As an American all I can say is brilliant! Had a blast at this club! The owner and manger are fantastic. Super accommodating and truly care about their business. Fun club with an actual swimming pool. The club is located in the very up and coming Shoreditch area of London. Do try the toffee vodka shot, you will not be dissatisfied!

Amazing place and staff… This was a fun place totally inviting to Americans which is hard to come by! This place is so fun with a pool and a dance floor! Bring your suit or just swim in your skivvies! There is many different floors and bars to go for a different ambiance. I love a place that welcomes all and has a great vibe and ambiance. This is definitely recommended to everyone and people who want to have fun, plan a trip here now:) such a fun night!

Aquarium… Where to start! Like many people, I’m sure, we ended up here after being handed wristbands when leaving The Shoreditch down the road — when my male companions heard there was an indoor pool and hot tub, there was no stopping them. At the door they were operating a girls-go-free-but-blokes-pay entry policy, which, as a lady myself, always makes me feel a little uncomfortable. Inside there was plenty of room for drinks and dancing… To be honest I don’t remember the music! The pool and hot tub is in a completely separate room, with only a tiny window into the bar — which was great, as you didn’t feel like you were being ogled by randomers. Pay a quid and you get the privilege of using the hot tub and pool, with a towel afterwards to dry off before hitting the club again. No drinks are allowed in the area, which is a shame but presumably a health and safety requirement. I was pleasantly surprised, as the only girl in there, that there was zero hint that any of the guys were there just for the girls — this meant we really did just have a laugh. The bar don’t let any non-swimmers in the room, which also helps, and there is always an attendant keeping an eye out to make sure nobody drowns! Aquarium is by no means the classiest place, but I’m sure I’ll end up there again at the end of a night. In fact, now I think of it we did try to go there again this week — however despite being advertised as being open until 4am on a Wednesday, when we turned up at 2.30am it was completely closed which was a disappointment.

Worst club ever! If I could I would give half a star, too many transsexual guys dressing like women and barely any girl, We went to check out the swimming pool and jacuzzi but really nothing special about it I’d rather go to our local leisure centre next time!

Best club ever ever ever ever ever! It has a swimming pool and a jacuzzi in it!!! What’s not to love?.. literally cannot believe I have been living in London for 5 years and not been here!!! I was in a jacuzzi at 3.30am this morning… in a club… and I jumped right into a freezing pool shouting my life motto«what would Christian Bale do?»

I had such a hilarious night here, so I must admit I chuckled at the negative reviews. For me personally a night out is what you make it, and there’d need to be significant barriers to prevent me from having a good time. We arrived after being somewhere else where they only played dubstep… in fact not even, there was nothing but a basic beat. We wanted a boogie. We heard about the pool and thought it’d be a laugh. The bouncers were a great laugh and allowed us a haggle on the entry fee. Thank god, as the booze ain’t cheap. The music played was your classic cheesy I’m-dancing-all-night music — Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, etc etc. We decided to paddle in the pool as it has a 2ft deep section(as well as the 5ft deep part and a jacuzzi) to cool off our dancing feet. Until I lost my footing a gave myself a bath. Hilarious mind you! It’s not trendy, classy, etc etc but the foundations are there for a good night out with a bit of a difference!

The staff here are rather friendly which is always a good start but I do think it’s a bit over priced. Not too crazy on the décor neither. The music would be more approrpriate in a club than in the sit down bar that it is. But can’t knock the pool — that is pretty cool(not meaning to rhyme!).

This is a favorite place for me when i visit london, as my friend lives down the street. I can hear the music from his flat, anyway the place is cool. The manger there is koo, l told him we were visting from the states and he told me to call whenever, I am in london to hang out. The music is everthing from house, trance, techno, hip-hop, the place is huge. Although I have not taken a swim there the pool is huge. You can see it through a picture frame glass window while on one of the many dance floors. If you look supper hott in bathing attire. I would say party like a crazy rock star, then get in the pool, whirlpool or sauna and have a great flight back to the states. Drink lots of water!!! Cheers

It’s a good place to go once in a blue moon, lots of fancy dress! Drinks are expensive but being in shoreditch these days it’s the going rate! Overall a fun night out!

Club Aquarium was once a cool place to be on a Saturday night. The idea of having a club with a swimming pool really did appeal to me and my friends when we were around 18, many of us would go there to get our cheap thrills, looking through the windows of the pool area. The great thing was that you didn’t have to swim, and if you did, it would cost an extra five pound, that would get you access to the pool and a towel. I do enjoy a swim, but I tend to go swimming pools at fitness centres, costing a lot less. The last time I went to the Club Aquarium was for an after party, we got the at 6 am and left at around 10 am, so it’s a venue that provides a challenge, to party all night. It is a very well known venue with a great sound system, so it often has top DJ’s performing. It is only a few minutes walk from Old Street Tube, so if your in the Old Street area and the club you were at shut at 4am, you can make your way to the Aquarium, chill there, watch people swim, have a drink, and by the time you do all that through the crowd, the underground would have opened. It is the only club in the UK to have a pool, it’s a novelty and worth a visit. Definitely suggest the morning after party’s.

I implore you not to go to Aquarium unless you are concerned wholly with having a fashionable and drug mangled night which you won’t be able to remember the next day anyway. I got persuaded to go here once by a friend who was leaving, therefore I felt like I ‘had’ to go. In hindsight I wish I wasn’t being so ‘nice’ because I had an awful night and couldn’t even leave the club to go home as I had to wait for people to share a taxi. Firstly, the only attraction to this place is that it is the ‘only club in England with a swimming pool’. Big deal. We aren’t on Hawaii, we are in London. It gets cold. The water in the pool is freezing for a start, and then everyone who comes out of the pool in their soddon underwear, because they didn’t actually remember to take swim wear, stands around like shivering wrecks when they get outside. Great fun. And the pool is a really rubbish pool anyway, people packed in it like sardines in a sordid tin. Secondly, prices at the bar are ridiculous. I decided not to drink that night and that may have added to my disgust. I was all to aware and concious of my surroundings. It is over four pounds for a pint. The music was god awful minimalist electro/techno, being enjoyed by scary skinny androgynous ‘freaks-but-on-purpose’ and no one else(I hope). There was also a lot of dressing up going on, I didnt appreciate this because it was not dressing up for fun, it was dressing up in order to make some sort of statement/cover up lack of substance/to scream ‘LOOKATME, I AM A WIERDO, HONESTLY, I AMNOTJUST A NORMALHUMANBEING I AMREALLY, REALLY F****D UP’ I am getting angry writing about this place so I shall stop. It is the perfect example of everything that is wrong with Shoreditch.

Aquarium is the only club in England to offer swimming facilities and after going there I understand why the idea isn’t more popular. Though it is a novelty to find yourself swimming at midnight you quickly realise that it’s proabably an activity best confined to daylight hours. The rest of the interior plays upon the underwater theme with soft ethereal coloured lighting and white drapes criss-crossing the ceiling. This place generally attracts friendly, possilby slightly perverted people eager for the opportunity to see someone in a two-piece. Music-wise each night is different and offer alternatively cheesy pop, electro, funky house and disco so it’s always best to check for the night that suits you best. Drinks are fairly expensive but pretty standard for this club strewn area of London. A nice place to come with a group of mates but because of its novelty it’s unlikely to become a regular to many.

It’s very refreshing to find something different these days, and the Aquarium definitely meets that criteria. The Aquarium has quite a good set up for a club: space, colourful lights, drinks, and wait for it — a SWIMMINGPOOL! Personally I don’t know how a licence was ever passed to allow a bunch of drunk and high people to go swimming in a club, but surprisingly, it really works! The club has a lifeguard on duty to make sure the fun stays that way, and it really tends to be just that: fun. A bunch of strangers swimming around in this atmosphere seems to let people’s guard down so it’s easy to make new friends, or at least have a laugh. The music varies and there’s a wide range of drinks available. The club owners actually have a bar a few doors down too, which isn’t bad either(Bar Aquarium).

I came a long way to this club. For starters we booked our tickets on-line £12.00 each plus for the priveledge of booking on-line had to pay a further £1.50. Never the less went there with good intentions. There was no real queue just a hussle around the door waiting to get in. Well that’s when it hits you. The club is so hot it is unreal there is no air con only one or two little units in each room which weren’t on full at all, the heat was so bad it ruined our 70s outfits from the wet, also we could not drink and as we were out for a birthday this was not good. It made 2 of my friends sick where it was sooo hot. Then you have to PAY £1TOGOFOR A CIGARETTEORLEAVETHEBUILDING, this is disgusting as most clubs you just get a stamp. One of my friends was hot and decided to come out for a cigarette too cool down, as she was coming up the stairs some of the staff were sitting at the reception desk drinking champagne and as they popped the bottle open the cork hit my friend in the face and all the staff did was laugh and look at her — no apology. We decided then that we wanted to leave so we asked on of the bouncers inside if we could quickly go into the pool area just to tell our friends we were going back to the bar next door he said ‘don’t care now move’ and shoved us out of the way into the next room. Since going to this club I have written to the management about it, but have not had any replies. The music was good the club was so hot with condesation people kept slipping over. A lot of people were leaving early because the heat ruined their night

regardless what the aquarium used to be a few years ago, today s one of the best regarded and most visited afters in london. it opens at 4 and closes at 10 or 12 depending on the night(o shall i say morning?) the club is big and with loads of room. is never packed nor empty, so the feeling is great. the ilumination is superb with dim blue light that add up to its allure. yeh, there;s a swimming pool but it;s hidden and you may only peep through a window. i never saw anybody having a dip so i guess you can’t use it although thre’s people that claim you may. perhaps in the summer. drinks aren’t cheap but you can taste the alcohol, unlike many others. the crowd is friendly, many many spaniards, and the music tends to be great. there is a room with sofas where to have a rest and ready to stay until it closes. the security staff is very concerned in what you have on you, so don’t attemp to bring in drinks or anything you know you shouldn’t. to conclude, a great alternative to other mainstream spots.
