victoria has a nice atmosphere and should definitely be on your list for that pub crawl you want to do!

Leopard skinned chairs and checkered tablecloths, Check! Every classic american rock n roll song I know streaming, Check! Various stuffed animals hanging or mantled on things, Check! Super friendly family running the place, Checkity Check! Cutest terrier in the world running rampant, Oh Gawd Check! Tasty food like american bacon, and various chili covered things. Check and Yum Ya’ll! I came here on a Sunday for their breakfast and blues. It happens every Sunday but on the first one of the month from 1−6pm there is a jumble sale, then there’s live music and then a free screening of a movie at 8. The website has the line up of things that happen during the month. Great, laid back place. Definitely going to participate in the jumbles to come. Go support these guys. They’re amazingly friendly and cooool.

I must be a miserable po-face because I think I’m the only person that just isn’t that bothered about this pub. It has lots of things going for it– a number of OK regular nights, jumble sales, extra cheap food and other efforts to pull more punters in but there’s just a lot more competition down the road in Bethnal Green and of course Hoxton. There’s usually a group of unfriendly trendies moping about outside smoking rollies. The kind of crowd that looks like they got lost trying to find The Old Blue Last and ended up at The Victoria instead.

The Victoria is fast becoming one of the trendiest pub/venues around. It has taken on promoters who specialise in some of the coolest bands around, thereby ensuring that the pub develops a great image. Many of the new«darkrock» bands have started playing there, such as An Experiment On A Bird In The Airpump.
