The place is charming, the interior is wooden, there are great couches to sit on and small dizzling lights all over. It is a really nice place to hang out to place at a great price: they serve a variety of beers and wood-baked pizzas that are really fine(and cheap I think the pizza with parma ham and roquette is something like £8,90 and worth it). So if you just want to spend a nice evening with friends, you must try it :)

Closest pub to my flat, so literally down the road and I’m surprised I hadn’t been there until yesterday. Great offering of beers, including gluten free and alcohol free options. A pint will be around £5 here, so a tad more than ideal. Pizzas look great here, and seem a big part of the draw. Ample outdoor seating if you’re happy popping a squat in the little lot next to it.

My trusty local pub that never lets me down!(Apart from when it’s silly busy on a Saturday or Sunday evening and we can’t find a seat!). Great selection of pale ales but the real attractive feature of this place is the pizza — I can honestly say it’s my favourite in London, Sicilian Hot every time! Stonebaked and thin based, with a drizzle of that magic chilli/Rosemary oil they have in bottles — yum. Pizzas are £6 on a Sunday and Monday evening which is a hangover dream!

Really like this trendy little hipster pub perched on the corner of Mile End and Bethnal Green. Staff and customers really friendly, fine prices and a great playlist going! Décor’s very trendy and hipster, as is the Bowie music, but a really nice place for a chilled night out, I’m converted!

I rather like this pub. Has a very warm feel to it. Sharp’s Doombar was in good nick too. The pizzas smelt good and the service was friendly, if perhaps a little on the slow side. Nice location near a couple of main roads, but off the beaten track. Doesn’t sell flowers.

Decent enough pub rightly overshadowed by some of its neighbourhood mates.

While service can be a bit slow on a Saturday night, they have a decent selection of beers on tap(including London Pale Ale!) and the pizzas looks awesome, but we couldn’t sit down so couldn’t order.

A return visit for the first time in about 5 years. The fabric of this place doesn’t appear to change. The clientele has always been a balance of local types and the odd Shoreditch Twat, but they are probably now represented in greater numbers. However, the mix creates a pleasant enough vibe. It was fairly busy for early on a Friday night.

Sitting on the border of Hipsterville and proper East London, The Florist gets a good mix of trendy and local punters. Case in point: During my most recent visit I shared the bar with Lily Allen and a bunch of drunk cockney blokes boisterously singing along to The Who. This seems to be a fairly representative evening. The beer selection’s OK. The service is warm but ludicrously inefficient. Food is available in the form of delicious thin-crust pizza. Hovering around the £6−7 mark for a well-topped 9 incher, it’s pretty good value.

Excellent pub just off Roman Road away from the main stretch of Bethnal Green and slightier grubbier boozers. Recently refurbished the inside is super comfortable with plenty of big sofas, perfect for wasting a couple of hours supping pint and catching up with friends. Over the weekend though it can get insanely busy and tend to spill out onto the street. It’s definitely the kind of trendy East End boozer where people warm-up for a night out in Shoreditch. So expect floppy haircuts and plaid shirts aplenty!

Came especially for the Cabaret quiz on Monday but there was nothing cabaret about it! However, the deco was pretty cool, very red and boudoir. give the quiz a miss if you are expecting something more than a regular pub quiz, and if you do go the quiz is pretty hard!

This pub has an eclectic mix of styles and people. It attracts quite a trendy crowd, but its not like everyone thinks they are to cool to be there. I went on a friday night and it was packed. I usually don’t mind it when a place is busy, as long as the vibe is right. The problem with this place is that the big lounges get in the way. The D.J. was playing good tunes, and if it wasn’t for the lounges, maybe more people would have been up dancing. It took quite a while to get a drink, which I would of minded if the pub has something really special about it. Overall, my experience was pretty average.

I came here after the fireworks display in Victoria Park this year with a massive gang of friends. It was really fun but completely packed, involving a fight to the bar. The staff were friendly but not really worried about facing a 7 person deep crowd waiting for drinks. It was a pretty cool and young clientele who were there, mostly local, with a few proper old locals to liven up the mix a bit. It was so busy that we and a lot of other people decided to stand outside much to the annoyance of everyone trying to drive their cars into the adjacent estate. There was almost a fight which was a bit of a shame as it seemed too friendly a place for that sort of thing. Still on most other nights it’s a cosy, friendly, relaxed place.

Quality pub — best vibe, a classic east end ‘trendy’ place. They do proper beer and good Guinness, but don’t rip you off for it. Staff genuinely friendly and willing to strike up conversation. Is dark, laid back and always full of laughter. Well recommended

Great Pub hidden away off Roman Road in Bethnal Green. Quizzes on a monday, great selection of drinks available. Very friendly and welcoming. Has an intimate buzz to the atmosphere and does a selection of food and snacks. Great for catching up with friends in!

This legendary pub is located deep in the East London and the customers are a mix of true Eastenders and some creatives with skinny jeans. The place is very scruffy, nothing fancy or polished. The interior is about comfortable sofas and red wall paper. They have often live music but they have no myspace to check the lineup. They have a good selection of drinks but be prepared that it might take a small forever to get your drink served. The staff is friendly and very cool, but soooo slow. Also the toilets would need to be refurbished, please! Oh well, I have to give the place credit for being very authentic and chick!

This is a pub where it’s nice to meet your friends for drinks. Long tables, sofas, chairs, benchs make you feel comfortable. The place looks differently every day with always a singular mix and atmosphere as it’s never the same DJ. It’s situated near restaurants and a church so there are always the locals who share their pub with young, fashion, musicians people as it’s not far from Brick Lane. Have fun there is really easy.
