Backyard Comedy Club is my local comedy venue, and it’s a shame that I’ve only been there twice so far. A first night was about 7 months ago(went there with Wil — see review below) was not so good, and I am pretty sure I was asleep for most of the night. A second time proved to be much better — hilarious acts, and the back room is absolutely packed! Will definitely be getting a lot use of the never ending ticket!

The venue is great… with lots of room for people though the night i attended, was practically empty. :) And probably for the best as 2 of the 3 the acts that night were horrible. But can’t complain too much as it was a free evening… The front room where the bar is has a very homely and comfortable feel to it… It has a number of comfy couches as well as a table tennis table for a bit of physically activity if one requires… The back room where the comedy is held could do with a little more comfortable seating… Or it may have just been me slouched over showing my lack of enthusiasm for the acts that night. Would i go back? Yes ill give it a second chance.

Briliant comedy venue — consistently good acts and good value for money as far as proper comedy clubs in London go. Quite rare in the fact that it is a full-time comedy venue and not a room above a pub. The Thursdays are great — lots of varied comics for a fiver. Food is simple but good, just a pizza menu with a few sides on offer. I go here regularly.

Friends and I got tickets to the Friday night comedy show, and were looking forward to it. Despite the efforts with pretty bunting and a table tennis table, I can’t help but feel like the Backyard Comedy Club bar feels like an old skool uni Yellow Card pub. I then realise it’s attached to the Premier Inn and it all makes sense. The wine was ok, only 1 choice of each colour by the glass, but the food was just pizza and no GF options at all. Then onto the comedy. The first guy was dire! And he knew he bombed, because he couldn’t stop mentioning it! Luckily the rest were a lot better… The final act, a Canadian guy actually was hilarious. But sadly overall, I probably wouldn’t return.
