It’s dark in here. Dark. Try not to fall over. On the plus side, this place is very cool — a cozy cocktail lounge with unique bar nibbles in an off piste central London location. The snacks we received were super tasty, and cooked in the fantastic restaurant downstairs. If you can’t afford a meal, just get drinks and snacks! Although our exact drinks order eludes me now, I remember the flavours being very unique yet well executed. They err on the side of strong not sweet, which is just to my taste. It is table device, and the staff are very attentive and top up your complimentary water on the regular! I would definitely come back here for an easygoing, reasonably priced cocktail experience. No ball gowns required — just adventurous taste buds, and perhaps a flashlight…

Quaint, sweet little secretive upstairs bar at pollen st social house. Some very good cocktails. Not too busy either. It’s very dark inside but the drinks make up for it.

Will this is a little bit suave!!! Came here upon a Friday night with a friend of mine, we were in search of a slightly more refined setting to enjoy a nice old fashioned. If you go looking for a sign saying the blind pig you will not fit it. Market out by a red opticians sign you will then see a pigs head knocker upon the door and on the weekend a man with a clipboard! BEHOLDTHECLIPBOARD — FOUNTAINOFALLKNOWLEDGEANDPOWER. As per any situation with a man and a clipboard its best be to be nicer than nice. We were not on his clipboard but after a witty back and forth we were grnated entry to the inner sanctum of the blind pig. Located above the social Eating house once you climb the stairs and pass ythrough the curtains you enter the speak easy style bar. With table service you will feel relaxed and with sytylish music and great drinks you will have a good time. The drinks aren’t cheap but it speakeasys are your thing you will really enjoy a trip to the blind pig!

Last week was my second visit to The Blind Pig. I do like it :) The entrance is a little inconspicuous, which I like and the ‘Optician’ sign was a little winky face sticking out the wall. This was a last-ish minute decision to attend so unsurprisingly I hadnt booked. Luckily for me, the guys on the phone pointed out that they only book half the bar so there is a possibility of being to get an impromptu seat when necessary. So I turned up, Wednesday evening, to be greeted by a very lovely lady who in fact showed me there were three seats at the bar where I plonked my suited self, down. The barman was attentive but not overly so, and hooked me up with some cucumber water. The drinks selection is pretty wide but I was craving a strong Malbec and strong malbec he gave me :-D They also have a great selection of whisky and i remember having the famous Japanese Yamazaki on my previous visit. I love the atmosphere and décor in TBP, dimly lit, good music with«creative types» and thespians in the mix. I can definitely imagine myself returning in the future, a pre-dinner cocktail or another one of their strong malbecs.

I really liked the feel of this place — it was like I’d stepped into a different era. My date had warned me the door wasn’t clearly marked from the street; what I hadn’t expected though was a sign saying ‘Optician’ instead! The blindfolded pig head door knocker and muffled music soon gave it away though. I headed straight up the staircase, past the truffle smells coming from the restaurant on the ground floor, following the swing music sounds to the classy upstairs bar. This unintentionally gave me some extra exercise, as after finding my date saving a couple of bar stools for us I had to head back down two flights of stairs to the basement in search of the loo. The bar itself was busy busy on a Wednesday eve, with all the seats taken and a fair crowd of lurkers ready to swoop as they emptied. My date was feeling pretty pleased with himself, not only for suggesting the venue but also getting there early enough to get us a couple of spots at the bar. Nice work indeed! They sadly didn’t have one of the ingredients for the Laphroaig 10 based ‘long islay iced tea’ I chose first, but after asking for another whisky cocktail the sweet barman made me a ‘Buck Stops Here’, which had plenty of ingredients I didn’t even recognise(what’s a Benjamin Franklin when it’s in a drink?!). It tasted fine, perhaps a little sweet for me. I think I actually enjoyed the showmanship behind the bar more than the final product — pouring liquid into a glass from a three ft height is definitely not as easy as he made it look! Great spot for a pre/post dinner drink, but almost a bit too bustling and animated to stay there all evening, and for the same reason I wouldn’t recommend it for a group. It’s one of the sexier looking speakeasies around though, the lights slightly dimmed but still light enough to read the menu(I have a mild hang-up about places that make me squint to unattractive extremes) and lots of gleaming bronze and marble surfaces around the bar. Slightly awks moment as two couples both tried to swoop for our spots as we got up — but we left them to fight it out themselves!

Came here on a Friday night based on the amazing reviews and thought I’d give it a shot. I’ve Gotta say — I wasn’t blown away. Yes it’s a cool entrance. But the cocktails were pretty small, they weren’t chilled, and were no better than regular cocktails you can get for a tenner pretty much anywhere. Service was good despite it being a busy Friday night. Without a reservation we managed to get a perching spot. They could do with putting the AC on.

Excellent little speakeasy on Poland St. Managed to get a walk-in with 4ppl on a Thursday night. Great ambience and décor. Excellent cocktails and fantastic service. Would definitely come back.

Fantastic. Loved this place from the moment I laid eyes on the blindfolded pig doorknocker. Dim, sexy atmosphere. Friendly service. And last but certainly not least, delicious, unique drinks with intriguing, entertaining names. I had a pickle drink that was served with a toothpick with 3 tiny, adorable gherkins. Loved it. Highly recommended this spot!

If I could come here every day I would. Who am I kidding, I come here often enough the staff know my name and call it my Soho Office. Open from noon, but generally quiet till 5pm, it’s a perfect place to have meetings, do work, drink cocktails, have good banter and laugh at Gareth Evens amazing puntastic menu. oh yeah, and those afore mentioned cocktails? Some of the best in town. No. Joke. and don’t miss their bar snacks — they come from the Michelin Starred kitchen downstairs. Boom.

You’ll only find this bar if you know about it. If you like a little mystery, look for the«Opticians» sign above the wooden door with the blindfolded pig knocker. The doorman will probably keep you waiting for a while but I think that adds positively to the excitement. Once inside you can see into the restaurant area of The Social Eating House, so they’re not really separated, the bar is just upstairs. I liked the dark ambience and the classy design but the music was definitely a bit too loud. The staff made sure we were never short on cucumber water. The drinks menu contains interesting cocktails and endless lists of spirits — maybe 20 different gins? I ordered a Are you a Mexican or a Mexican’t(9.50) which was good but didn’t taste very different from a Margarita to be honest. My friend ordered an Undercurrent Pale Ale(6.50) which was really flavourful and had amazing froth. It’s weird to mention it but I also really liked the bathroom with its elegant, old-fashioned tiles. Definitely visit BLINDAS A PIG, even if it’s just for the experience.

Came here a few weeks ago. The doorman was polite, which I think is very important, it’s very welcoming. The service is really great, friendly and attentive. The cocktails are delicious, innovative and fun. Tried a few, and all were fantastic. The ‘Cereal Killer’ was cool, a Cheerio milk based cocktail served in a glass milk carton! Didn’t try the food, but it sounded good. Loved the metal steins they put the beers in. Atmosphere was buzzing. Quality place, also a good date spot.

Absolutely amazing!!! The drinks were phenomenal and the presentation was a treat. Prices were not too bad(£9) as speakeasy cocktails tend to be much higher. Best drinks were The Silver Spoon and The Benjamin Franklin. Definitely sit at the bar and watch the whole experience and ‘the art of making a cocktail’.

Spot is very nice. Cocktail list is a bit pretentious. Staff is very busy even though there are plenty of them, yet really nice. Wine selection is ok. Olives are delicious. Atmosphere is warm so good for dates :)

Hidden above the Social Eating House, like a true speakeasy. Look for the«Opticians» sign and the door with the distinctive knocker. The Social Eating House is easy to find; the Blind Pig is on the floor above it. We got several rounds of cocktails, all of which were delicious. We also tried the fish and chips(with goose fat fries!) which were some of the best fish and chips I’ve had in London. Everything is fairly expensive(as is typical for a nice cocktail bar) but not ridiculous. I highly recommend if you are looking for a great cocktail in London, or some nice snacks.

Great cocktails and a decently deliciously named list. All cocktails are up to par although portions might be just so slightly small. Don’t be fooled by the restaurant hours this place hits its bar hour at the merely awakening NOON O’CLOCK. aka the boozy big twelve PM. that’s right folks, good booze comes in good hours, and this is where y’all should be at. Drinks also came fairly quick too. Last words: be merry? get tipsy.

A classy place without the pretentious attitude. Even though my friend and I didn’t have a reservation on a packed night, we were offered comfortable standing space and sought out as soon as seating became available. That’s great customer service. While my friend ordered one of their many unique cocktails that the waiter recommended, I ordered a cheap tempranillo wine that was quite good(and the waiter didn’t sneer, but commended me on my choice). Next time I’ll definitely try a cocktail.

Worth searching for while in town, great décor and atmosphere, love the way they serve drinks in metal tankards and the gents room was a pleasure to visit lol… Visited with a few friends for drinks only and was well looked after by very friendly staff. Lots of seating with a very cosy but classy feel, very enjoyable with some amazing and unusual cocktails along with the more regular drinks you would expect of a speak easy bar!

Love the unusual flavours here. Quite a lot of the syrups and tonics are made on site and they are so unique, so flavourful. The staff here are fabulous and recommended cocktails as per my friend’s tastbuds. The names are super cool too — try saying Greengage Mutant Ninja Myrtle after you’ve drunk it and you’ll embarass yourself. This is my fave cocktail bar of this year(and that’s saying something!!)

Situated above Social Eating House restaurant, this is one of my favourite cocktails bars in Central London. It’s usually pretty busy but have so far been able to nab some seats by the bar on my visits. The bar staff are really friendly and attentive, and they mix up some really impressive cocktails! One of my favourites was the Night Watchman. Service is fast and efficient, you don’t have to wait ages for your drinks like some other bars that I’ve been to. I love sitting at the bar and watch the different cocktails being mixed up, which then tempts me to order it for myself(!) The interior décor is cool and classy, great for a night out with friends or for a romantic date maybe? ;)
