This is a lovely hotel both in terms of the architecture and the service. It is also in a good location. On the downside the room was hot, a little noisy(the sash Windows rattled) and my sink plug go stuck so the water wouldn’t drain away. Awesome Christmas tree!(See picture) Comfiest bed ever! Reception staff were spot on! Great mini bar!

The room was very tiny, but they did do a good job cleaning the room. The bathroom was a bit exasperating. They just had a half glass blocker for the tub and so when you take a shower be prepared to get water all over the floor. Annoying. Another downer was how we were greeted. We arrived on a late Sunday evening and the front desk lady was not on her A game, she was rude and distracted and shouting orders at colleagues and then directed that energy at us and luckily my partner who didn’t care for it matched that energy and front desk lady simmered down. Not cool. Otherwise the location was good, close to the tube and the British Museum.

Hidden gem in the heart of London. Restaurant with excellent service and nice atmosphere. I recommend the steak, crab ravioli and bar menu pizza. Nice, relaxing, friendly. I will be back.

Staff is very friendly, upon checking everything was great! The front staff Zaan was so helpful. It was our first time in the UK and our honeymoon. The at the front upgraded our room :) what a great start to our honeymoon. The rooms are a decent size for the UK. Location was great, we walked everywhere and a lot of restaurants, shops, sight seeing along the way. The hotel is clean and I am a neat freakso this was up to my standards:) highly recommended hotel!!!

I came here after a stroll through the British Museum to treat my wife to afternoon tea with«free flowing» champagne. The Swedish girl working the afternoon tea in the lobby basically ran it all by herself, I think a manager came by to do a pour at another table once. That said, the Swede was very nice to us and kept that champagne coming as advertised. The sandwiches were tasty, but I think my aunt in Arkansas makes them better. She’s sorta into the whole English thing, even has corgis. The scones and clotted cream and jam were the highlight for myself. Clotted cream sounds pretty unappealing but it’s actually damn good stuff! The tea was, well it’s tea so it’s pretty good and goes surprisingly well with a few glasses of bubbly. The little pastries left me and the wife wanting for a bit more«Wow!» but overall the presentation and service was top notch. It was a great way to end our trip in London, and if I had the dough it would be a nice hotel by the looks of it to spend a few nights in. What made me give it four stars though is just the atmosphere of being in a historic hotel with beautiful art on the walls and door men who wear bowler hats. In a word, it was very British. Word to the wise, go online and find a deal for afternoon tea on one of the tea websites instead of paying full price. Our deal would have cost 150 pounds versus the 70 pounds I booked the reservation for.

It’s the little room that couldn’t. Hair dryers, thermostats, lights, outlets and drains don’t work without constant calls to staff and storage is so limited that my pajamas are squeezed next to the mini bar. Location is great but this hotel is sorely lacking an accommodating spirit. Operated as a 1 star hotel in a 4 star space… what a con And it doesn’t improve: we have to keep calling-out the same issues every day. Please do yourself a favor and don’t book here

My husband and I stayed at this lovely boutique hotel for five days whilst in London for a friend’s wedding and reception at The Savoy, which is walking distance. It was very cosy, the staff are friendly, and we had everything we required, including soft bath robes and slippers. It is convenient to Tottenham Court Tube station and close to everything. We used to live in Bloomsbury as students, and the immediate surroundings have improved quite a lot with nice shops and restaurants. Our suite exceeded our expectations — newly refurbished washroom, comfortable pillow-top bed and stylish interiors. The lobby is delightful as is the terrace(romantic at night, with twinkling lights) — I’d recommend this hotel over others in the area for its personalised service, beautiful interiors/common areas, and breakfast was included with our room rate. Note: There is free wi-fi in the rooms, USB ports and charging stations for all your electronic needs; there is also a fitness centre and juice bar for your health needs :).

Lovely but inaccessible from street. Large staircase which makes lugging suitcases tricky. Lobby is pretty and fresh plums were a treat when I arrived, Difficult to get a taxi. Must walk down the street to hail a taxi. Decent restaurants near by — southern Indian, Greek… My room had a large window that opened for fresh air and the sound of rain. Very soothing. I appreciated the iron and ironing board in the room instead of paying some ridiculous amount for a simple pressing.

a nice hotel very close to Tottenham court station. Friendly staff and a nice touch of hot towels to clean our hands with at reception. The breakfast was plentiful from the buffet and the english breakfast was tasty. The Landseer restaurant was very nice and i will leave a review seperately for this. I loved the monogrammed slippers and robe a nice touch however they only fit to a size large and are unisex. The room on the 7th floor was rather small but cosy and the coffee machine with pods was a nice touch and they still provided a kettle and instant coffee, tea hot chocolate with 2 small bottles of water

Un hôtel absolument splendide et une situation idéale dans Londres(proche de la gare Eurostar de saint Pancras) Un service au top, un personnel chaleureux et souriant. Un vrai bonheur de séjourner dans un établissement d’une telle classe !

Where should I start… Don’t know if me and my wife just where unlucky, but this ain’t good. They call themselves a four star hotel, I’m really been to better bed and breakfasts. To pay for a double room and then get a single bed without a mattress pad that’s not what I expect in a four star hotel

Spacious room in a well laid out hotel. Perfectly located near many sites and the staff ensures that you are well informed. Planning a trip back to London and have another stay planned at bloomsbury.

I really like the service at this Bloomsbury hotel — I always get greeted with snacks and occasionally hand-signed cards. The breakfast is also pretty good and the waiting staff are quick and efficient. Definitely recommend this hotel for a comfortable stay. It’s also a central location and a quick walk to Tottenham Station.

I don’t understand what all the hype is about. We stayed at this hotel after staying at the back bay hotel in Boston which was also part of the Doyle Collection(no longer the case as the Boston hotel is now owned by Loews). We had very high expectations following our Boston experience. The whole stay was just OK. It was just nothing special that’s all. The room was fine the hotel was fine, the eating areas had a bit of a «smell» that wedding hall kitchen or old cafeteria smell. We just weren’t wowed and would probably stay elsewhere next time.

From the moment I reached the wonderful doorman Mario in his bowler hat and traditional suit, I had the loveliest experience ever in a hotel stay, and that is saying a lot. I left Amanpuri resort hugging my assigned assistant and crying with her as my stay was so lovely, but nothing matched my experience at the Bloomsbury Hotel so near the British Museum. After weather-related terrible delays getting to London, I was desperately late for my appointment for the difficult-to-get Ice Age Exhibit at the British Museum. I got to the Bloomsbury Hotel with 10 minutes’ time to reach the museum. Roddy was at the desk taking care of every problem to get me checked in, my bags to my room and a bottle of water for me in my jet-lagged, frazzled, exhausted state. I promptly spilled the water over the front desk area. They were gracious and kept working for me as the rushed to save papers and equipment I had just«christened.’ Thanks to them, I reached the exhibit on time. I returned to the hotel to have Jonathan serving me in the warm, yet chic lounge. He was a delight helping me learn this area of London better after usually staying at the Marriott County Hall and the Kensington area. I got to my room and it was warm and beautiful while efficient and meeting every need. The young gentleman at the front desk was in my room in about 1 min. when I had difficulty getting the internet in my jet-lagged stupor(It was actually easy to get and free, I simply wasn’t functioning!). He set up my new, complicated power transformer in addition to this help and graciously refused a gratuity. The next morning Roddy saw me on my way to breakfast with a heavy bag and escorted me while carrying the bag and seeing that I got the perfect treatment at breakfast. The smoked fish that I love was heavenly and every offering was delicious and of the highest quality. As I was waiting to meet a friend for lunch, Nalif at the concierge desk and Andrea at the front desk arranged VIP tickets for my friend and I to attend the sought-after Pompeii exhibit at the museum as Roddy helped me with everything from a problem with my air reservation to Malta to arranging to rush me to Heathrow airport after this second museum visit. The bell staff personally escorted my friend and I to the museum and introduced us to the ticket-taker/VIP service at the door to the exhibit. As an avid traveler, this was my first trip after two difficult injuries and a challenging illness with a related weight gain, so I wasn’t traveling in top form. It could have been a disaster. Thanks to the amazing staff at the Bloomsbury, it was the perfect trip — and they took care of it all!

We are so glad that we chose the Bloomsbury Hotel! After booking the hotel I had immediately contacted the hotel via e-mail and requested info as to what transportation options were available from London Heathrow Airport to the hotel. Within 24 hours I had received a response from the hotels head Concierge(Brian Murphy). Great service so far!(we ended up taking the Heathrow Express train to Paddington then a taxi to the hotel). Upon arrival, we had found a bottle of Moet Chandon Champagne in our hotel room chilling in a bucket for us… nice touch!(Thank You). Throughout our entire stay, the staff(housekeeping, front desk, porter/concierge) were extremely courteous, helpful and professional. We loved the décor of the place. The hotel lobby always smelled good. Maybe it was scented candles? Our hotel room was nice. The air conditioning worked perfectly(thermostat controlled and was very quiet). The bed and pillows were comfortable. The desk had international outlets, USB port and a iPhone(iHome) dock so we were able to juice up all our gadgets(USA) with no problem. My only complaint is the shower/bathtub. The shower only had a half door, it did not cover the entire length of the bathtub. So, every time we took a shower, water was splashed/flooded onto parts of the bathroom floor.(sidenote: when we were in Paris, our hotel also had a half door thingy, what is up with that?). The hotel was close to everything we wanted. It was so easy to hail a taxi. The Bloomsbury was within walking distance to Soho, Covent Garden and Oxford street. We were able to catch a bus down the street and the Tottenham Court Road tube(train) station was within walking distance. We decided to eat one dinner and a breakfast at the hotels restaurant, we enjoyed it. We loved the Bloombsury and would stay at this hotel again. Giving this 4.5 stars.

Stayed here the last night of the Olympics as our main hotel had been bought out by Cadbury’s for the games. Pros: Fantastic location, 2 blocks from Tottenham Court Road tube station, 2 blocks to the British Library, and 1 block from Oxford St. Despite the central and very noisy location, our room was silent as a tomb. I’m the lightest sleeper you can imagine, and I slept like a baby. The room was ready when we checked in at 9am, which was awesome because we’d just gotten off of a red-eye from San Francisco and really really really needed a shower. Free wifi = excellent. There was also a fitness room, but we were too busy to use it. For Bank of America customers, there’s a Barclay’s(no-fee ATM withdrawals) one block away at the corner of Great Russell St and Tottenham Court Road, as well as a Sainsbury’s where you could load up on cheap groceries and other sundries. Cons: We were in room 717, which is a king-sized room with a little landing /window area(e.g., not a balcony, but it looked like people had snuck out there to smoke because it was full of butts). Unfortunately, the bathroom also smelled of cigarette smoke and it had soaked into the towels so we had to have the bathroom cleaned again.(Btw, it’s a non-smoking hotel). There was a small bench thing right under the TV that screamed«suitcases go here»(because there was no luggage rack), but the space between the bench and the bed was too narrow so I got several nasty bruises from the suitcase, the bench, and the bed frame.(And we were only there for 1 night.) The bathroom… what is it with these half doors on the tub/shower?! Such a bad idea. Water gets everywhere! Also, the sink actually hung over the tub, so you really have to be careful when taking a bath and getting up. One slip and you’re sure to hit your head on the sink edge. *** There was no alarm clock in the room. We asked for a wake-up call(2 wake up calls 15 minutes apart, to be safe) and we had NOWAKEUPCALLS. If we had to catch a flight(luckily we did not), we would have missed it for sure. *** So I’m not sure if I’d come back because the room was just so strangely shaped, and the cigarette problem thing, and the Lack of a wakeup call!

A posh hotel in central London. It’s off on a side street so it’s very quiet given that it’s a few steps away from bustling Oxford St. The British Museum is literally on its door step and theres plenty of dining and shopping areas within walking distance(Covent Gardens & Soho). Another convenience it that you’re also less than a block away from the tube station and various bus stops. The rooms are a little small by American standards(banged my knee a couple times on the bed) but they have the business traveler in mind with free wifi and a power strip with international plugs.( ) I did miss my American amenities like a fridge and ice machine. They’ll provide a cooler upon request but it’s tabletop and fit 2 sodas. The light in the room wasn’t working and it took 2 days and 3 calls til a staff member finally fixed it. Beautiful retro antique hotel. Turn down service. Friendly staff. Expensive bar. Prime location. Around £200/night.( ) Theres a market to recharge your oyster card right next door.( )

I love the hotel! A lot of people like me mistake this hotel with the Radisson near by but this one is far more quaint! Walking distance to a lot of major destinations i. e British Museum, shopping etc. Best part comes with an converter in the wall. No need to bring your own converter! :) They will bring anything you need too!
