Came in for a Saturday dinner with some friends and overall, it was a nice evening with OK food and lots of good cheer in a very pretty setting. Food is standard-issue gastro pub. Four of us shared baked Camembert and gravlax cured with cinnamon and rum to start. Both were fine but not earth-shattering. My main, truffle poached trout, was a little overlooked and under seasoned, but not inedible. The steaks that my friends got looked good and received good reviews. They have a reasonably-priced wine list with some interesting options — a California cab franc called«Caberet Frank» stuck out. They also have a few rotating local beers on cask. The real reason to come is the beautiful dining room. It could definitely impress a date and provides a convivial backdrop for a group dinner. Overall, a good choice if you are already in the neighborhood, but not worth a trek across London.

I had a lovely Christmas meal here yesterday afternoon, a Sunday. This gastro pub is right at the very far end of the Northcote Road(be warned, it takes bloody ages(ok, like 20 minutes) to walk there from Clapham J, even more from Clapham Common(I learnt the hard way). Anyhow, it’s worth the wait. It was busy, and Christmassy, cosy and fun. We had a table of about 15 of us, and we had a set Christmas menu. I had the turkey(obv) and it was tasty delish. Also great bread to start which is always a delight in a pub where you don’t expect it to be good. Service was helpful and functional, not invasive, and they were really sweet to us bearing in mind we were a big rowdy group. Better still, it didn’t break the bank and was a pretty reasonable 25 quid per head(+ booze on top). I like it here and would recommend to others.

Although they use farm-fresh free range ingredients in their pub meals– the Bolingbroke is sadly an unremarkable experience. There is nothing terrible about the place but neither is their nothing remarkable to set it apart from the many pubs in the area.

I was very pleasantly surprised by dinner here. The restaurant section is lovely and the menu is great. All of our food was delicious. I never would have thought to go, but my husband booked it for dinner and I think we’ll be going back.

The atmosphere is wonderful – beautiful hardwood floors, lots of natural lighting in the back patio, and cute old pew chairs to sit on. The food and drinks, however, are disappointing. The beer selection is limited with only standard pub fare on draft. The roast chicken we had was so dry and overcooked that it was rubbery. To be fair, when we asked to send it back(I know, so American) they handled it with grace and replaced it with a roast beef. If I go again, I’ll stick to drinks.

Rather boring, identikit gastropub — food OK, but not inspiring, staff not all that cheery, and on one memorable occasion they managed to foul up a booking for 14, made two weeks in advance. Last time I went the service was quite literally sloppy — the liquid remains of my(mediocre) moules marinieres being sloshed liberally over a fellow diner by waiting staff with a weak wrist. The sort of place you might come if All Bar One was full; it is broadly kiddie friendly however, unlike ABO.

Fantastic atmosphere and started & finished well, but the mains were a bit disappointing. Really liked the lighting and cute, cozy gastropub atmosphere. The terrine to start was lovely, and olives & bread were nice(although kind of annoying to pay for it). The pie and pork as mains were both very dry, but the fish was quite nice. And puddings were excellent.

Child friendly pub but still adult friendly as well. Went for Sunday lunch and food and drinks were all great. Children’s meals came out first even though one of our party of six decided they wanted a starter! Probably not the place to go if you just want to have a drink during lunch or dinner peak times. Don’t forget to reserve a table and enjoy!

There are many personalitles in Clapham, some I love and some can grate. The yummy mummy and sloaney soldier parade of Northcote Rd have made this very tasteful and upmarket pub/restaurant their own. When well groomed and obviously wealthy chaps are dressed in suits or donning the chinos, blue shirt and jacket combo on a Sunday evening, I know i’m not going to fit in. Especially wearing some jeans, flip flops and a hoody! You’ll find these types in droves here, paying for the pleasure of sitting at the outside seats drinking chapagne and openly judging those who walk past. Yep, you can see why it grates a little. The judgemental idiots who reside here apart, the place is really quite lovely. Tasteful décor, standard drinks selction and what looks like some very decent food. They have what seems to be a seperate area reserved for eating — although I didn’t get to try. I’m not going to rush back here, but If I do i’ll dig out the yellow cords and boat shoes. Maybe brush up on some slurs about the working class?

Great dining pub at the bottom end of Northcote Road. They stock Landlord ale, mmmm and do some lovely food. I had the burger with some awesome chips, though I saw some great food delivered to the table next door — the pork belly looked especially good. My wife said that the virgin marys were really really good, only thing that could improve them was Vodka. This is a smart gastropub, great to pop into after a busy day shopping, but you may have to book — there were a lot of «reserved» tabs on the tables.

Looked in here for a drink yesterday lunchtime and was asked four times by the over-familiar, snippy staff-with-attitude if we wanted to eat — talk about pushy! We won’t return.

Bought my dog because of this pub. Walked in one day and the place was full of folk drinking taylors /white wine /cocktails and chilling, great staff, good vibe and then i noticed everyone had a dog. And it occured to me, how cool. A place you can go, with your four footed friend and have a pint and a chill out. There is bar food and resturant food here. Bar food good, resturant food not so. Skip the poncy bit at the back, stay out front with the real folk and of course… bring your dog.

Yet another gastro pub in trendy Clapham, but do we really need another mediocre one? The weirdest thing about this place is that the décor and food don’t match up. It looks really nice, but when you scratch the surface the cheese on toast is made with Tesco value white bread and a bowl of sausages that arrived for my meat eating friends looked like they had been fried in a pan of lard and still swimming in it. The food was really poor. The restaurant looked nice but after an experience with the pub food I’m not sure we’ll be coming back.
