The Nave is a wonderful performance space inside an old church. I went for a musical event and enjoyed the venue immensely. I arrived early and was able to walk around the old church and take in the architecture and beauty of the old church. The concert was very good, the cellist was splendid and I left thinking that I would like to return for other events. Since my last visit to the Nave I have learned that festivals and other musical events regularly take place. What a wonderful venue and I highly recommend taking advantage of the events hosted here.

I went to the Nave last year to see someone from school perform with his band. It is an old Church between Angel Islington and Stoke Newington and currently hosts music events as well as part of a Steiner school. The building itself is very handsome. The performances take place in the nave(main hall) of the church. For the most part the walls are plain white but the rafters are exposed and there is some beautiful decoration on the back wall of the stage . My friend was playing as part of a folk night which, whilst suiting the venue, meant that the crowd was quite ‘precious’ and a little too reverent of the music, killing any sense of atmosphere. The venue mainly hosts classical events and I can imagine that works a lot better. An interesting venue that is worth a trip.
