My least favorite thing about the pubs in London is the commercialization of the menu because they are all owned by Taylor Walker. So, the menu is the same everywhere. That being said, we stopped in here for a drink and dinner on a Tuesday night. It was pretty busy. We sat down at a table and waited for someone to come over and take our order. Nobody did. I flagged down a server and he said we needed to order at the bar, even if we wanted dinner. So we did. We both ordered the fish and chips and it was really good. Overall, this place was fine but I really don’t enjoy how it had a lot of charm, but the menu made it feel like a chain restaurant. It was also pretty pricey. I don’t feel any need to go back again.

Not family friendly after 5. PM. Made us leave because my 14 year old son was not allowed after 5. They did take my money before they told us that and had no signage.

We stopped off for a quick pint and this was a lovely welcoming tavern for the mostpart. We started out with a beer and a cider and decided to stay for late lunch. The upper level and bar was full so it was nice to find that there was extensive seating downstairs, I suppose we could consider it the basement. Down below there were plenty of tables, another mini bar and a fireplace. We didn’t have large meals, I had a bowl of the soup of the day with crusty bread and the man had fried cod bites. All was extremely yummy and just enough to hold us over till dinner. The vibe was family friendly, warm and comfortable. Would definitely drop by again if we were in Londontown.

I now refer to pubs in London as McDonalds. Same menu and on every corner. My husband and I popped in for dinner and a drink. I opened the menu and found it was exactly the same as a pub I hate at the day before across town. Have you ever eaten in the same restaurant 2 days in a row? I decided against dinner and told my husband i would just sample the apps and asked if he wanted to split a few. He agreed as he didn’t want anything off the menu either. We had; Wings. The sauce was the star here, it needed just a bit more. Onion Rings. There were not many and was frozen foods. Good Scotch Eggs. I have nothing to compare this to as we have never tried them before. They were really good. Beer was good, Gin and tonic was good. it was just ok. I am sad that pubs have been replaced with chains. If I wanted to eat chain food I would have stayed home in the States or gone to McDonalds.

Man fühlte sich also etwas gehetzt. Vielleicht gilt etwas ganz anderes fürs «Pubhocken», aber das kann ich nicht bewerten.

I ate here with a large tour group of students and a few teachers. We were seated in the downstairs«private party» area and were served traditional Fish ‘n Chips. We were promptly served by friendly waitresses. They had free wifi which is always a plus to teenage students. Since I’m a vegetarian, I had Cheese ‘n Chips. Pretty good! It’s a classic English dish and was the perfect portion for me. The food probably won’t be enough for teenage boys, so order more if you want. This place was warm and inviting after walking around the High Street shopping area and away from most tourists… unless there’s a big tour group eating downstairs!

Good stop away from the crowds in Knightsbridge. Friendly Barmaid and not too crowded at 1300 to my surprise. Ordered a pint and a Croque Monsieur(Grilled ham and cheese to Yanks) at the bar. the sandwich which came with selection of greens as a small salad. The sandwich came quickly and everything was tasty. Prices were reasonable for London. I recommend this pub for a stop after Harvey Nicks, Harrods or other high street decompress. :)

I am just rating the food here. I’m not a local and just popped into Tattersalls Tavern(around the corner from my hotel) to try some pub food. Now… when I say pub food, I mean the standard menu food that is at 90% of the pubs in London(same menu and everything). I don’t drink but it looked like everyone who was there post-work hours were enjoying themselves and it felt like a very local, warm place to be. Now the food… Fish and Chips — Love having a whole piece of fish(in the States it’s mostly sticks of fish that doesn’t look like fish) and the chips are pretty standard but the quality of the batter wasn’t that good. It was not very crisp and more on the soppy side. Bangers and Mash — Basically sausage and mashed potatoes. The sausage was not very flavorful and neither were the mashed potatoes. The gravy that came with everything was also very bland so it didn’t help with the flavorlessness that was already happening. Hunter’s Chicken — This is chicken smothered in bbq sauce, cheese and bacon. This actually had a little more flavorful but most of the flavor was the bbq sauce. The bacon didn’t stand out and the chicken was hardly identifiable. Meat and Ale Pie — The dish that had the most flavor! I actually enjoyed this one but would still give it about 3 out of 5 stars. This was the one and only pub that I stopped to eat at in London. It was my first stop and from then I was convinced that pub food was not my thing. There are other places to get the same dishes that have more flavor.

I spotted this place after leaving Harrods and wanted to grab something to eat. I can’t say much for the ambiance — seemed like just a normal, somewhat larger than average pub. It was extremely crowded and service was nonexistent. I basically sat myself down and went up to the bar to order. I got a beer and(since I was a tourist in London) fish and chips. It’s fine if it’s a no-frills pub if the food is good, but the fish and chips were really bad. I’d rather eat frozen fish sticks baked in my own oven… At the end of the meal, I had to squeeze through the chaotic room and hunt down someone so that I could pay. I should definitely have put in more effort finding a real restaurant instead of just walking randomly into this place.

this place was a savior when I wanted to get away from the crazy tourists near Harrods…(yes, i was a tourist too, but i prefer to dodge the highly populated areas and learn the cities by getting lost) it is tucked away just off the beaten path, but easy enough to spot if you are looking for someplace to duck into. it is traditional pub food, with a younger vibe. I can’t tell you what I ordered because when I read it off the menu, I had no idea what would come… It was some name I had never heard before, which is hilarious, because when got my plate it was a ham-steak with pineapple and a fried egg on top! My ignorant American mind later looked it up and found out it was a Gammon… duh right? yes, well… The service was really friendly and really accommodating to all our questions. Even I would have been annoyed by our endless amount of, «where should we eat dinner?», «whats your favorite pub?», «where do the locals shop?»… I will definitely keep this place on my London List!
