I am actually a regular at the Asparagus(it’s my local) so I thought it only fair that I take time to give it a 5 stars. All the cheap food and drink that you can expect from a Wetherspoons! But they are also very quick in the kitchen. And they always bring the food at the same time witch is often not the case with food in other pubs. At the Asparagus whatever food you order you will have it hot at the same with your friends! That a big thumbs up!

This unusual name for a pub should not put you off trying it if you are in Battersea or Clapham. It has one large bar with comfy sofas. It has Wetherspoons usual good range of beers and reasonably priced food. About 15 minutes walk from Clapham Junction station or there is off street parking. The service was good which cannot be said of all Wetherspoons pubs. The tables were clean and I enjoyed my visit here.

I hate going into bars and seeing the shot stopper or liquor count on bottles when sometimes it’s clear as day that the mechanism didn’t relate a shot at all. Was here and order a shot and told them it wasn’t a full shot and got a blank stare. I work behind a bar you got to give and take with customers. Since I didn’t get a top up on the less of a shot I didn’t spend no more money. Haven’t ate food here but I hear it’s good pub grub. Still is a good place to go and grab a pint for a decent price so no complaint on price. And it’s the place at least one relative in town cars there bar

The first impression I got as I came in this morning is of pint drinking old men. The second was of inexpensive breakfasts. The staff however were very stressed and short in supply. You need to take the table number and go up to the bar to order and pay and on the morning I was in there, there seemed to be only one girl trying to do everything from take the money, serve the food and clear the tables. Hard to keep a smile on your face I’d say but she tried. The food was fine and tasty, I ordered a vegetarian breakfast which consisted of egg, hash browns, beans, mushroom(singular) and veggie sausage and I was full when I left. I had originally wanted to order eggs benedict but I was told they had no eggs benedict to which I was bemused about. Maybe only 1 chef on duty? The tables were sticky and the floors tacky which made me feel a bit grubby but at least not hungry.

The cream of South Chelsea society meet here on a regular basis. Wetherspoon operation and the staff are pleasant. Beers are in good condition.

Wevverspoons is Wevverspoons innit? I’m neither a huge fan nor a big critic of these establishments, and as they go, The Asparagus is alright. Cheap and cheerful, the atmosphere is mellow and relaxed, rather than rowdy and grotty as I’ve seen elsewhere. It’s a short walk from Clapham Junction and the only non-restaurant in the area that I could find serving hot chocolate at 9 pm on a Friday night. Without going into why I wanted such a thing at such a time, let’s just say I was happy.

Lovely English Pub with a small beer garden(smokers can smoke!). For £7 they would serve an enormous plate with meat selection which is 2 sausages, 2 lamb chops, gammon, steak, chips, salad and onion rings. Double shots at the price of single. My friend showed it to me tonight and I could not believe the prices, food quality and atmosphere. IMHO lovely pub.
