Great pub at the end of Crouch End. All the more better for the dog-friendliness too. Welcoming staff all the more welcoming when they own pooches of their own and able to ‘talk dog’. Good selection of ales and lagers, pleasant atmosphere inside and out. You may not be able to take your eyes off the roaring fire playing on the telly though!

Went to the Maynard Arms for a quiz night. It was a lot of fun and something you should do if you live nearby. There was a nice mix of ages, the beers on tap were good and the food decent. Location-wise, it’s easy to get to from the Northern line or a few buses. People are very friendly, there’s a lot of good seating and they have some areas where you can play darts or pool. I’m looking forward to trying the outdoor area in the summer, and making my way through the various foods on offer!

Love this place! They make great use of their space. The food is fresh and the place is clean. Love their outdoor area! Also, the bartenders are very friendly and fast.

Pleasant enough pub just off the main Crouch End broadway. They have a screen for sports and a slightly raised area over to the left that, while it is essentially rather pointless, looks right somehow. Seems like a nice place to sit by the window and kill time. Enjoyed an excellent pint of one of my favourite drinks, the St Edmonds Gold and also managed to slip in a taste of a guest ale they had on too. I’d like to come back here!

I consider this the liveliest pub in Crouch End. The music is much louder than any of the other pubs around which gives it more of a party feel. It attracts both groups and locals so quite a mixed atmosphere. I like to sit at the front overlooking the road on one of the several leather sofas. They have two of the more common ales on tap — Old Speckled Hen and Abbot Ale. At 1.50 for half pint the price is typical. They also are one of the only pubs around to serve Leffe on tap so that gives me a nice choice. The place is large and goes right back leading into a covered sort of courtyard. The food is served on and off throughout the day ie Monday to Thursday evening from 6.00 to 9.00pm so if you are going to eat check out the times or you will be disappointed. I will come back here to check out the live music and bring my friend to the open mic 8.00 — 9.00pm on a Wednesday night. Monday night is quiz night(not my thing but worth mentioning).

if they had better beers on tap it would be perfect. Best place to watch sport in Crouch End. Decent-sized cosy outside garden bit too for smokers.

A very relaxed place just off all the main often overcrowded bars and restaurants of Crouch End. Helpful, pleasant staff and a good selection of wine & beers. The food here is always well cooked with a choice of light bites sharers and mains, eaten here a few times now and never been dissappointed. A great place to relax and unwind with friends or family.

It is always a nice surprise to find a quiet, friendly, safe-feeling pub in London, and I have only recently discovered this one so am singing its praises. The Maynard Arms is large, and has a good outside area with big tables and — yes! — heaters! Non-environmentally friendly, but who cares when you need chain-fags with your pints? The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. It’s not the sort of place where you get stumblingly, roaringly drunk and lurch about the place. Far too nice, with luxury toilets and general charm. They have live music sometimes too.
