I guess you guys are reviewing such places just to gain points. Well here goes. It is a Tesco, smaller than your normal, but sells the same foody stuff as the big ones — bread, milk etc and it has a petrol station that sells really nice petrol. Useful huh?

A handy little shop that is open 24⁄7. They pretty much have all the basics covered including a wide range of toiletries, fresh fruit & veg as well as newspapers & magazines. The also sell wine, tobacco, ready meals. I notice that their newspapers aren’t put out until 9:00am on a Saturday/Sundaya little late for the early risers! One negative thing is that the staff are often a little sullen & miserable.

Small but handy. They sell a bit of everything that they sell in the big stores. You can always get cigarettes, chewing gum, bread and milk but not less common things like my special soy sauce that i always buy from tesco! they also sell top up for mobiles so if you’re with 3, virgin, vodaphone or orange you can get the top up in here. you cant get the tesco magazine in here either! you can use your tesco clubcard here which is helpful and points means prizes! Collect points by signing up for a tesco card which you can get by filling in a form instore. You can then spend points on getting discounts on your shopping or convert them into clubcard deals. The deals include vouchers for days out, restauarants, jewellery and travel. collecting points is pretty easy especially if you have a car and get petrol

Attached to an Esso petrol station, this is a very useful 24 hour branch of Tesco Express between Balham and Tooting Bec underground stations. I use it regularly on my way to visit friends nearby. It stocks the usual range of basic groceries, ready meals, confectionery, newspapers, tobacco and a decent range of wines and spirits. There can be long queues at peak times(ie when people are on their way home from work) although in my experience they move along quite quickly. The choice is a bit limited for a major shop, though, and they don’t provide trolleys, just baskets. Usefully, there are two 24 hour free cash-points outside.
