OMFG ! I wandered past this place while trekking through the city and what I find possibly one of my favourite burger places EVER ! The burger choices are simple but mind blowing I chose the steak burger my first round and loaded it up with eggs, bacon and double cheese. To start with usually when you add double cheese and bacon to a burger it’s a good choice but doesn’t ever fulfil expectations however this time it certainly did cheese covered every inch of the bacon and egg and the true mountains of cheese on the burger, it was fair to i was flabagasted. Once I got over the initial shock, I then delved in to the Marriott of sauces over time I’ve learnt the wonderful combos that work best but this time I went all out mustard, ketchup, sweet jack D and chilli ginger/garlic. To top it of I sorrunded it in what can only be described as a brown bread floatation device, I now upgrade to the cheese and onion roll. The icing on the cake is the service always friendly chatty and on a sunday accompanied by great music(sometimes but you can make requests) one complaint no fries or onion rings but go with out and you won’t regret it :0)

These burgers are massive. And pretty cheap considering just how massive. The guy who runs the stall is cool and if you get cheese on your burger he cuts the burger in half and then cooks the cheese inside… I had the chilli burger, I couldn’t finish it. and thats saying something!!!

NOTE: The Naked Sausage seems to have moved from Chapel Market to a larger spot right across the street from the Byron on Upper Street! Now, there are far too many £20 burgers in London. While some of them are even worth the price, none of them can match the price-to-foodgasm intensity ratio of a Naked Sausage burger, yours for less than £5. For my first visit, on someone else’s advice, I ordered a chili burger with cheese, bacon, and BBQ sauce. My mouth began to water as I watched the chili-infused ground beef patty sizzling next to the bacon on the griddle. I was a little puzzled when halfway through grilling, the cook cut the patty in half, but I was happy to discover that this gave him an opportunity to grate the cheese into the middle, so that it would be properly melted. With the whole mess stacked up and handed to me in a roll of greasy paper, I took a bite and entered burger bliss. This place is a small market stall(though with the move to Upper St., they seem to have added a small outdoor seating area). The cooks inside perform a chaotic dance of asking for orders, making change, shifting things around on the griddle, answering questions about their offerings, and wrapping things up. You don’t need to know what you’re going to order ahead of time, but you should be able to make up your mind quickly, as the cooks will be grilling you about your preferences while they grill your order.

When my steakophile friend suggests we get delightful burgers from a market stall at Chapel Market for lunch, the only sane response would be, ‘Of course!’ As such, after a brief round of produce shopping one fine sun-drenched Sunday London morning, we found ourselves lured to The Naked Sausage… following to wafting scents of sizzling meat and the barker’s cries of ‘Make your own gourmet burger! The only stall in London where –you– decide!’ I can’t verify the veracity of this fellow’s statements, but I –can– report that you make decisions about your meat. Lots of them: — What kind of meat? — What kind of roll? — Cheese or not? — Bacon or not? — What sauces? And here, another massive decision tree branches off… — Jack Daniel’s BBQ — Ketchup — Mayonnaise — Various chilli sauces — Mustard… American or otherwise You get the picture that indecisive people should steer away, yes? I watched in brief dismay as my pre-cooked burger patty was them sliced in half and thrown –back– on the grill… ‘But it’s already well-done!’ I thought to myself. Oh no. That’s where the cheese comes in: in between the burger halves. Genius or blasphemy? The former, I do believe. Grab a chilled beer from the offie half-way down the street(on the southern side). And if you’re as fortunate as I was to have my friend’s terrace to sit on, soak in some sun, and watch the activity on Chapel Market… well, that’s just dandy.

Ohhhh myyyyy god, I want to love this burger down and there are just so many ways to love it. After a boozy night, I had a craving for something spicy and fatty. Enter the chilli burger with bacon and cheese. My friends have told me about this place and I decided to check it out. Walking through Chapel Market I finally see it just off the left hand side. I asked the man there, «One half pound chilli burger with cheese and bacon please». He took a burger patty that was laced with little chillies and placed it on the grill. «mmm this is gonna be good», I thought to myself. The man then proceeded to cut the patty in half. «OMG what is he doing he is letting the juice get out, what is going on?» I frantically wound myself up… «Hmm he is a professional so he should know what he is doing», calming myself with that thought. There it was my half pound patty split up in to two quarter pound patties. What happened next, I was not ready for… he put the bacon and cheese on one patty and the other patty was placed on top! A sandwich of beef, cheese and bacon. I shouldn’t have doubted him even for one second. Before placing this mega patty into the bun he put more cheese on top of the burger. I took the first bite of it and it was bliss. There wasn’t any tomatoes or salad on the burger but for 4 quid in London what do you expect? There were heaps of condiments available to garnish your burger like extra hot sauce if you fancied. I stood there eating my burger, admiring it as I took bite after bite unfazed by rain drops that fell from the sky because I was truly happy thinking, «For price, quantity and taste, this could easily be the best burger in London.»

OHMYLORD! The sensational taste of my chilli burger almost made me collapse it was that good. I was walking through Chapel Market and this unassuming stall with a man and presumably his young daughter were grilling burgers and sausages. I wanted one. Looking at the huge list of different flavour burgers and sausages, I went for the aforementioned chilli burger. I wanted the works with cheese, onion and a tasty BBQ sauce. I don’t think I have the words to justify how tasty is was. I would forgo my six pack(er hmm) and feast on these beautiful bad boys everyday, for the rest of my life. I’ve heard on the grapevine the sausages are special too. If you live near Angel and still frequent McDonalds, shame on you with this phenomenal burger cart just down the street.
