I came here to see some friends performing one Friday eve. This place is an Oasis, an expensive one but it’s wonderful. Set on various levels and full of trees and other exotic décor. It’s at least 14 great British pounds for a JD and coke so it might be best to predrink if you’re on a budget. But dress to impress and dance the night away!

I was for the first time on the Roof Gardens, I even didn’t know that they exist. Unfortunately the day when I visited this lovely place was frizzing cold. Having linch outside was nightmare but service was doing what they could to keep us warm, they gave us blankets and hot water bottles. Food was fine, the best were deserts. Gardens are really pretty it must be a dream place for a wedding venue. Spanish garden really looks like from Spain. Just regret that thee are any views on city.

Went there for an event and it was absolutely gorgeous. It’s really close to High Street Kensington and there are real flamingoes. Not sure how it looks during the night but during daytime, it looks like such a haven. I would love to just stay there and read a book. Seems like a good getaway of calm in the heart of London.

This is smaller than the US clubs I’m used to, but I liked it a lot. There are the gardens you could go to when you needed a break from dancing. The cocktails were probably the fanciest club cocktails I’ve ever gotten anywhere and pretty well mixed. I liked that the patrons ranged in age from 21 to possibly early 50s. I’m in my early 30s and I was so worried I’d be the oldest person. There are promoters to get in free before 11. I suggest finding one

Haven’t been here for years and thought we could only visit if having lunch at Babylon restaurant on the 7th floor. In fact on the day of our lunch the gardens were open for free and there was no pressure to buy anything from the bar — just take the lift to the 6th floor and wander through. There are lots of lovely places to sit, even deckchairs and a giant chessboard and of course the flamingos. Highly recommended as a unique place to spend time in London. Best to phone ahead to check if the gardens are open.

The Roof Gardens is one of those spaces that always impress, even if you don’t always remember it’s there. It’s not the easiest spot to get to, tucked away in Kensington, and then up a bunch of floors so you’re never going to just walk by it and go, «Oh, let’s go there.» But do go there. The view is amazing, the food is delicious and they make some of the best cocktails in the city, routinely. I’m not sure I’ve had a better Old Fashioned than here. They also have flamingos walking around, so you’ve got to love that. I spent my New Year’s Eve here this year(and also the same night I turned 30) and they throw a hell of a party. The garden is beautiful, the drinks are strong, and they went all out with decorations and music. I loved every minute of it. It’s always going to expensive, but you do get what you pay for, and what you get here is great.

Owned by Richard Branson, the Roof Gardens is three gardens, the Babylon restaurant and a private member’s club. The Gardens are spectacular with their very own flamingos, and are open to the public when it is not being used for corporate events, and you can visit it for free. If you dine in the Babylon restaurant you can go to the member’s club for a night of dancing without being a member, but for a fee. Love the Babylon restaurant though with its good quality very British food. Really nice views over London and a bird’s eye view of the English Woodland Garden. The restaurant is laid out like an airplane as befits the airline owner. There is the main restaurant(Economy), the semi-private room(Business Class), they even have a curtain to cordon off the main restaurant, and finally, the private room behind closed doors(First Class)! Good place for star spotting too. When I was there once, the private room was booked for Richard Branson’s daughter’s birthday party. If you just want to go for a drink, pop on to the terrace for a cocktail.

Eher hochpreisig

The venue is great, especailly in summer, hanging out in the gardens and then inside the club. The setup of the club is odd, and so it is only 3 stars

Beautiful venue that hosts many elegant and fun events. Would come again(curious to see during the day). The British do their gardens well!

Absolutely love this venue. Unique space. Lots if little nooks and crannies. Flamingos. Yes Flamingos on the gardens. An oasis in the heart of London.

This must be a «High End» establishment since it has the trademark attitude of surly staff that ignore everyone. To compound matters, the eponymous Gardens were arbitrarily closed off, despite being a lovely Summer Evening. I’d rather go to a friendly pub with a beer garden!

I went here for the Reverb festival where Delilah headlined. It’s a really lovely venue and the whole day was enjoyable, the only negative comment I can make is that we had to wait a long time whenever we went to the bar. It was a sold out event so they seemed a little understaffed on that front. The outside terrace was beautiful in the sunshine while the acts played relaxed acoustic music. It got very busy as the day went on so the relaxed feeling somewhat dwindled but nevertheless it was still a nice vibe. Inside was the main stage. This is where the most entertaining acts were which was a little annoying as that meant we stayed inside when it was such lovely weather. Made sense to have the bands in the bigger area, though. The BBQ food was SO good. We had gourmet burgers and my gosh were they tasty. Top notch! Finally there was the comedy stage. We saw Katherine Ryan, who is one of my favourite comedians, so was a great show. It was a small event but at the same time we felt like we couldn’t fit everything in as there were so many good acts going on! Overall it was a lovely day and despite the expectedly high prices I would definitely like to return to this place to see it on one of its usual nights as a club. Watch this space!

I really wanted to see flamingos, but no luck twice :(The place is gorgeous and I’m definitely coming back there, but the queue outside was horrendous. I feel like I was standing there for at least 45 minutes.

It’s really rare that I write a bad review(you can check!) but there are occasions on which being treated with contempt really warrant it. I almost don’t even want to revisit this night but let’s just say if you gather the worst and most jobsworth, officious bouncers in history and then don’t give them training on decency or basic privacy regulations, let alone human rights issues, you have The Roof Gardens. Their door staff and their ID policy verbally contradict the tiny sign they’re legally obliged to have at their front door. You DON’T have to have your ID scanned into their machine and they can’t refuse you entry because you want to understand why they say one thing and legally publish another. But they do. In a word, disgusted.

Apparently this is normally a members’ only club, but they have regular events that welcome non-members too. My housemate and I popped along for the London Cocktail Club masquerade ball this past weekend(thanks to a great deal on Groupon!), and it was good fun. The venue itself definitely has a wow factor, the décor is stylish and of course the gardens are gorgeous! When we first walked in the room seemed small, but later in the night a dividing wall was taken down and it’s actually a great size, with VIP table areas, a dancefloor, DJ booth, bars and a little stage area they had erected for the event. We did think that it is a shame that it doesn’t really feel like a roof garden as there are walls all around so you can’t see the view. Drinks are pricey, but not stupidly so for the type of establishment — cocktails were £12/£12.50. Annoyingly they didn’t have the ingredients to make half the cocktails in the(already quite limited) menu, but the cocktails we did have were well made(and STRONG!!). Towards the end of the night we thought we’d have a shot(for an alcohol injection at a fraction of the price of the cocktails), but surprisingly and somewhat unfortunately we went for Patron, and it cost almost the same as a cocktail(£11.25)! Not a pleasant surprise but there you go! The entertainment was fun, a girl on stilts, burlesque performance, two guys who played with fire and an AWESOME drummer who drummed along to the dance music. I would definitely visit again, maybe right after pay day!

I came here in October 2014 for a Hen do. I went for the bbq package where you got entry into the club after. On arrival there was cocktails which was a nice touch and you could walk around exploring the gardens which were beautiful. There was so many different BBQ foods to choose from there was also veggie options. The deserts where lovely and there was many to choose from and being able to have a bit of everything was brilliant. A band came around and sang to each table and defiantly got you in the party mood. Overall I really enjoyed the experience of being able to view the gardens then have food outside too. The club after was also really good with a mixed over people and ages !

Love love love this place! You are in the middle of London and feel like your in a secret court yard in Spain. Beautiful fountains, walkways and hedges. Just walking around with a drink is an experience. Great place to get dressed up and go out with the girls. Prettiest place I have been to for London Bars!

I went there for a LoveBrunch event at roof gardens and did not enjoy it much. Not only there was some very mean attitude downstairs(our friend was late, and after we went through and asked if she can jump the queue when she arrives — we were told that ‘everyone must stand in the queue.’ Really? I just saw you letting in a bunch of people in who obviously jumped your queue!) Sorry. Ranting. Anyway, upstairs there were overpriced bubbly(£15 for a glass — really?) and an overall I felt like I got into a Made-in-Chelsea shooting set — lots of douchie looking guys and girls in their early 20s. But you know, maybe I’m wrong, and maybe they were all wonderful people, but clearly they were not very sociable so I could see it for myself. The only positive side is how great it is to be on a roof terrace in a lovely Kensington neighbourhood on a sunny day — it was 25 degrees and sunny. Pretty little church-like building on the terrace and garden above the city — perfect. 2 stars for the atmosphere, 5 stars for the venue itself.

I was at The Roof Gardens last night for an event and fell in love with the place! Whilst inside is like any upmarket club, the gardens are absolutely breathtaking and stunning. You would not believe you’re on a rooftop in central London — it’s so beautiful, quiet and you really do feel a million miles away from the bustle of the streets below. There are even 2 pink flamingos! Pricey drinks(£9 for G&T, £25 cheapest bottle of wine) but the gardens really are stunning by day or night.
