Superb Indian and Nepalese food. We have been this place few times via open table and we got 50% discount on food bill really worth visit to the India gate.
Excellent service and delicious meal. We try tandoori scallops and momo very tasty and out standing presentation n we try chicken hydradadi and dal makhani because I am from India so perfect spicy with jeera rice and butter nan so nice if you like authentic Indian and Nepalese meal you must visit the India gate in forest hill completely different from other Indian restaurant. Worth of visit the India gate even with out discount. Keep it up team of the India gate.

The India Gate offers a mixture of traditional Indian curries and Nepalese cuisine. I opted for the latter to start and wolfed down lamb momos, which were absolutely delicious.
Mains were fine; my chicken sag would have delighted Popeye, comprising about five bags of spinach. The lamb dish was tender if a little less spicy than expected.
Would I go out of my way to visit The India Gate? No. Still, if you’re in the area it’s a perfectly decent offering. And with a 241 deal on Taste Card, it’s great value.

The India Gate is my pick from the Indian restaurants in Hackney. Although I usually get take away because it is so close to my house, I have dined here a couple of times.
What I really like about it is the fact that it isn’t just taken from the display and thrown into a box. Although it takes a few more minutes, it is nice that they prepare it to order in the kitchen.
The dining in experience only has one flaw as far as I’m concerned, its seriously heavy lighting. The excessive brightness really detracts from the ambience.
My favourite dish is the lamb dalfrazi, closely followed by the lamb korma. I find it a little expensive though as two take away curries and one portion of rice comes to around 12 pounds.
