Best oyster with shallot dressing I ever had. Awesome friendly service and big windows with light coming in.

We had just spent the whole day in the city traipsing around in a scavenger hunt. We were hungry and thirsty and The Larrik delivered. Our group, visiting for a wedding, was a big group. We had grandmas and babies, even the wedding couple(who were getting married the next day!). Over 20 people. We managed to split up into a few tables and the servers brought out extra chairs without batting an eyelash. Tasty cocktails were on special, and a selection of craft beers were on tap. The food came out quick and hot. The menu was diverse, not the usual pub grub. The servers and bartenders were always friendly and accommodating. The orders came out without any hiccups and settled without any mistakes which is not often for big parties. All in all, many pints of beer, multiple bottles of wine, plates and plates of food had been consumed and we were a happy bunch.

Stopped in to satisfy the Sunday evening dinner requirements. This place wasn’t busy but still had a good ambiance. The staff were friendly and helpful too. We enjoyed nachos, fish and chips and a nicely cooked bavette steak. This was accompanied by a reasonably priced bottle of French Pinot Noir. A great little find on Crawford Place and I think we’ll be back to try it again.

Everything about the Larrik is perfect! The staff are so nice, helpful and attentive and the food is always great. Sunday roast is one of my favorite parts of the week, and the Larriks is fantastic. I can even get away with not having a reservation. The interior space is great, and I have found they have gone above and beyond to accommodate large parties. Their standard weekly menu is great(I love the chicken skewers) and they have the best chips ever! The pub is decorated beautifully and they draw a great crowd!

Great pub tucked away from the busy London streets. I was very surprised to get a seat on a Friday night! Good selection of drinks on offer and the food looked good too. Seems small from the outside but actually quite spacious inside. The staff are super friendly too and always make sure you get served quickly.

We visited today and it was a nice environment; chilled, not busy and welcoming. The drinks were a bit pricey and a couple of the sharing dishes did not represent good value for money but I’d recommend the nachos. The staff were also very friendly. Worth a visit.

Very welcoming service for our family of five. Had a neat nacho appetizer with pita chips, guac, cheese, pico de gallo and sour cream. Nice little beer selection and solid wine options. We had haddock and chips, cod, Mac and cheese and the shepherd’s pie. Atmosphere was fun and the room opened up with high ceilings and plenty of space.

The weather outside was frightful and our tummies were rumbling. We were in search of a different pub on New Year’s Day. We happened upon The Larrik and decided to go no further. So glad we did. As Jonathan E. said, from the outside, it looks like any other old London pub. On the inside, the place is roomy, more modern and even has a large, comfy couch, matching leather chair which we made a beeline for. They have large candles on all the tables and all the way around the perimeter of the restaurant next to the windows giving the place a warm glow. They’ve also hung large linen dampers not the ceiling the dampen the noise. Thankfully the place was quiet when we got there, but it didn’t last long. Within a half hour The Larrik was packed. The food is pretty good. We had the Scotch Egg which I can’t really begin to describe. I believe they use a duck egg in the dish. It’s soft boiled, pickled egg that is rolled in all kinds of different things like bacon, flour and fried. Cheese and crackers which included and amazing Stilton and chutney. We also had the Artichoke Heart and Lima Bean Salad… which was my favorite. The service was immensely friendly. We chilled on the couch, drank many pints and really enjoyed the warm, dry and lovely glow of the Larrik on New Year’s Day.

Have to go with just Meh on this one, sadly. I brought my Mom here on her first night in London. As a few reviewers mentioned, the fries were not bad, but my stilton burger was dry and overcooked. The real problem was with the fish and chips, which seemed to have no seasoning of any kind(not even salt) on the fish or in the batter — the fish tasted like wet cardboard.(I know, if you want fish and chips, there are places to go in the neighborhood). I was at least hoping to have a couple of good pints, but it seemed(unless I couldn’t see them) that they had nothing at all interesting on draught. Ended up having to go with a generic mass-market pilsner(1664 or something). Overall just not the experience I was hoping for, despite the nice atmosphere.

Unexpectedly refined gastropub food just east of edgware rd. Amazing risotto mushroom dish with rocket and Parmesan! Friendly service and great blues/rock music on the speakers tonight.

A nice place to hang out, nicely decorated with quality old fashioned, but chic English décor. Frequented mainly by the very smart young and middle aged, but fine for older people as well. Service is from well spoken and smart staff. Very nice food, the kind that is so good they do not have to mess around making mutton look like lamb. Good ingredients in straight forward dishes that over priced for the quality they serve, hence the good quality client basevthat they attract. Good food, very clean and not over priced

Go for the fries. They are perfect. The pub is great during the day(big windows, lots of natural light) but LOUD in the evening. Not great if you’re trying catch up with a friend over dinner!

From the outside, it looks like any other pub in London. Once you enter, however, it’s amazingly spacious. Big open rooms and tall ceilings punctuated by big picnic tables. It’s got a farmhouse feel but is modern shabby chic. Drinks are nice. Staff are nice. I’d be happy to return.

This is the only pub who has got a massive tv to watch football(any kind of sports) around there, The food was ok. It wasn’t expensive. The chips was actually quiet nice. But nothing spectacular.

There’s nothing bad about the Larrik and it is better than many others in the area, but it’s nothing to write home about. The food is standard gastropub fare. There’s nothing exceptional and it’s just about worth the money but I couldn’t be pressed in to saying it is good value. The beer selection is small and uninspired with one or two real-ale offerings. It’s not really the sort of place where I’d like to go for an ale anyway. The restaurant-style layout makes choosing the Larrik for a casual pint unlikely, though a couple of worn leather sofas do provide a relaxed option. It’s always packed after work and people like to spill out on to the street. The staff are affable and efficient. Essentially, this is a very well run pub. It just falls short of being really special.

I hosted an event here for an afternoon and it couldn’t have gone better. The group of 30 business school graduates we hosted had a great time, which was a credit to everyone involved. The staff was great, the service was prompt, the drinks were cold and the food was tasty. The neighbourhood is quiet, which makes this spot perfect for a relaxing pint. I love the open windows that look out onto the street and let in plenty of natural light. And that’s all I have to say about that.

I danced Scottish reels here last night — very pleasant low-key post-modern décor, nice staff, and the coqu au vin I ate was excellent(if a bit salty). The music was on the loud side of pleasant, on the rare occasions when the ceilidh music was switched off, but it was still possible to talk to one or two other people at a time without shouting — group conversations would probably be difficult. Otherwise, I’d give it a 5-star review for the ambience.

To be fair to this place I only popped in here for one pint. I might have stayed longer but they ask you to come inside after 9pm because they’re not allowed to have people drinking outside after bedtime, which kinda sucks. It struck me as a pretty decent little pub tucked away of the beaten track; good atmosphere, the food smelt good and they have a plasma TV showing football. I’d return for an afternoon pint.

I went here yesterday, we had a group of 12 people just for lunch, and booked ahead, so they knew to expect a large quantity of people. We ordered drinks and food, and waited. And waited. 20 minutes later we got our drinks, however they forgot one beer, so we had to wait again for that. An hour after we ordered the food, we finally got it — they must’ve only had one chef on or something! Still, the food was nice. I ordered Eggs Royale, which was eggs benedict but with smoked salmon. Most other people ordered burgers, which looked good. My eggs were lovely, very runny, however someone else who ordered the same had very hard eggs, the food didn’t seem very consistent. The worst thing was that they brought the food out drip by drip, not at the same time. A caeser salad was second last to arrive, and most other people had finished by then — you’d think a salad would come first! My Eggs Royale came very last, so I was eating about 10minutes after everyone else finished. The service was very poor, with only one waiter serving the whole pub, and whilst the eggs were lovely, I wouldn’t recommend this place, as he was very unfriendly, didn’t apologise over the numerous mistakes and slowness, and it was very expensive for what it was. UPDATE: Perhaps I was too hasty with my initial review, as i’ve since been back half a dozen times, and always ordered the eggs royale — they certainly improved after the first visit, but the service could admittedly improve. Amended from two stars to three stars.
