We went for a dinner with work colleagues. The atmosphere is beautiful and lively and there is good people watching. The wine list is very good. The service was ok. They were prompt with pouring wine but they didn’t give an extra utensils to share the dishes(and I find it a little off putting when people are using the same fork to grab the food and sauces that they are putting in their mouth). This was inconsistent with the posh atmosphere. They also had to be promoted to explain which was the lamb, the chicken, the vegetarian dish etc and they seemed anxious to drop the dishes and jump away. The food was good. Not excellent. Not a lot heat to any dish. Small portions. Admittedly my expectations must have been too high. They weren’t met. I have much better Indian.

There are few places where i have no reservations about giving a 5⁄5 review, but the Cinnamon Club is most definitely one of them. A friend had been keen to visit the restaurant, especially after its recent refurbishment, so we decided to organise a Saturday brunch. The restaurant is so discreet one might have difficulties finding it(they’ve kept the old Westminster Library entrance) — upon entering you will see room to the left, which is the bar(please see photos), and the main restaurant ahead. The reception is well decorated with beautiful paintings, but the main restaurant has less — only because it’s kept the original bookshelves from the old library. We were sat on the open ground floor, but there is an upper level(as one would find in a library setup) which may offer a more intimate setting if necessary. Words don’t do the inner décor justice, so please refer to the photos. On to the food — we were well greeted by the waiting staff and lead to our table. After sitting down we were offered complimentary rice cakes — even before the menus had arrived! The menu offers a variety of dishes. Some of us went with the set menu, others a la carte — the portions are just right and the seasoning perfect. The alphonso mango was a theme throughout the brunch, with me ordering alphonso mango lassi to drink. The food came beautifully presented, and tasting equally good. Between our starter and main, as well as the main and dessert, we were offered complimentary sweets and alphonso mango — this didn’t feel forced or tacky — genuinely good fillers between meals. The staff were knowledgeable and friendly throughout the whole experience, even when we were leaving. The price came to approx. £45 per person for two/three courses and a drink. We were well satisfied with the whole experience and are certain to return. 5⁄5 no qualms about it.

What an cool and unusual restaurant, LOVE the library atmosphere of this restaurant. We met a couple of friends in London and they took us to this place. The food was more upscale and surely more elaborate than your usual Tikka masala. Great wine selection and great dishes. Duck breast is a must. Place gets really crowded so reservations is highly recommended.

Went here for my birthday during the week. It was a busy night for the restaurant. We were seated next to one of the bookshelves against the wall which was good. Started with a bottle of red Malbec which was very good. My starter was the Reshmi chicken kebab and my main was the Romney Marsh lamb with corn sauce and pilau rice. Both were melt in your mouth and the taste was flavoursome. I would definitely go back again.

I had high expectations for this place. The restaurant interior is beautiful, and I appreciate that they kept the Victorian library look and feel of the space. For the price point, I have to say that the food was less than stellar, and the portions were on the small side, requiring my group to order more and more. There was nothing in particular that stood out for me in terms of any dishes that«wowed» me, other than the butter chicken. However, I liken butter chicken to pizza. Even bad pizza is still pretty good pizza. Service was okay to below-average. I was without a drink for quite some time, and had to constantly flag the wait staff down to put my order in. For your money and time, I would probably try other places out over the Cinnamon Club. Not worth the time.

My husband booked a table here on my birthday. A very nice fine dining place. The first thing that I noticed was the huge library full of books. The food is itself an experience there! Exquisite and delicious menu. I felt like tasting everything ;) :P One of the places which I would recommend people to go.

This was the best accidental find! It was Boxing Day and we were wandering around London when I needed to use the bathroom, so we decided to eat here. The food was excellent, but I definitely recommend saving room for dessert — the sorbet trio is a perfect complement to any meal.

Amazing service, drinks and food. Loved every single dish severed, hands down my favorite fix menu experience thus far. Can’t wait to come back, thanks for the awesome night!

Extremely overrated Indian food that is neither here nor there ! Waste of time, money and the one star ! Stay home and look up an Indian recipe online — it’ll be more fun, satisfying and more Indian than you know.

My husband and I went here for dinner with one of my husband’s colleagues. The place has a very nice upscale feel to it, but people were dressed casually. No sneakers! The staff treats you as if you were in a fine dimimg establishment. There is a separate bar area and shelves and shelves of books. It is a library after all. The food is delicious and the portions just right. It is a bit pricey, but the quality of the food reflects that. This was a wonderful dining experience and I hope to revisit this place if I ever get back to London.

I’d say this is slightly overrated. I would give it 3.5 stars and for the price, would prefer Dishoom. Flavor wise, the food was good, but it didn’t exactly match the price tag. Unless you include the shaved gold that was added on top of our meat. Our service was also a little strange and left a lot of awkward moments between us and the staff member. Rather than providing guidance on the menu, the waiter kept insisting we get XYZ, which felt pushy and unresponsive to the table’s taste/needs.

Second time here this year, wow — definitely one of our favorites. Modern and ‘fine’ takes on indian cuisine with just amazing results. Nothing has disappointed. This latest time had the tandoori pigeon starter, it was the star of the night. Not just the meat, but the accompanying garnish flavors complemented so well I just wanted order three more. Had the lamb saddle main, which was perfectly medium rare and one of the most tender lamb cuts I’ve ever had. Also mentioned on the reservation that one of us had a shellfish allergy and didn’t eat starch, the server came fully prepared and made solid recommendations and substitutions without even asking(including a different ‘from the kitchen’ tasting starter for me). Only *extremely minor* suggestion would be to server the tea in a different type of pot. The nice glass pot provided no ability to remove the tea leaves, which left the water for ‘second cup’ seeping in the tea leaves while the first cup was being savored. The ‘second cup’ was then a quite bitter.

Vegans: there are three things we can eat here, but each of them is really good. Starter involving potato, spinach, coriander; main course a spicy jackfruit curry, and the holy grail: delicious vegan naan! The ambience, service, and wine list are amazing. So if you’re okay with the limited menu choices, you can have a great meal here with non-vegan friends.

refined take on Indian food. you won’t find the typical fare, and that’s okay with me. a new staple each time I visit London. can’t go wrong with the lunch set menu. service is as outstanding as the food.

Ein stylisches, modernes indisches Restaurant der gehobenen Kategorie. Sehr gutes Essen, höfliches Personal. Eine edle Flasche Champagner zu bestellen war auch kein Problem!

Great food with very unique flavors. It is definitely an expensive place as other reviews have pointed out, but you know that going in. As with many upscale restaurant, the portion size was pretty tiny. You definitely won’t leave feeling stuffed even if you order an app, entrée, and dessert. The restaurant itself is quite large and is housed in a old library, which made for a nice look and feel.

Many years ago, my dad told me I could get good Indian food for no more than £10 pp. Well suffice to say not here you can’t. From previous experience I was expecting overpriced food, arrogant service and a somewhat standoffish greeting at the front desk. In the main I wasn’t disappointed. The food however is very tasty, interesting flavours, so compliments to the chef and to 2 of the many waiters that served us. My favourite dish was the livers, which were exquisite. Why did I come here again I hear you ask? Because my other half needed to tick a box. In fairness it’s the wine that really bumps up the bill, so next time I might just stick to tap water!

The food here is amazing but we were clearly punished by our service staff for having booked for eight people when only five turned up. They virtually neglected our table despite having purchased large dinners, sides, appetizers, and bottles of wine. It was nearly embarrassing to see our waiter make numerous stops at every other table even when it was clear nothing was needed while neglecting ours. To make matters worse on the odd occasion he did stop he would apologize but gave no reason for his tardiness. So enjoy the food but be warned the staff behaves like they are above you.

So to be honest, I’m not the hardest to please when it comes to food and restaurants, which means I have a lot of favorites… But this is legitimately my favorite restaurant that I’ve ever been to. Now, Indian food is my favorite type of food, and I’ve had quite a lot of it, so I can pretty confidently say that this place is just the best. The flavors are incredible and the meat is so soft and perfectly cooked. I’ve been to London twice and gone here both times, both of which amazed me. My dad is also an Indian food fanatic and it’s his favorite too. My family even has their cookbooks, but I can’t say that our attempts have been anywhere close to the restuarant quality. The restaurant also has an elegant bar below, with great cocktails. The staff and waiters are also hands-down the most polite and helpful. I wish this restaurant was in the States!!!
