Best Thai food I’ve had in a long time. Priced exceptionally fairly and good service. This is one of the best places to eat in south London as the food tastes amazing. It left me feeling happy, which it something I’ve not experienced at many restaurants in London this year as they have either been over priced or lacking in notable quality. Thai Grocer is however spot on with its food and prices.

I’d passed Thai Grocer at all times of the day & night and it always seemed busy. Always a good sign! So finally last night I got chance to try it! The restaurant itself is small — 6 tables neatly placed amongst all the thai food supplies they sell — noodles, rice, paste and fresh goods. When we sat down the owner kindly informed us they were ‘bring your own’ and told us about the off license a couple of doors down. He brought a bottle opener and some glasses for the beers we inevitably purchased! To start we shared 2 of the ‘dim sum’ — curry parcels and salt and pepper squid. Both were delicious and large portions! For my main I had the pad thai which came with peanuts, sauce and chilli flakes to sprinkle as I wished. It was really good and packed with king prawns! It wasn’t as delicious as my boyfriends choice though(food envy!!) he ordered beef massaman curry which came with rice. It was so unbelievably tasty! Our meal came to £30(+£5 for 4 coronas from the off-y!). Fantastic value for a delicious meal with wonderful service. They also do take away!

Sweetly decorated local restaurant and great place to get Thai ingredients. Run by a really friendly family, and I mean all the family! Plus their curry paste is imported from their family’s business in Thailand. Fantastic food — quality, flavour, and good value too(around £8/9 for a main and they deliver for free for orders over £15).
