super cool rockabilly clothes. i bought an expensive cotton dress last time I was there, washed it by hand in cold water, & now it does not fit anymore :-( I guess i’ll have to go back to London to replace it

Many of you may have walked past this shop, and possibly been in without even knowing it’s name. That ‘s pretty much what I’ve done for the past 8 years I’ve been in London and gone shopping in Camden. We all know I’m sliver of vintage but every now and then the shapes and sizes of the 1950s just don’t work well. When that happens, head here. You’ll find a fabulous selection of clothes replicating goth Victorian costumes and rockabilly wiggle dresses. They stock Vivien Of Holloway so it’s all pretty pricy but it’s a fun place to play.

This is one of my favourite stores in the world! Yes — the world!(Check my reviews, I’m quite the traveller :) Hehe). They carry a mish-mash of clothing items but every time I’m in London I stop in and always leave with something unique, fabulous and beautiful. They have so many beautiful things here! The Vivien of Holloway rockabilly dresses are adorable. My treasures from Arc so far are a corset(a fashion one, I’d love to splurge for one of their true corsets with steel boning and proper busks but they are quite expensive), a beautiful gothic black velvet skirt and some lovely lace face masks. The«fitting room» is a curtained off area that gets very stuffy very quickly. Since this shop is open on weekdays, try to avoid the weekends when it gets super crowded and busy in here. If you’re in Camden Market, and looking for something unique to add to your closet then you have to check this store out.

The Arc on Chalk Farm Road, Camden is a girl’s shop. A haven from the sulky teenage Goths and frantic Italian tourists who seem to dominate Camden I felt like I had stepped into the wardrobe of a fifties movie star. The shop retails everything from handmade Indian and Chinese evening gowns to polka dotted rockabilly dresses, satin corsets, lace parasols, elbow length velvet gloves and vintage shoes. The owner Janet sources the clothes on visits to India and China and all are handmade and individual. The cost may be a little expensive but the unique value is priceless.
