A little Italian deli and grocery shop tucked away in the Shad Thames area. To be honest, I would never have visited here if it wasn’t for a living social voucher giving me 6 bottles of wine for about £22. However, I’m biding my time to go back for the cannelloni and tiramisu. I believe there is a restaurant around somewhere as well, but the deli serves homemade lasagna and some other pasta dishes as well as a full selection of Italian desserts. It also stocks a decent range of Italian ingredients so worth keeping in mind when your local grocery lets you down. Google maps is surprisingly accurate which is also a plus. The wines I got have been delicious. They aren’t fancy wines which you should sip in small bits to savour(not that I really have ever done that). These wines were made to be drunk heartily with some rich food. The reds are smooth and juicy and the white I was given in the pack is slightly fizzy. Not full on bubbles like champagne but just enough to tease your tongue with a different texture that you’d expect for the buttery citrus floats over you. More to come when I’ve had more time to go through it, but for now I’m happily intrigued.

This place is not authentic Italian, the food is stale, it tastes like has been there for ages. The manager is irritating, full of himself, he follows you all over the shop. You can find the same products for less then half price in other Italian shops or even in big supermarket. I will not recommend it to anyone.

A Small Shad Thames Italian themed Delicatessen owned by the same people that have the restaurant on nearby Mill Street. They have a selection of antipasti for purchase by weight, cakes, Italian pasta, canned goods and charcuterie. Bright, airy and not inexpensive. I was in here last night to pick up some olives marinated with garlic and chile, to be honest, Tescos have a better selection and a lot less pricey, and the Pont De La Tour Deli is better, albeit French. However, it is close to where I live and when you are in medical need of a chillied olive…
