The people who work here are so nice. I didn’t sit for a meal but ordered take away on a sunny day. They just treated people kindly and prepared my food quickly. I think it’s more of a dinner spot, but the food was still great. They even gave me a10% discount. I’m going back more often for sure.

Went here for a friend’s birthday and had a fab meal. Food was great and excellent value. The restaurant has a great view and nice atmosphere. Service could have been a little quicker(although given that there were 12 of us on the table that can be forgiven). Cocktails are 2 for 1 in happy hour so definitely worth going early!

What’s not to love about this place? The location is brilliant as it’s right on the Thames, the atmosphere is ideal for a night out, and the food is some of the best fusion Thai I’ve had. Although we had a table booked, our group got there after 9 on a Saturday night and the bar area had a few open tables. The cocktails were my favourite part. I highly recommend the Bellini or watermelon mojito for anyone that enjoys a sweet drink. Also, the spring rolls, King prawns, and squid s&p were great for munching on in between drinks.

A fantastic venue with outstanding views of the Thames! Service and food are ok, but the setting is just«to die for». We were a group of 10 and we had the Phuket set meal which was nice, but not spectacular. For desert we had tinned lychee which was a real let down. If the view of the Thames and Putney bridge was not there, it would be a two or three star at best. Kx

Sehr leckere thailändische Küche. Da es sich um ein sehr großes Restaurant handelt, ist es leider gelegentlich auch sehr laut. Dafür wird man aber mit einem traumhaften Blick über die Themse entschädigt.

I’ve never eaten here so I can’t comment on the food but I have to say their cocktails are delicious! The staff know exactly what they’re doing and although these drinks might seem a little pricey you certainly get what you pay for. I love the fact that the bar staff taste what they’re serving so they know if the cocktail needs a dash of something extra — they don’t just stick to the prescribed recipe and plonk it in front of you. They also don’t stinge on the alcohol measures and I’m always happy when my cosmo is completed with burnt orange peel. Lush! If you’re in the area and fancy a cocktail Thai Square is the place to come!

So taking over the iconic Putney bridge restaurant building, thai square certainly bagged a great location.(although I still mourn the passing of a French restaurant with a star, in Putney) All fairly straight forward stuff the menu covers most of the Thai standards from chicken satay, green/red/jungle curries and chicken and cashew, to other less Thai like the chilli soft shell crab. Food and service is just fine, not of Blue Elephant standard(fulham) but neither is the price, so fairs fair. The bar downstairs comes alive as a night spot when it’s not providing private parties for the Thai community and all in all the place is not half bad if you fancy a Thai and are restricted to Putney.

Thai Square was a fun restaurant to go to. The décor is modern thai style with elegant lithe waitresses in evening dresses serving. The downstairs area is a bar and then on the weekends turns into a disco! Totally unexpected, but that is how it was when I went on a saturday night. Upstairs there is a large dining area with floor to ceiling window to show the view of the thames overlooking putney bridge. The food was decent, not the most spectacular thai food I’ve ever had in my life and a bit pricey for not being too spectacular. I would go there more for the experience than the actual food.

We met up with a friend in Putney last night and she suggested Thai Square. I’ve been in London for a couple years and had yet to try this chain. She highly recommended it. So I agreed. We were told it would be about a 20 minute wait in the bar as the seating wasn’t quite ready(they’d just opened for dinner), but we waited a bit longer. We had drinks and they brought round some peanuts for munching, so that was fine. When it was time to eat we were asked if we could please finish by 9pm as they had planned 2 seatings(it was just nearly 6:30pm — again, fine by us!). I had the veggie spring rolls and the cashew chicken. The spring rolls were delicious — some of the best I’ve had at any Asian restaurant in London. The chicken was nothing special, but tasty. The downside was the sticky rice. It was so sticky that none of us could get it out of the little basket gracefully! I’ve never encountered sticky rice that was so gluey ever! It was perfectly fine to taste, but took some effort to get a bit off the plate! :p Service was gorgeous and the wine was nice. I’d normally give 4 stars(especially as we had a lovely window seat with a beautiful riverside view as the sun set and darkness fell over Putney), but the prices, for what it is, are just too high. £6 for 4 small spring rolls and £20 for a not-very-special bottle of wine? Not cool. Otherwise, this is a really lovely restaurant location. For a more special occasion than just a Saturday meal with friends, I might stop in again.

It is stylish with great river view. We are locals so we go there quite often. Food is tasty but not very sophiscated. The staff is always standing around chatting instead of serving. They also do a weekend buffet which has a great variety, and good value for money.

So, I’ve been to a Thai Square before, and had a better experience(that one was after a few cocktails and we were just so pleased they were open, so that could have helped). Anyway, so this particular venue was a disappointment. We had a discount card which requires a reservation, so we made one. I often wonder whether this colors the service we get, but I find these discount/voucher cards are pretty common in London, so if so, people must be getting offended left and right. We then waited for approximately 15 – 20 minutes(and the restaurant was not busy enough to require a wait). When we get up, there were plenty of tables, so the wait was just.weird. The food is good. I will give it that. The mixed starter platter in particular is very good. My main and rice were tasty, as were my boyfriends, although I feel like mine might have been better than his? Service was.okay. Not that attentive given the relatively quiet night at the restaurant. And we tip well(I’m american, so it’s hard for me to stop the habit of it, despite it not being a huge tipping culture here, I guess) but I don’t think we will be returning. IT’s a chain, so it could just be the locale, but there are plenty of better thai places in the area, I’m sure.

Yum — in short. Not sure about the bar bit, as I didn’t use that, but this shipshaped restaurant is simply terrific for a business lunch. Yes, the view of Putney Bridge and the Thames is probably the obvious selling point, but the food was well-presented and had terrific flavours and textures. The dishes also have some utterly splendid names — take your pick from the likes of Bangkok Dangerous, Morning Glory in black bean sauce, Weeping Tiger or Drunken Duck. I rather fancied the Sexy Tuna to be honest. The service was impeccable — friendly, prompt, and not overly intrusive. My recommendation: the lamb Mussaman curry. Superb.

The restaurant is massive and perfectly located. It’s right on the Thames with floor to ceiling windows – what more could you ask for? It’s a wonderful view during the day and terribly romantic at night. They also have a few small tables outside for warm summer days. The food is also really good. Possibly a bit over-priced, but very good all the same. The highlights for us were the blackened cod and the non-alcoholic melon mint cocktail. Both are must-tries if you happen upon this restaurant. The service exceeds the price-premium. The hostess, barman, waiters and waitresses were phenomenally polite and attentive. The downside… the place could be perceived as a bit cheesy and a bit empty on week-nights as there just simply aren’t enough people to fill the space and they do tend to spread folks out.

Came here for an engagement bash so didn’t have too much food other than some nibbles. Limited exposure but it didn’t offend. Would like to come back here to try out the food in more detail. Great views of a delightful part of London.

While living in Fulham, I more and more discovered how Putney is an upcoming area. Putney is the home of South Africans and Aussies — but you find them more in pubs then at Thai places. From time to time we wanted to escape the more family area in Fulham. We headed over the Themes towards Putney. Just off the bridge we found Thai Square, a Thai restaurant, which belongs to a chain of well looked after, carefully decorated Thai restaurants in London. The restaurant has a view over the Themes, which is already a bonus, not many places I have visited in London do have this privilege. Downstairs there is a bar, where you can order all sort of cocktails. You are taken upstairs for dinner later. You could do it the opposite round of course. I enjoyed it very much the dimmed light atmosphere and the service was quick and efficient. The food is very healthy and certainly is a sophisticated outing on a Saturday night. We celebrated a birthday there. What I like about this place is that you can have a fun party, you can take your mother there or take your date for a romantic dinner. Everything is possible.

I came here on the day of the Oxford Cambridge boat race as this place has a wonderful vantage point looking out across the river. A buffet lunch was being served and the food was good and filling so I would definietly come back and order from the main menu. There was an extensive cocktail menu and wine list. There was a real party atmosphere that day and it was packed due to the boat race. I think the bar area would be busy and a good place to come for a drink any day of the week. The décor of the place doesn’t live up to the Blue Elephant in Fulham Broadway though!

Thai Square is a contemporary Thai restaurant located in the award-winning Putney Bridge Building in Putney. One of the most unique buildings in London, its metal beams, floor-to-ceiling glass windows, and rope-threaded timber panels are distinctly nautical. Special care has been taken to ensure that it preserves an authentic Thai ambiance. Eight statues of Buddha are dispersed throughout the restaurant and as tradition dictates, they are fed and watered daily. Thai Square is divided into three distinct areas: the main restaurant, the bar and the Cigar Lounge. The main restaurant features Thai cuisine prepared by Prawat Ngam-Arom, a distinguished Thai chef from Bangkok. The menu offers a mind boggling 100 dishes ranging from a multitude of starters, soups, noodle dishes, Thai salads, curries and rice dishes. After dinner, saunter over to the bar for a unique and potent concoction. I recommend taking in the breathtaking view of the Thames while sipping a Woo Woo(one of their many sinful cocktails) on their relaxing full-length balcony. Afterward, meander to the back of the restaurant where you’ll find the Cigar Lounge– a sultry and stunning space that marries modern simplicity with rich jewel-toned velvet couches and elaborate etched glass walls. Make your way over to the throbbing dance floor and groove to the banging beats of DJs spinning popular house music and funky tunes. If sharing the opulence with the masses isn’t your cup of tea, reserve this intimate space for a private party with your trendiest entourage. On the weekends, be prepared to queue outside for admittance and wait longer than usual for a cocktail as this is one of the hottest spots in town. Thais Square is undoubtedly a fantastic venue if you are seeking somewhere classy yet relaxed enough to lose your inhibitions and shake your stuff on the dance floor.

This is not only a sophisticated bar, but also a gorgeous restaurant. The smell of food is delicious and the cocktails are lovely. The interior is soft and classy and it is a busy bar full of trendy people.

This restaurant is not cheap enough to get away with the mediocre food on offer. It’s not awful — in fact some of it’s quite nice — but it doesn’t warrant the hefty bill. It’s also on top of a packed out bar and it’s quite unpleasant to hear ‘banging tunes’ when you’re eating your meal! However teh décor is refined, the views are superb and it’s handy for the best pub in the area — the Bricklayer’s Arms.
